DAY IN THE LIFE OF A DIGITAL NOMAD IN JAPAN | FIRST WORLD TRAVELLER

Are you looking to become a Digital Nomad? Are you wondering what a typical day looks like for a Digital Nomad in Japan, running a YouTube channel, doing a Workaway AND teaching English on Italki?

This video details a pretty standard day for me as a Digital Nomad in Hiroshima, Japan, where I have been since before Christmas 2017. Yes, you don't just have to go to a Co-working space in Bali or Chiang Mai!

In this video, I cover the following -

- Admin including e-mails, social media
- Workaway in a hostel
- Filming and editing a YouTube video
- Thumbnail design
- Uploading a video
- Planning 25 Italki English lessons for the week
- Skype call with future Workaway

I hope this gives you a good idea of the reality of Digital Nomad life. It purposely has NO MUSIC to highlight the realness and make you feel as you're really there!

Enjoy!

Let’s take a tour around Caye Caulker. This small caribbean Island takes the best of the caribbean experience. Caye Caulker is a very comfortable island with many beaches, activities, restaurants and things to do but Caye Caulker is still a very small and peaceful community in the Caribbean.

- BELIZE

Belize is a great location to experience the Central American jungles and the Caribbean Sea.

Belize is located in Central America and it is bordered to the north by Mexico, to the south and west by Guatemala and to the east by the Caribbean Sea. We are a diverse country with various cultures and languages. We also have the lowest population density in Central America with 35 people per square mile or 14 people per square kilometer.

Belize is also known for its extreme biodiversity and distinctive ecosystems. On the coast, there is a swampy coastal plain with mangrove swamps. In the south and interior there are hills and low mountains. Most of our land is undeveloped and is forested with hardwoods. It is a part of the Mesoamerican biodiversity hotspot and it has many jungles, wildlife reserves, a large variety of different species of flora and fauna and the largest cave system in Central America. Some species of Belize's flora and fauna include the black orchid, the mahogany tree, the toucan and tapirs.

- CAYE CAULKER

We are in Caye Caulker, a small island off the coast of Belize.

“No shirt, No shoes….. No problem” is a very common sign for travelers walking around Belize. It reflects the overall atmosphere in the beautiful Caribbean island and the culture in Caye Caulker.

Indeed, everything is very relaxing in this travel paradise. But if you really want to experience the best of Belize, you should definitely go to Caye Caulker. We got to be there for some time and discovered the best of Belize. It made our trip complete.

Caye caulker is one of the best destinations to practices snorkeling and diving. The nearby reef provides a great scenario for travelers to explore and adventure.

One of the best things about Belize and Caye Caulker is the vast amount of thrilling activities around, but the overall calm and very relax environment in the towns and villages.

Belize has suffered a huge construction boom during recent years because of the amount of travelers and the increased interest of tourist to explore this island. Despite this, Belize has managed to balanced great hotels, and business development, with the overall peace and exotic feeling of the Island. For example, despite the amount of tourist and travelers around, you will only find a few traffic signs. Most of them are design to make the golf car user or cyclist to slow down. Caye Caulker is particularly interesting because it lacks the fumes and hassles related to cars. Indeed, if you travel to Caye Caulker, you won’t find any cars, instead, you will find fresh food, a beautiful reef, nature, and clear water.

Despite the rise on the number of new travelers Caye, Caulker, Belize, receives every year, the place still remains a small village. Most of the business you find are locally own, which guarantee a great and a very particular experience for anyone coming to visit.

Caye Caulker and Belize as a whole is a great place to visit if you are going to the Caribbean and want to experience what the traditional Caribbean town is really about.

How to get here?

Traveling to Belize shouldn’t be an issue. International carrier such as Continental, American, Delta and Taca have regular services to the Belize.

In order to arrive at Caye Caulker, you can take one of the flights provided by Tropic Air which flies from Belize International Airport. There are also services from San Pedro, Corozal, and Belize City Municipal Airstrip.

If flying is not your thing, Caye Caulker’s traditional commuting method os the water taxi. The boats can be taken from Belize City and San Pedro. The boats are very reliable and the trip is very affordable (average $25) It only takes around 30 minutes to come.

JAPANESE SUPERMARKETS - FOOD HAUL FOR 3,000¥ | LIFE IN JAPAN | FIRST WORLD TRAVELLER

Japanese Supermarket Food Haul! Yes, it's time to do a weekly food shop at a Japanese Supermarket, although I hope it'll last more than a week!

I set myself a budget of 3,000 Yen (about 26 USD) to buy some food to keep me going at my Workaway in terms of cooking proper meals rather than eating out. How does Supermarket food in Japan compare to Japanese Convenience stores, ie Family Mart, Lawson & 7/11?

