Get more Tips here!

The country of Zambia in the southern region of Africa is the perfect destination for nature lovers. If you want to venture off to a place that has everything, from a rich history to friendly villagers and diverse wildlife, Zambia has you covered. Here are 10 things to Do in Zambia.

1. Visit Victoria Falls
Mosi-oa-Tunya, also known as Victoria Falls, is a stunning waterfall that’s located on the Zambia/Zimbabwe border. It is one of the largest waterfalls in the world with over 500 million liters of water.

2. Take a Walking Safari
South Luangwa is the birthplace of the walking tours and the one place where you’ll be most likely to come in contact with a lion. When the tour is finished, grab and tent and enjoy some restful and peaceful sleep in the middle of the wilderness.

3. Visit a Traditional Village
Zambia has over 73 tribes. And, a tour of the Kawaza Village near South Luangwa includes helping the villagers to harvest crops and draw water from their wells before enjoying a traditional feast. ,

4. Volunteer at the Lion Conservation
This center is home to a number of lions that have been orphaned, abandoned, or abused. The sanctuary allows visitors to take care of them, prepare their meals, feed them, clean their enclosures, and assist them with veterinary care.

5. Go on a Game Drive
Along the Luangwa River, jeep tours will get you up close and personal to some of Zambia’s dazzling wildlife. On these game drives, the vehicles make it easier to get closer to a higher density of animals.

6. Visit Chobe National Park
It's along the border of Zambia. Guided tours are available via vehicle. Open-air trucks will take you to the park’s river where you can witness elephants swimming, playing, and bathing together, or you can book a boat ride through the park.

7. Enjoy High Tea
Enjoy high tea with an amazing view at the luxurious Royal Livingstone Hotel. This five-star accommodation overlooks the Zambezi river where hippopotamuses and zebras frequently graze in the distance.

8. Canoe Ride in Lower Zambezi National Park
This Park is known for its fish eagles, elephants, and buffalo, but it’s also a great spot to go for a relaxing canoe ride. The river is lined with fig trees and if you’re lucky, you might even see a leopard taking a drink on the edge of the river as you paddle by!

9. Swim in Devil’s Pool
During the dry season, the levels of the Zambezi River drop low enough for you to walk to the lip of the falls. Fearless travelers get pushed to the edge by the force of the river, but the rock lip prevents them from going over the edge.

10. View Rare Species in Bangweulu Wetlands
If you really want to take pictures that will amaze all of your friends and family back home, you’ll definitely want to head out to the Bangweulu Wetlands. This community-owned wetland has over 433 different bird species, including the rare shoebill.

Lusaka Zambia Travel Experience

I arrived in Lusaka, Zambia which is South of Africa. Zambia is a very beautiful country, but my experience is not good so far. it's a landlocked country, that's why it's expensive as well.

Zambia & Zimbabwe tourism 2016, Safaris to Zambia & Zimbabwe, Victoria falls, Zambezi River, Hwange National Park, Nyanga National Park, Zambia & Zimbabwe trip 2016, Travel to Zambia & Zimbabwe 2016

Zambia is a a landlocked country in Southern Africa that's roughly the size of Texas or France. Zambia is, bordered by Tanzania to the northeast, Malawi to the east, Mozambique to the southeast, Zimbabwe and Botswana to the south, with a narrow strip of Namibia known as the Caprivi Strip to the southwest, Angola to the west, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the northwest.

Do on Zambia
==================

Zambia is making a name for itself as a must do safari destination. It's marketing itself as the real Africa and if you visit any of the South African reserves before you go to Zambia you will agree with them! There are no traffic jams around the Lions here! The future for Zambia also looks a lot brighter than many of its neighbours, its new government under President Sata seems to be behind conservation. It recently declined granting a uranium mining licence in Lower Zambezi National Park because of the environmental damage it would cause

Organised safaris are the way to go in Zambia. Self driving is an option but is only for the fully self sufficient. Zambia is home to some of Africa's greatest national parks. Lower Zambezi, South Luangwa and the frankly huge (the worlds second biggest NP) Kafue are the main ones, but North Luangwa and the virtually inaccessible Luiwa Plains are worth a mention. Although sometimes you might find the borders of them hard to define, there are no fences in Zambia, it really is the Africa of your imagination.

Safaris are through various operators, many being very expensive, but good value options are available and it's best to use a local established operator such as The River Safari Company.

=================
Zimbabwe is a country in Southern Africa. It is landlocked and is surrounded by South Africa to the south, Botswana to the Southwest, Zambia to the Northwest, and Mozambique to the east and north.

The Zambezi river forms the natural boundary with Zambia and when in full flood (February-April) the massive Victoria Falls on the river forms the world's largest curtain of falling water. The Victoria Falls are a major tourist attraction.

