Driving in Saint Lucia, Right Side of the car and Left Side of the road, October 2021
In October of 2021, we spent a week in Saint Lucia. We stayed in a private rental home, cooked many of our meals, and drove around the country. Driving in Saint Lucia is a challenge for U.S. drivers. It's also a challenge for anyone used to flat terrain. We adjusted to being on the right side of the car and left side of the road. The biggest adjustment for us was the constant elevation changes and bends in the road. The roads are barely wide enough for two way traffic and most stretches of road are lined with deep ditches. It can be very nerve wracking! In addition, the majority of the roads are not smooth (holes, landslides, collapsed portions).