You can check out my Japanese Conbini Videos in the Playlists below where I challenged myself to survive on 1000 Yen a day at regular Convenience Stores and 1000 Yen a week at Lawson 100 (Japanese 100 Yen store)

FOOD HAUL! ARGH!

10 of the Most Affordable Places to Live in the US.
You’re ready to move to a new city. But, before you pack up and select a new place to live, make sure you do your research. While it’s great to have an idea of some of the different entertainment options and attractions that an area offers, you also want it to be somewhere that fits into your budget. Living expenses vary wildly from city to city, and finding an affordable city to live in isn’t as easy as it used to be.
Let’s say you’re looking for a city to move to and are hoping to spend about $140,000 on your new dream home. You’re not going to have much luck in cities like New York City or San Francisco. However, that $140,000 could get you a lot of house if you’re looking at one of the more affordable cities in America.
Luckily, Forbes compiles a good amount of data every year to help us figure out which cities those are. The full list of America’s most affordable cities tops 100 metropolitan areas, but we’re going to stick to the upper slice.
Here are the cheapest cities in the U.S., so you can see where you can get the most bang for your buck.
10. Columbus, Ohio
9. Indianapolis, Indiana
8. Dayton, Ohio
7. St. Louis, Missouri
6. Memphis, Tennessee
5. Cincinnati, Ohio
4. Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
3. Buffalo, New York
2. Knoxville, Tennessee
1. Birmingham, Alabama

backpacking through South America - GoPro (Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina and Brazil)

Between November 2016 and January 2017, my friend Nadia and I travelled to South America. Besides the booked flights and the mainstream attractions on our minds, the traveling turned out to be spontaneous. For instance in La Paz, we met a young german couple and decided to continue our adventure as a group for the following month.
After all our journey to South America and the memories we made will remain unforgotten.

Athens (Greek: Αθήνα, Athína - Ἀθῆναι)

20 Things to do in Athens Greece Top Attractions Travel Guide Transcript:

Well, good afternoon from sunny Athens. We are currently exploring the Greek capital. We recently actually spent a few days traveling around Meteora and now we're finishing up our trip here in Athens. We've got two full days to explore the city which isn't a lot of time but we're going to try to do our best.

Our first stop was one of the most recognized sights in Athens - the Parthenon, which was dedicated to the goddess Athena who was seen as the patron of Athens.

After sunset we lingered atop Mount Lycabettus for some night views of the city before taking the funicular down to the bottom. Seeing the Acropolis all lit up at night was a pretty cool sight!

Next up we visited the Temple of Zeus which once housed the statue of Zeus, and was considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

When it comes to shopping, there are a few different options. We made our way to Monastiraki, which is one of the principal shopping districts in Athens. Here we visited both the Flea Market and the antique shops in the area.

The Agora was the central spot in ancient Greek city-states, and it is where people gathered.

So we are wrapping up our time here in Athens. Any surprises or final thoughts to share? Yeah, something that really surprised me were just the amount of stray animals that I saw on the streets.

I also thought there was really good dining options as well. We had a number of really good Greek meals and also some really good International food too.

Final thoughts, I think this is a really underrated capital in Europe. A lot like Warsaw in Poland so if you have an opportunity to visit Athens in Greece definitely do so.

So what did you think of Athens? Well, I thought it was a really cool city and I actually had a great time here. It kind of reminded me a little bit of Tel Aviv with the Mediterranean feel but also Berlin because it is very artsy and gritty. So it's a really cool place to check out. Great food, lots of attractions. You have a mix of antiquity with urban.

And that's a wrap for Athens! We hope you enjoyed this city guide and that it'll come in handy when you plan your own trip.

This is part of our Travel in Greece series. We're making a series of videos showcasing Greek culture, Greek arts, Greek foods & Greek cuisine.

Travel Guatemala || Tikal, Going Back In Time

Oh, Tikal. How I loved you and how I hated you. This part of Guatemala was quite the adventure for us. From a failed sunrise tour, to EPIC sunset shots, to a sketchy awful tour guide who tried to screw us, to the heat, the elation, the wonder and awe...it was literally everything wrapped in 14 hours. I was insanely tired but also insanely excited. We got some amazing footage, but it was a huge challenge to get it (carrying all that equipment! AHHH!). All in all, I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat, but I would do things a little differently. I'll lay it all out for you guys so you can learn from my mistakes, and the things we did right! -Nathalie

(All videos filmed, edited, narrated and produced by yours truly)

Where we stayed:
Posada Del Cerro in El Remate - HIGHLY recommend

What we booked:
Tikal sunrise tour AND sunset tour through Posada Del Cerro, who works with San Juan Travel. Beware a tour guide named Ruben! He tried to screw us over. I don't recommend the sunrise tour - see video. The sunset tour is much, much better.
