Top 10 Best Places To Live In New Zealand (NEW) - Heaven On Earth
New Zealand is one of the world’s best places to live and retire, best place to raise your family. It has a very pleasant climate, great beaches, a wide variety of outdoor activities, cultural attractions, free health care
(for the most part), a good educational system, economic freedom, a lack of corruption and attractive, modern cities.
Known for the stunning landscapes featured in Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings.
New Zealand is comprised of two big islands called North Island and South Island, plus numerous smaller islands.
It is located in the southwestern Pacific Ocean and is very geographically isolated.
Its nearest neighbors are Australia, which is 1242 miles to the northwest, and New Caledonia, Fiji and Tonga to the north.
The population of New Zealand is 4,334,000, the majority of whom are of European descent.
The largest minority are the native Maori. There are also a significant number of non-Maori Polynesians and Asians – especially in urban areas.
If you're thinking of moving to New Zealand, you'll need to decide where you're going to live.
Learn more about best places to live in New Zealand here, and decide where in the country you should settle.
Here're the 10 best places to live in New Zealand.
1. Wellington, the capital of New Zealand.
If you are moving to live in New Zealand and you’re really not sure where you want to settle,
Auckland can be a great place to begin, you can rent accommodation easily within the city
and it has fantastic transport links for the rest of the nation.
But be sure to use these transport links, explore the North and South Islands and find the location
that best suits you before you buy a home or even commit to living in New Zealand full time.
Whilst the nation is not vast or overpopulated, it does encompass such an impressive array of geographically
different regions that it would be a crime not to explore far more of the country than its leading city before you settle on a place in New Zealand to call home.

10 Best Places to Visit in New Zealand
New Zealand is an island country in the southwestern Pacific Ocean. It comprises two main landmasses—the North Island and the South Island —and around 600 smaller islands, covering a total area of 268,021 square kilometres.
Number 10, Coromandel Peninsula.
The Coromandel, renowned for its pristine beaches, misty forests and laid-back vibe, is one of New Zealand's most popular holiday destinations.
Number 9, Kaikoura.
Kaikoura is a coastal town on the South Island of New Zealand.
Number 8, Glacier Country.
Glacier Country is a dramatic mix of mountains and water. It starts with Glacier National Park and the giant Flathead Lake.
Number 7, Napier.
Napier, a coastal city on New Zealand's North Island, is set amid the renowned wine-producing region of Hawke's Bay. Rebuilt after a 1931 earthquake, the city is known for art deco landmarks like the zigzag-patterned Daily Telegraph Building. Along the tree-lined waterfront promenade the Marine Parade, the Pania of the Reef statue depicting a Maori maiden, is a symbol of the city.
Number 6, Rotorua.
Rotorua, a town set on its namesake lake on New Zealand's North Island, is renowned for its geothermal activity and Maori culture. In Te Puia’s Whakarewarewa Valley, there are bubbling mud pools and the 30m-tall Pohutu Geyser, which erupts many times daily. It’s also home to a living Maori village and the New Zealand Maori Arts and Crafts Institute, with traditional wood carving and weaving schools.
Number 5, The Bay of Islands.
The Bay of Islands is a New Zealand enclave encompassing more than 140 subtropical islands next to the country's North Island. It’s known for its undeveloped beaches, big-game fishing and Maori cultural artefacts. It's also home to the 19th-century whaling port of Russell, whose waterfront promenade is lined with remnants from its days as the country’s first colonial capital.
Number 4, Auckland.
Auckland, based around 2 large harbours, is a major city in the north of New Zealand’s North Island. In the centre, the iconic Sky Tower has views of Viaduct Harbour, which is full of superyachts and lined with bars and cafes. Auckland Domain, the city’s oldest park, is based around an extinct volcano and home to the formal Wintergardens. Near Downtown, Mission Bay Beach has a seaside promenade.
Mount Eden and One Tree Hill are especially popular! The Viaduct, the yachts and boats, the Hauraki Gulf, Rangitoto Island - all reasons why Auckland is affectionately known as the 'City of Sails'. Auckland is a city with a lot of character. As New Zealand's largest and most diverse city, it is definitely a place to visit if you're looking to experience an array of different attractions.
Number 3, Queenstown.
Queenstown, New Zealand, sits on the shores of the South Island’s Lake Wakatipu, set against the dramatic Southern Alps. Renowned for adventure sports, it’s also a base for exploring the region’s vineyards and historic mining towns. There's bungee jumping off Kawarau Gorge Suspension Bridge and jet-boating on the Shotover and Dart rivers. In winter, there's skiing on the slopes of The Remarkables and Coronet Peak. Queenstown is a resort town in Otago in the south-west of New Zealand's South Island. Queenstown is known for its commerce-oriented tourism, especially adventure and ski tourism. Renowned as New Zealand's 'Adventure Capital', Queenstown attracts more than three million visitors a year, who come for everything from world-class skiing and snowboarding to unique thrills in the water, the air and on land, or the relaxed pace of the wine trail in Gibbston.
Number 2, Tongariro National park.
Tongariro became New Zealand’s first national park in 1887. Just over one hundred years later, the park was awarded dual UNESCO World Heritage status for both its cultural significance to the Māori people, as well as its outstanding natural features.
Number 1, Fiordland.
Fiordland is a geographic region of New Zealand in the south-western corner of the South Island, comprising the western-most third of Southland. Most of Fiordland is dominated by the steep sides of the snow-capped Southern Alps, deep lakes, and its steep, glacier-carved and now ocean-flooded western valleys.Fiordland is one of the southern hemisphere’s great wilderness regions and has achieved World Heritage Status for its stunning natural features, exceptional beauty and role in demonstrating the earth’s evolutionary history. Home to Mitre Peak, the stunning fiords of Milford Sound and Doubtful Sound, the beautiful lakeside towns of Te Anau and Manapouri and the Kepler, Milford and Routeburn Tracks, Fiordland is known as the sightseeing and walking capital of the world.
TOP 18 AUCKLAND ATTRACTIONS (2020) [4K]
Top 18 Auckland attractions is the travel video we've been asked for many times. Lots of people travel to New Zealand and spend time in Auckland, so they want to know what to do and where to go. We got you covered with this 2020 travel video providing up-to-date travel information about top Auckland attractions.
Auckland is not only the biggest city in New Zealand with the busiest airport. This is also a very beautiful region (and a huge one) with so many incredible tourist attractions. And they are extremely diverse. You can enjoy the architecture of the city centre while walking the streets or having coffee at one of the local cafes. Or admire the view from the tallest building in New Zealand - Sky Tower. Explore Auckland's hidden gems like Ponsonby, Silo Park and Domain Wintergardens or pick one of the touristic must-haves including Mount Eden, Viaduct Harbour or Giapo. If you have more time, there is plenty to do outside Auckland city - fantastic black sand beaches (Piha, Anawhata or Muriwai), waterfalls (Hunua) or lighthouses (Manukau Heads).
Creating this Top 18 Auckland Attractions list was quite a challenging task. It took us many visits to Auckland during the last 3 years to film this content and combine it into this video. Please let us know what you think and if there are any places you can recommend adding - share ideas in comments. We would be happy to do an update of this video next year.
