10 Most Dangerous Tourist Destinations in the World

Get more Tips here!

While escaping the everyday routine to go on an extreme vacation, some risky places require a lot more preparation and forethought than others. Aside from the war-torn hotspots, here are a handful of dangerous places that you might dare to visit.

1. Kokoda Track, Papua New Guinea
The Kokoda Track presents many challenges and dangers to the increasing number of adventurers that it accommodates, but by far the greatest danger is the perpetual infestation of malarial mosquitoes.

2. Death Road, Bolivia
Claiming around 250 lives per year, the aptly named Death Road is one of the most dangerous roads in the world. One wrong move, and you could end up plummeting down a 2,000-foot vertical drop. At its highest, the road reaches over 15,000 feet before descending to only 3,900 feet above sea level.

3. Chernobyl, Ukraine
The whole region, spanning some 1,000 square miles, was evacuated in 1986 due to the devastating explosion at the local nuclear power plant. However, the danger comes not so much from radiation any more, but the countless precariously abandoned buildings.

4. Cliffs of Moher, Ireland
The Cliffs of Moher reach a maximum height of 700 feet, but with the huge vertical drops right into the sea and frequent high winds, you certainly won’t want to veer too close to the edge. Sadly the cliffs also have a reputation for attracting self-destructive and even suicidal behavior.

5. Acapulco, Mexico
The crime rate has become astronomical in recent years, running at nearly 30 times higher than the US average. The vast majority of the crime largely involves drug cartels and does not specifically target tourists. However, you best take heed before planning a trip to this pretty seaside town

6. New Smyrna Beach, Florida
Named one of the world’s 20 best surfing towns by National Geographic in 2012, this unfortunate region also has highest number of shark attacks anywhere in the world. There have been 238 incidents on record, 12 in 2008 alone.

7. Danakil Depression, Ethiopia
This is a highly active volcanic region. It’s also extremely inhospitable, being one of the hottest spots on Earth. Unfortunately, the area is made even more uninviting due to border disputes with neighboring Eritrea.

8. Mount Everest, Nepal
Standing just over 29,000 feet above sea level at the summit, the air is so thin that oxygen tanks and breathing masks are essential. Over 250 people have died attempting to reach the summit. Many bodies still lie frozen in the snow. Some have earned nicknames and serve as trail markers along Everest’s routes.

9. Hua Shan, China
The walk consists of unstable wooden boards precariously clinging to the cliffs. With no guard rails and a largely unstable construction, many lives have been claimed by this walk, which features drops of up to 7,000 feet.

10. Mont Blanc, France
With a peak of over 16,000 feet, Mont Blanc in France is one of the most breathtaking yet dangerous hiking spots in Europe. There's a threat of high wind speeds and a constant risk of avalanches. The mountain has claimed dozens of lives in recent decades.

10 Best Destinations to Visit in Djibouti

Though it occupies a tiny corner in Northern Africa, Djibouti has copious amounts of beauty and sites that you really can’t believe unless you’ve seen them for yourself. Few places have such a variety of landscapes – like volcanoes, sinking plains, limestone chimneys with steam coming from the top, salt lakes, grand canyons, and gorgeous plateaus.
For those that love outdoor adventure, you’ll have plenty to keep you busy here. Enjoy snorkelling with the sharks, diving, kite surfing, and hiking. The country isn’t overly developed outside of the capital so spending time here makes for the perfect eco-travel experience as you get a peek of ancient nomadic life.

Equatorial Guinea (Spanish: Guinea Ecuatorial), officially the Republic of Equatorial Guinea (Spanish: República de Guinea Ecuatorial, French: République de Guinée équatoriale, Portuguese: República da Guiné Equatorial), is a small country located in Central Africa, with an area of 28,000 square kilometres (11,000 sq mi). It has two parts, an insular and a mainland region. The insular region consists of the islands of Bioko (formerly Fernando Pó) in the Gulf of Guinea and Annobón, a small volcanic island south of the equator. Bioko Island is the northernmost part of Equatorial Guinea and is the site of the country's capital, Malabo. The island nation of São Tomé and Príncipe is located between Bioko and Annobón. The mainland region, Río Muni, is bordered by Cameroon on the north and Gabon on the south and east. It also includes several small offshore islands (such as Corisco, Elobey Grande, and Elobey Chico).

Formerly the colony of Spanish Guinea, its post-independence name evokes its location near both the equator and the Gulf of Guinea. Apart from the Spanish territories of Canary Islands, Ceuta and Melilla on the coast of Morocco, and Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (a.k.a. Western Sahara), it is the only country in Africa whose de jure official language is Spanish.

Since the mid-1990s, Equatorial Guinea has become one of sub-Sahara's largest oil producers. With a population of 650,702, it is the richest country per capita in Africa, and its gross domestic product (GDP) per capita ranks 69th in the world;[9] However, the wealth is distributed very unevenly and few people have benefited from the oil riches. The country ranks 144th on the UN's 2014 Human Development Index. The UN says that less than half of the population has access to clean drinking water and that 20% of children die before reaching five.

The authoritarian regime ruling Equatorial Guinea has one of the worst human rights records in the world, consistently ranking among the worst of the worst in Freedom House's annual survey of political and civil rights. Reporters Without Borders ranks President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo among its predators of press freedom. Human trafficking is a significant problem, with the US Trafficking in Persons Report, 2012, stating that Equatorial Guinea is a source and destination for women and children subjected to forced labor and sex trafficking. The report rates Equatorial Guinea as a Tier 3 country, the lowest (worst) ranking: Countries whose governments do not fully comply with the minimum standards and are not making significant efforts to do so.

