THE BEST THINGS TO DO IN DOMINICA

Dominica is fast becoming my favourite country in the Caribbean. Unlike a lot of other islands around with beautiful pristine beaches and packed holiday resorts, Dominica is a million miles away from that.

It’s this wild, rugged island that looks straight out of Jurassic Park. Honestly, everywhere you look is just so lush and green. I guess that’s why it’s known as “the nature island of the Caribbean”.

Well, if you’re wondering what to do in Dominica then you’ve come to the right place. Check out my video to see the best things to do in Dominica!

DOMINICA: The amazing nature of this Caribbean Island Cinematic

Welcome to the beautiful Caribbean Islands of Dominica! My journey through Dominica was one of fresh mangos and broad smiles, rugged canyons and black sand beaches, towering waterfalls and parrot coated rainforests. See why the wild side of the Caribbean stole my heart, and why it's a true gem in the Caribbean!

*Video filmed while on a press trip with Discover Dominica*

We call it Dominica

No, it’s not the Dominican Republic; welcome to Dominica, the nature island!

Dominica is situated between Guadeloupe and Martinique in the Caribbean, and is 300 square miles of paradise. With the highest concentration of dormant volcanoes in the world, there’s an endless supply of hot springs and warm streams and even warm bubbles caressing you from the ocean floor. Two-thirds of the island is covered in tropical rainforest, resulting in the lushest landscapes and most magnificent canyons and waterfalls you’ll ever see.

There were so many highlights on our trip to Dominica, but the main ones we featured in this video were the hike to Boiling Lake in the UNESCO-listed Morne Trois Pitons National Park and seeing sperm whales in the open ocean—Earth’s largest toothed predator—right up close. What set Dominica apart from everywhere else is that you’ll have these spectacular beaches, waterfalls, hot springs, and natural wonders all to yourself. And last but definitely not least, you’ll get to meet some of the kindest and most warmhearted people on the planet!

Dominica the Nature island of the Caribbean // Review of TOP attractions

Resting in the heart of the Eastern Caribbean archipelago between Martinique and Guadeloupe, you find one of the best-kept secrets - the island is a verdant tapestry of lush rainforests, towering mountains, rushing rivers, welcoming waterfalls, and volcanic wonders! Unspoiled and unrivaled! You will be warmly welcomed by smiling and friendly locals who inhabit this wonderful place that officially known as Commonwealth of Dominica - The Nature Island of the Caribbean.

Time in Dominica isn't a just vacation. It's a discovery!
A discovery of what Nature — its eternal beauty, its breathtaking vistas, its primal power—can do to nourish your soul, delight your senses, and drown your cares.

Let’s go to explore some of the best spots on the island with us and prepare to fall in love with Dominica!

In this Episode you will be:
- Marveling at the serenity of the Indian River, taking a tour with a knowledgeable local guide;
- Enjoying some poetry of our young Alëna who has written it inspired by unsurpassed natural beauty of Dominica ???????? ;
- Shivering under the chilly wind in a height of over 2,500 ft above sea level while visiting the Freshwater lake - the largest of Dominica’s 4 lakes and the source of the Roseau River;
- 'Ti tou' means 'little-throat' in Creole and this gorge was formed by volcanic lava which cooled and split open, leaving this natural cave. Swim right inside to find a gushing waterfall, sparkling with light filtered from the forest canopy above.
- Hiking through a forest of ginger plants and vanilla orchids toward twin Trafalgar Falls is spectacular and pleasant and waterfalls themselves are incredibly impressive!
- Driving along the Atlantic side of Dominica, having enchanted by breathtaking vistas, passing by Calibishie - the main village on the scenic north coast - the home to a dramatic mosaic of steep cliffs, red rocks, and rivers gushing down from the mountains.
- Visiting Carib territory. Dominica has the largest remaining tribe of Carib Indians, also called Kalinago people. It believed that they have originally come from South America and represent the last remaining tribe of the pre-columbian Carib Indians going back to about 3000 B.C. Nestled amid banana and breadfruit trees, the village is a cluster of traditional wooden buildings. You can wander around the village and watch the Carib Indians carving dugout canoes, weaving baskets and mats, and sharing their knowledge of medicinal plants. The Caribs survive through fishing and agriculture as well as the crafts they sell to visitors.
- Taking a Dip in cooling emerald green water of Emerald Pool. Once you leave the developed areas of Roseau, you travel through pristine forests with valleys, streams and waterfalls.
- Stepping back in Dominica’s European past and spending a beautiful time discovering Fort Shirley, part of the Cabrits National Park, which located on a scenic peninsula just north of Portsmouth.

We hope you enjoyed our little journey! This was a brief review, but we would want you not missing a single breathtaking moment in this untouched emerald paradise. There is so many more to see!

Tourist attractions in Dominica Island

Dominica is an island republic. The capital, Roseau, is located on the leeward side of the island. Dominica has been nicknamed the Nature Isle of the Caribbean for its natural environment.

It is the youngest island in the Lesser Antilles, and in fact it is still being formed by geothermal-volcanic activity, as evidenced by the world's second-largest hot spring, called Boiling Lake.

The island has lush mountainous rainforests, and it is the home of many rare plants, animals, and bird species.

