Slovenia: Triglav National Park (4K) // August '19

A summertime visit to Slovenia's Triglav area, a region that mesmerized me and left me in awe! The Soca river curving through the valleys like a cold, blue snake, Lake Bled with it's castle and iconic 'wishing bell' church on the island, serene lake Bohinj, mirroring the mountains surrrounding it... This won't be the last time I visit this little peace of heaven.

Lake Bohinj & Triglav National Park | DJI MINI 3 - RELAXATION FILM | Slovenia [4K]

Lake Bohinj and Triglav National Park are located near Lake Bled, Slovenia. They are a beautiful part of the Julian Alps. Deep, steep glacial valleys covered by green forests and rocky landscapes surround Lake Bohinj, the largest permanent natural lake in Slovenia. It is a well known travel destination for many Europeans. It is surrounded by Mount Vogel and Triglav, the highest mountain in all of Slovenia with an elevation of 2,864 meters. The crystal clear water running from the mountain streams is so beautiful and small rivers flow along numerous ravines and beautiful gorges (Vintgar, Mlinarica and Mostnica). This smaller streams merge into two large rivers, the Sava and the Soča, which divide the Adriatic and Black Sea.

The endless beauty of this diverse landscape is rounded up by the exceptional richness of flora and fauna. Numerous rare and protected plants and animals live here. Wild wolves, bears and steinbocks belong to the large animals living in the National Park. In this area of wonderful nature, many myths, and legends, people still live as they used to, in complete harmony with nature and a strong feeling for tradition. Cozy, old farms and unique homesteads typical of the locale can be found in remote corners of the park.

This 4K relaxation film can be used in many ways. It is the perfect way to take a break from the daily hustle and find some relaxation and peace. You can use our videos as a beautiful background video, screensaver or video walls.

Slovenia-Trekking In Triglav National Park

August, 2023. The highlight of our trip through Slovenia was a five day trek in Triglav National Park. We summited Mt. Triglav on day two, and spent the rest of the trek hiking through the incredible mountains and staying at picturesque huts along the way. We couldn’t have asked for better weather and we really feel the Julian Alps is now one of our favorite hiking destinations.

Vintgar Gorge // Triglav National Park // Slovenia [4k]

Experience the most intact nature of Bled in the first touristically arranged gorge in Slovenia. The Vintgar gorge is 1600 m long and till 250 m deep gorge on the eastern part of Triglav National Park, 4 kilometers northwest from the center of Bled.
The Radovna river cuts the Vintgar gorge deep between the hills of Hom and Boršt. The gorge is flanked by steep slopes overgrown with beech forests. It was discovered in 1891 by Mr. Jakob Žumer, mayor of Gorje, and Mr. Benedikt Lergetporer, a cartographer and photographer from Bled. Both were amazed by the beauty and the mysterious character of this natural attraction. Local people, however, have always viewed the gorge with awe and respect.
In 1893 the gorge was opened to the public. Constructing a secured tourist trail through the wild gorge was a demanding and an extremly dangerous task. The roar of the fettered Radovna river echoes along the 1.600 m long gorge, full of small waterfalls, rapids and erosion potholes where the river briefly slows down its pace. Trails, narrow passages and bridges lead a visitor to the end of the gorge, witch is marked by the magnificiant, 16 m high waterfall Šum, the highest fluvial waterfall in Slovenia.

The Vintgar gorge is closed to public in the winter period.

SLOVENIA | Hiking in the Julian Alps: Tolmin Gorge & Slap Kozjak

Welcome back to another Slovenia vlog! Today we are exploring the beauty of the Julian Alps!

In this video we take 2 short hikes in Triglav National Park.

First, we did a short 3.5km hike to one of Slovenia's most stunning waterfalls. This short hike is called Slap Kozjak. The hike is right outside of Kobarid and is part of the Kobarid Historic Trail that highlights all the major sites in the area. You could consider hiking the historic trail if you wanted something longer!