Equatorial Guinea is in west central Africa. The country consists of a mainland territory, Río Muni, which is bordered by Cameroon to the north and Gabon to the east and south, and five small islands, Bioko, Corisco, Annobón, Elobey Chico (Small Elobey), and Elobey Grande (Great Elobey). Bioko, the site of the capital, Malabo, lies about 40 kilometers (25 mi) off the coast of Cameroon. Annobón Island is about 350 kilometers (220 mi) west-south-west of Cape Lopez in Gabon. Corisco and the two Elobey islands are in Corisco Bay, on the border of Río Muni and Gabon.

Equatorial Guinea lies between latitudes 4°N and 2°S, and longitudes 5° and 12°E. Despite its name, no part of the country's territory lies on the equator—it is in the northern hemisphere, except for the insular Annobón Province, which is about 155 km south of the equator.

Equatorial Guinea spans several ecoregions. Río Muni region lies within the Atlantic Equatorial coastal forests ecoregion except for patches of Central African mangroves on the coast, especially in the Muni River estuary. The Cross-Sanaga-Bioko coastal forests ecoregion covers most of Bioko and as well as the adjacent portions of Cameroon and Nigeria on the African mainland, and the Mount Cameroon and Bioko montane forests ecoregion covers the highlands of Bioko and nearby Mount Cameroon.

The São Tomé, Príncipe, and Annobón moist lowland forests ecoregion covers all of Annobón, as well as São Tomé and Príncipe.

Top 4 things to do in Haus Khas Village, Delhi

Situated in South Delhi, Hauz Khas is a place whose heart lies in Hauz khas Complex. If I say, then it is a must to visit place, at least once in a lifetime. This is a place where you can get loads of joy, sightseeing (viz. 13th century India) and never ending masti. If we try to break up the words then, “Hauz” means “lake” and “khas” means “Royal” and thus, by combining them we get “Royal Lake” which is the true essence of the word “Hauz Khas”.

STRUCTURE
The Hauz Khas complex houses a tomb, a water tank, an Islamic Seminary, a Mosque and pavilions built around the urbanized village. It is a place which everybody likes to visit over and again. The notable structures built by Firuz Shah on the eastern and northern side of the reservoir consisted of the Madrasa, the small Mosque, the Main tomb for himself and six domed pavilions in its precincts, which were all built between 1352 and 1354 A.D. It is the best place to see the legacy of the Mughal Empire.

EATERIES
This place is a must to visit place for young guns. Yes, the food quality is awesome. It is good and decently priced with lot of options to choose from. The Strawberry Cheesecake shake and the Mudpot shake are also nice. In my point of view, this is the best place to hangout in Delhi. Enriched with a lot of local and International food and retail brands this is a perfect place for shopping and fooding in south Delhi.

HOW TO REACH
For the delhites it’s easier to reach there. They just simply can book a taxi or a bus or a rickshaw (if live in vicinity), to reach this wonderful place. For the rest of the people who live outside Delhi can reach there by travelling in metro and reaching “Hauz Khas Metro Station”. After reaching the station it’s just hardly 5-7 min walking distance. For International visitors- The domestic terminal of Indira Gandhi International Airport (Terminal 1) is 11 kilometers from Hauz Khas while the international terminal (Terminal 3) is 16 kilometers. If you want to travel by train then, Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station lies 8 kilometers away.

FOR VISITORS
The complex is open for visitors all days of the week from 10 AM to 6 PM and there is no entry fee. The Deer Park at the entry to the tank is a beautifully landscaped lush green park where spotted Deers, peacocks, rabbits, guinea pigs and variety of birds around the tank could be seen. The Ministry of Tourism of Government of India is in the process of setting up India's first night bazaar at Hauz Khas to be called the Eco Night Bazaar.

Benin Tourist Attractions Best Places To Visit In Benin Republic
Benin played a key role in the development of the African slave trade and was also the birthplace of the voodoo arts. These two ingredients are just a small part of the recipe that makes the complex and rich history of the African nation.

The nation is relatively small and has only a few large cities but Benin begs to be explores and rewards travellers with museums, wonderful architecture and markets that are truly memorable.

The national beauty of Benin also has a lot to tempt tourists. From the paradise Atlantic beaches fringed with palm trees to the national parks teeming with exotic beasts such as lions, cheetahs and elephants as well as rare bird species.

1 Cotonou
It may not be the true capital city of Benin but Cotonou sure does feel like it. The city is an intense blast of urban energy combined with African charm. If it is your first time in Africa, the city can be a little bit daunting and full on but for those willing to risk the adventure, Cotonou has plenty of rewards These rewards include a number of stunning paradise beaches with golden sand and palm trees. The Pendjari National Park is also a must see in Cotonou and is seen as one of the leading animal reserves in Africa.
2 Ouidah Museum of History
Ouidah is a city that has a mix of influence from the French and the Portuguese due to various events in history. The city is located about 40km away from Cotonou and in contrast is more relaxed. If all the history gets too much for you, there are more stunning beaches to laze on in Ouidah too.

Abomey was the capital of Ancient Dahomey for around 300 years starting in the 17th Century. The main attraction and reason for visiting the city is the Unesco World Heritage Site of the Abomey Royal Palaces. Although the palaces have largely been destroyed and are in a ruinous state, the site still has enormous historical value and the tales of kings that once resided here are fascinating.

There are many backside hotels and resorts in the town and the beaches are a great place to relax and swim.
