⭐️ BEAUTIFUL NORTHERN NORWAY (Senja / Troms / Vesterålen / Arctic Circle) AERIAL DRONE + FPV 4K HDR

Finally, it's time to return to Norway. The Senja region remains a hidden gem for travellers. Before exploring Senja, we will also visit the Vesterålen. These islands lie 200 to 400 kilometres north of the Arctic Circle, above the Lofoten Islands.

Few landscapes in Norway offer as many different impressions as the island of Senja. When the weather is sunny, it's like finding paradise on earth. Mighty mountains rise almost 1,000 metres above deep blue waters. Small beaches exude a Caribbean atmosphere, while the gentle green of the inland forests invites you to relax and rejuvenate. But when rain and fog set in, the region suddenly reveals its rugged side, and it is easy to see why the mountain range in the north is called Djevlens Tanngard, the Devil's Teeth.

Senja is often referred to as Norway in miniature, as it has everything that makes up Norway: fjords, steep cliffs, rock formations, trolls, waterfalls, the Northern Lights, reindeer and elk. The unspoilt nature and vastness of the island is truly captivating.

Most foreigners have never heard of this island, but the locals know the beauty of Senja. You won't find cruise ships or overcrowded sightseeing buses here, which preserves Senja's authenticity.

The Lofoten islands, just south of Senja, have unfortunately become overcrowded. There used to be a supermarket every 50 kilometres, but this has changed considerably. See more videos here:

The Beaches of Lofoten Norway by Drone 4K

Set in the north of Norway, beyond the Arctic Circle are the Lofoten Islands, a land of other-worldly beauty. A virtual wilderness, this is a place where mountains rise out of the sea forming deep fjords and scenery of staggering proportions.

Nestled between some of these majestic peaks, and backed by lush green valleys are some of the most beautiful beaches you will find anywhere on earth. Expanses of white sand meet crystal clear, turquoise waters of the Arctic Ocean.

Whilst definitely not tropical, the sea temperature here is actually a little warmer than you might imagine. This is courtesy of the Gulf Stream and means that you can surf here all year round.

If you like tourism and travelling this channel is exactly for you.
In this channel, I will show you the nature of Bulgaria and Europe with many drone footages. Life in the Arctic Circle - Northern Norway

DIRECTOR’S NOTES:
Antoine Janssens here. I am the writer, director and filmmaker of Life in the Arctic Circle - Northern Norway

I’m a 29 year old movie director, photographer and storyteller. I’m extremely passionate about sharing positive messages through emotional content. I’ve been fortunate to travel the world and experience it’s diversity. Meeting different cultures, people and experiencing the richness of wildlife, nature and untouched places.

LIFE IN THE ARCTIC CIRCLE
This movie is something that I’ve wanted to do for a long time. The North and everything up there fascinates me. Especially during the winter season. Huge untouched landscapes, rough weather that constantly changes, rich wildlife and people who live through this daily.

In February 2019 I went with my girlfriend to northern Norway to spend a few days there. I couldn't resist the urge to film everything I saw. There was so much beauty up in the Arctic.

When I got home, I saw the potential of my footage and knew there was more that I could do with it. However, I was missing key elements that could turn this into a story. A few months later, I returned to the same place to complete what I had already created. But this time with very concrete content and story ideas. For this trip I was accompanied by my good friend
Florian Fatton, who is a great photographer, and Michel Janssens (my dad), who like me loves the Nordic culture.

Creating content up there is unique. Everything is beautiful (landscapes, lights etc ...) but it’s not easy. It’s dark almost all of the time in winter. We only had 2 hours of real light per day!

This movie is a short story about a man from the Sami tribe who’s lived up there for his entire life. It's also the first video of a series of others that I’m working on... ☺

LOFOTEN ISLANDS BY DRONE | 4K | Norway’s beautiful landscape!

Lofoten is an archipelago and a traditional district in the county of Nordland in Norway. Lofoten has distinctive scenery and is one of the world's northernmost populated regions with a lot of breathtaking villages like of Reine. With red and white fishermen’s huts dotting and surrounding rocks of granite shooting out of the Reinefjorden, the village has earned a reputation as “the most beautiful place in the world.

With this video, I again had the opportunity to focus entirely on editing, video design and the combination of shots and music to create my own personal image of this unique place.

I hope you enjoy the sights and that you like what you see. And of course I would be happy if you like and comment it, and please feel free to share the link to my video. Thanks a lot in advance.

The music title „The Greatest“ was composed by Richard Canavan and licensed via Premiumbeat.
The shots were taken by Dominick Anskis and licensed via Artgrid.

Greenland - Since 8 years I'm traveling to this magical country. Today quiet and untouched places are becoming more and more rare. On my first visit to Greenland, I was fascinated by the incredible power of nature that can be felt everywhere. But during the last years things have changed. The amount of icebergs is increasing savagely. Glaciers I'm visiting every year are retreating not meters but kilometers a year and the unending amount of ice seems to be endless. There is nothing more beautiful than an iceberg - everyone is unique and the light reflecting from its surface is magical. It's sad how close beauty and decay can be seen in an iceberg. This movie is is an appreciation to the ice - for me the most amazing aggregate state of water.