The next day we hiked the Tolmin Gorge, also known as Tolminska Korita. It is a gorgeous natural wonder and one of the most popular attractions in the Soča Valley area. This hike should take you no more than 1.5 hours to see all the viewpoints. This hike was a highlight of our time in Slovenia, although we enjoyed every moment we spent in this beautiful country!

Thanks for watching!

The Triglav National Park (Slovenia) Vacation Travel Video Guide

Travel video about nature park Triglavski Noradni Park.
The Triglav National Park begins on the northern edge of the triangular border of Slovenia, Italy and Austria in Kranjska Gora. This, the best known and most well equipped ski resort in Slovenia, is growing in popularity each year, including the summer months. The first mountain massifs of the Julian Alps reflect in the small Lake Jansa which lies just beyond Kranjska Gora en route to the Vrsic Pass. The high rising Slovenian Alps are one of the most little known yet most beautiful alpine regions in Europe, a mysterious, unspoiled landscape and the realm of the zlatorog, a goat with golden horns! In this natural paradise, Europe’s wildest and most romantic river is born, the Soca, the ‘emerald’ river. Geologically, the landscape of the Upper Soca is relatively young and rugged with deep cut valleys and few flat areas. Its characteristic appearance was formed by the action of a glacier and water erosion formed a valley. Near Bovec, the Koritnica Valley begins and ascends to Italy’s, Passo Del Predil. A tranquil valley end with wonderful views and a few small villages which are romantic in summer but that can be treacherous in winter. Each summer an historic steam train travels through the Triglav National Park and both the Baca and Soca Valleys to Nova Gorica, a wonderful journey on a slow train through a green and fertile landscape. Near Lake Bohinj is the park’s cultural landscape, an experiment that seems to be a success. The tranquil village of Stara Fuzina is situated on the gentle and sun blessed slopes of the Triglav Mountains where both agriculture and nature conservation are closely related and the farms have been preserved in all of their past glory. The Triglav National Park impresses with its beautiful, contrasting scenery, bare mountains, deep valleys, wild water, blossoming alpine flowers, high mountains as well as breathtaking waterfalls and glacial lakes. Truly a natural paradise in the heart of Europe!

Savica Waterfall | Triglav National Park | Bohinj, Slovenia [4k]

THE MAGNIFICENT SAVICA WATERFALL

Your time spent in Bohinj would not be complete without a day trip to one of Slovenia’s greatest waterfalls. To reach the waterfall it’s a roughly 30 minutes walk up a thickly forested slope. The waterfall itself drops a towering 78m into a large water sink, which is located at an altitude of 500m. An inspirational sight, it has often been written about by well-known Slovenian poets and writers. A small entrance fee is required at the entrance to the site.

The Savica Waterfall is the source of the Sava Bohinjka, known under the name of Savica to the spot where it flows into Lake Bohinj. It is one of the must-see sights for Bohinj first-timers, and it is possible that you will join those who visit Savica each and every time they come to Bohinj.

Savica is very unique among world waterfalls – its watercourse is divided into two parts in the hidden undergrounds. The famous A-shaped waterfall normally comes into sight at an altitude of 836 m and is 78 m high.

It is fed by the waters from the Valley of the Triglav Lakes and Pršivec that flow to it through a horizontal cave tunnel. The Karst cave with the source is full of syphons and lakes and is only accessible with a guide and proper equipment.

HIKING STARTING POINT
Koča pri Savici hut is a starting point for hikes to Komna and the Valley of the Seven Triglav Lakes. The first hiking trail leads from Dom Savica on the left side (not in the direction of the waterfall) through the Pekel valley. The hike to the Dom na Komni hut takes approximately three hours.

The second hiking trail goes across the bridge over the Savica by the hut and then towards Komarča. The steep and sometimes quite open but well-secured trail with magnificent views takes you first to the Črno Jezero lake and then to the hut at the Dvojno Jezero lake (a 4 to 5-hour walk).