Dominica Travel | The mountainous Caribbean nature island

Dominica Travel | The mountainous Caribbean nature island

Welcome to my channel and this week’s video is about Dominica Travel, The mountainous Caribbean nature island.

Known as The Nature Island of the Caribbean, Dominica remains an unspoiled paradise for divers, hikers, and naturalists. It is the largest of the Windward Islands and features dramatic volcanic landscapes with the highest mountains in the Eastern Caribbean, lush rainforests, waterfalls, lakes, gorges, rivers, and steamy hot springs.
The rugged coastline shelters rustic coastal villages and rocky black-sand beaches, many of which are good snorkeling or diving spots.

Dominica is a fusion of British, French, and West Indian cultures, and is home to the Eastern Caribbean's largest Carib Indian community. Colorful Roseau, the main town and capital of the island, reflects these eclectic roots in its food, art, languages, and customs.
Due to the fact that only two small airports service the island, Dominica remains untouched by package tourism and the large-scale resorts found on other islands.
Many people visit Dominica on a day trip from a cruise ship or multi-day trip from other nearby islands. Others spend the winter in Dominica to escape colder climates and enjoy the island's stunning natural splendors.

In this Dominica Travel Vlog 2020, I will explain you about How to Travel to Dominica? Tips for Dominica travel budget, Dominica top attractions, Things to see and do in Dominica. Best places to visit in Dominica.
This is Dominica Travel reviews for your future Dominica Vacation planning.

Top-Rated Attractions & Places to Visit in Dominica ❤️ | Curiosity Juice | Country Tour #49

You will definitely would wish to travel to Dominica after watching this video. It is often known as The Nature Island of the Caribbean due to its spectacular, lush, and varied flora and fauna, which are protected by an extensive natural park system. The most mountainous island of the Lesser Antilles, its volcanic peaks are cones of lava craters and include Boiling Lake, the second-largest thermally active lake in the world. Should not be confused with the Caribbean nation of the Dominican Republic.

Cities
Roseau — capital
Portsmouth — the second largest city in Dominica.
Scott's Head — beautiful village at the end of the road on the southwest corner. Scott's Head wraps around the lip of a gently curved bay that happens to be the ancient crater of a volcano. Luckily for divers you can bring your own snorkel or scuba gear and walk out and admire what remains, a 160m deep coral lined hole that stretches for hundreds of metres. Several quaint shacks serve decent fare for decent prices. Villagers are curious as visitors are few. The main road ends at a small point on a hill that provides stunning views of both Scott's Head below and Roseau to the north.
Calibishie — Stretching from the rugged mountains of Pennville, through the picturesque fishing village of Calibishie to the crashing surf of the Marigot beaches, the Calibishie Coast is one of the few areas in the world where you can travel from the seashore to the littoral forest to the rain forest in little more than a mile. Experience palm-fringed beaches, freshwater rivers with secluded bathing pools, tumbling waterfalls and the soft wonder of the rain forest with its exotic birds and lush vegetation, all in a days' walk.

Destinations
Melville Hall
Toucari Bay — Toucari is a small fishing village located on the northwest coast of Dominica. The calm caribbean bay boasts some of the best snorkeling and dive sites in the country. The “Trou Quarre” was the French name for the sandy cove north of Douglas Bay, but today it is written as Toucari.
Waitukubuli National Trail — A 115-mile (184km) hiking trail from the southern tip of the island (in the town of Scots Head) to the Cabrits National Park (near Portsmouth) in the northwest. Much of the terrain is lush rainforest and/or steep mountain trails, but some parts are on roadways. It goes through the Carib territory.
Morne Trois Pitons National Park — A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it contains many attractions such as the Boiling Lake, the Freshwater Lake, Boeri Lake and Middleham Falls. Boiling Lake is a 12 mile round trip hike (8 hours), very steep mostly on steps and switchbacks.
Champagne — A snorkelling spot on the southern coast, underwater volcanic vents emit continuous streams of bubbles making the place feel like a giant glass of champagne. The fish and coral are slightly below average.
Glassy — An incredible and short 2-3 hour day hike in the southeast of the island. The trail begins nicely enough through some farm land and then plunges into a deep jungle valley then approaches the coast skirting steep cliffs to one side (not for those with vertigo). The trail ends on an old volcanic flow that juts into the ocean, waves roll all around crashing on all sides, little ponds collect some of the water from the crashing waves and some coral and fish make the ponds their home.
Jaco Steps — Ford the creek in Belles and hike into the a rain forest up the side of a nearly inaccessible forest plateau. In 30 minutes you will reach the Jaco Steps.
Central Region — The lushly forested and hand-farmed central region is sparsely populated and considered by many to be the most beautiful region. It consists of several villages:
Belles
Penrice
Dleau Gommier
Wet Area
Stone Hill
Jacco Estate Currently a rain forest with a few small farms, previously a coffee plantation and prior to that, the headquarters of the Maroons.

A Tourist's Guide to Dominica

Dominica: Country number 8 of 10 on my Caribbean island hop by plane.

This time I fly into Dominica: the Nature Isle. I see the capital, Roseau, and then take a drive to the north, seeing some of the destruction caused by Hurricane Erica, a year on.