Behind the scenes
For this short film I travelled to Greenland with my drones several times. Always with the target of a certain region in a certain light situation. The shots from the calving glacier took me 4 days at the Eqi Glacier and over 70 battery charges for only 4 usable shots of a few seconds. It's a very hard intention to film the very right moment on a glacier front of about 6km wide - especially close up. But the hardest thing of flying in Greenland is the fact, that every 2-3 minutes the difference between the magnetic north and the geographic north (which are not the same place - especially so far north) causing a fatal p-gps flight error and the drone is flying away (also the camera's horizon). But at the end every single flight was worth it - filming Icebergs from above is one of the most beautiful things I've ever done. Additionally I used the drone to scout the landing spot and look for polar bears. The best thing for bears and humans is to not meet each other on shore.

Nusfjord, Lofoten 4K - Norway by Drone

Lofoten (Norwegian pronunciation: is an archipelago and a traditional district in the county of Nordland, Norway. Lofoten has distinctive scenery with dramatic mountains and peaks, open sea and sheltered bays, beaches and untouched lands. There are two towns, Svolvær and Leknes – the latter is approximately 169 km (105 mi) north of the Arctic Circle and approximately 2,420 km (1,500 mi) away from the North Pole. The archipelago experiences one of the world's largest elevated temperature anomalies relative to its high latitude.
There is evidence of human settlement extending back at least 11,000 years in Lofoten, and the earliest archaeological sites are only about 5,500 years old, at the transition from the early to late Stone Age. Iron Age agriculture, livestock, and significant human habitation can be traced back to c. 250 BC.

Svolvær in Lofoten, Norway. View from the ferry harbour
The town of Vågan (Norse Vágar) is the first known town formation in northern Norway. It existed in the early Viking Age, maybe earlier, and was located on the southern coast on eastern Lofoten, near today's village Kabelvåg in Vågan municipality. The Lofotr Viking Museum with the reconstructed 83-metre-long (272 ft) longhouse (the largest known) is located near Borg on Vestvågøy, which has many archeological finds from the Iron Age and Viking Age.

The islands have for more than 1,000 years been the centre of great cod fisheries, especially in winter, when the cod migrate south from the Barents Sea and gather in Lofoten to spawn. Bergen in southwestern Norway was for a long time the hub for further export of cod south to different parts of Europe, particularly so when trade was controlled by the Hanseatic League. In the lowland areas, particularly Vestvågøy, agriculture plays a significant role, as it has done since the Bronze Age.

In March 1941 the islands were raided by British Commandos during Operation Claymore, and in a subsequent diversionary attack to support the Vaagso raid in December.

As of 2017, the islands attract one million tourists a year.

Lofoten is a horst ridge of bedrock. The rocks of Lofoten belong to the wider Western Gneiss Region of Norway. Some of the high relief and irregular surfaces of Lofoten has been attributed to etching that took place during the Mesozoic Era. Evidence of this would be the kaolinite found at some locations. To the northwest the Lofoten archipelago is bounded by the NE–SW-trending West Lofoten Border Fault. This is a normal fault whose fault scarp has been eroded forming a strandflat.

In Vestvågøya mountains have steep slopes towards the open sea in the northwest and southeast while slopes pointing towards the interior of the island are more gentle. This is the result of erosion acting on a landscape that has been uplifted along NE–SW-trending faults in the margins of Lofoten while the interior axis has remained more stable. In tectonic terms mountains are half-grabens and faults are of the dip-slip type.

The sea around Lofoten is known to host significant oil reserves: 1.3 bn barrels. Oil extraction in the Lofoten area is prohibited

Lofoten features a mostly subpolar oceanic climate (Cfc) under the Köppen climate classification, although some parts like Skrova features a temperate oceanic climate (Cfb). Winter temperatures in Lofoten are extremely mild considering its location north of the Arctic Circle – possibly has the largest positive temperature anomaly in the world relative to latitude. The mild winters are a result of the temperate waters of the Norwegian Sea, which is warmed by the North Atlantic Current and the Norwegian Current. The mild air (Lows) from the Atlantic having a free path northwards even in winter is also very significant.

Strong winds can occur in late autumn and winter. Snow and sleet are not uncommon in winter. The mountains can have substantial amounts of snow, and avalanches may come down from the steep slopes.

In Svolvær, the sun is above the horizon continuously (midnight sun) from 25 May to 17 July, and in winter the sun does not rise from 4 December to 7 January. In Leknes, the sun is above the horizon from 26 May to 17 July, and in winter the sun does not rise from 9 December to 4 January.

Flying over Lofoten - Norway's best islands by drone

Lofoten is an archipelago off the north west coast of Norway well known for their natural beauty, rugged landscape and unique light. Anchored above the Arctic Circle the purple mountains, green meadows, bright fishing boats and rust-red cottages on stilts are mirrored in a Caribbean-blue sea, consequently the islands have long proved inspirational for artists and photographers.
I have only spent a little more than two days at the lofoten and the weather was not favorable. Despite this I did my best to briefly tell you about these beautiful islands! I hope you enjoy the video, your comments are welcome!