Once known as the Breadbasket of Africa, since 2000, Zimbabwe has undergone an economic collapse and the rule of law has gradually but largely broken down, although there have been a few signs of improvement since the theoretical formation of a unity Government in 2009 and the Zimbabwean economy has been on the rebound. GDP grew by more than 5% in the year 2010 and 2011, from a very low base. Growth is forecast to increase, buoyed by high mineral prices and the improving agriculture sector.

See in Zimbabwe
==============
Hwange National Park. Located between Victoria Falls and Bulawayo, the park boasts more than 100 different animal species and over 400 species of birds. It is one of the few great elephants sanctuaries in Africa with over 30,000 elephants.

Matobo Hills National Park. Also known as Matopos, this small park close to Bulawayo was awarded a UNESCO world heritage status in 2003 for its fascinating natural features and wildlife.

Mana Pools National Park. Mana Pools National Park, South of the Zambezi river in the North of Zimbabwe, is a UNESCO world heritage site. A remote location, it welcomes happy few safari lovers with an abundance of elephants, hippos, lions, antelopes and other animals, and over 350 bird species, in stunning landscapes.

Great Zimbabwe Ruins. Located in the vicinity of Masvingo, the 3rd Zimbabwean city, Great Zimbabwe ruins are the remains of one of greatest African civilizations after the Pharaohs: the Kingdom of Great Zimbabwe dominated the area from present Zimbabwe, East of Botswana and South East of Mozambique in the late Iron Age (1100-1450 AD). From the impressive granite stone complex that was once built, the ruins span 1,800 ac (700 ha) and cover a radius of 100-200 mi (160-320 km).

Victoria falls, Zambezi River, One of the greatest attractions in Africa and one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the world, Victoria Falls.

Nyanga National Park, Rolling green hills and perennial rivers transverse the 47 000 hectare Park. Nyanga National Park can provide the visitor with an unforgettable holiday experience.

WHAT TO DO IN ZAMBIA in 60 seconds

Check out our website: 60seconds.travel

Tim spent one week in Zambia in May 2016 - a truly stunning country. And since it is widely known that countries are like steaks sometimes - zambia will be medium rare. Grilled to perfection. Just the right amount of adventure with the well functioning modern infrastructure. If there's a time so visit Zambia: It's now.

Tim's recommodations in order of appereance:

00:05 The Victoria Falls are Zambias best known sight. Best time to see them is obviously the wet season from February to May. And trust me: You better rent one of the raincoats offered at the entrance...

00:08 The South Luangwa National Park near the border to Malawi is famous for its huge Hippo and Elephant population.

00:10 There are numerous operators offering sunset cruises on the Zambezi. Definitely a must do when in Livingstone. Good thing: Most of them have all inclusive drinks...

00:13 The Royal Zambezi Lodge is a very unique hideaway in the middle of nowhere. Very soon you will know all the employees by name. The lodge has its own airstrip nearby. Elephants are very likely to say hello at your dinner table.

00:14 In the Lower Zambezi National Park you will feel pretty alone. Which is a good thing when you're going on a safari. Leopards are likely to be spotted at night - and it has a big elephant population.

00:27 You have no idea how big the Victoria Falls really are when you havn't seen them from above. There are numerous helicopter operators and you will get a 15 minute roundtrip for less than 150 Dollars. From my experience: Try the microlight planes from Batoka sky. Absolutely stunning, open air feeling - and the pilot will do low passes on elephants on the shore of the Zambezi river.

00:30 The Bungee Jump on the Victoria Falls Bridge may not be the highest in the world (just 111 Meters) but definitely the one with the best view.

00:36 If you're in a hurry: Discover Zambia by plane. A very convenient local airline is Proflight Zambia which operates small planes and goes to very remote places that would take you days to reach. In the video I'm flying with Royal Air Charters. And let me tell you: The two female pilots I was flying with were definitely the best I ever had.

00:42 The Royal Livingstone Hotel is the place to be when staying in Livingstone. Top notch. World class. It couldn't be better. Two things are worth mentioning in particular: Firstly you are living at the shore of the Zambezi river and can still feel the mist and the thunder of the mighty Victoria Falls just 400 Meters away. And - of course - the Zebras and Giraffes that live on the compound come to say hello at night.

00:35 Mfuwe is a very nice little town next to the South Luangwa National Park that you have to pass from the airport.

00:52 Makumi Cultural Village is one of the many examples for very good cultural tourism. The village relies on the tourists visiting normal families in their everyday life. When you're lucky you can see the chief himself and chill with him under a huge tree that once served David Livingstone as a picknick place.

1:00 The Mfuwe Lodge is a very, very special place. Because every year they have elephants in their lobby. The reason is the mango tree in their backyard. The leader of the group, Wonky Tusk leads her family through the hotel every year. The camp is unfenced. So expect to drink a lot of gin tonics at the bar before the lions leave the front porch of your bungalow.
