Puukko Knife Making - Traditional Crafts of Finland / VLOG 30 - Cycling around the world

Summer arrived in Lapland & the sun was  shining in the middle of the night. I cycled out of the cabin in the forest at Ylläs area. My plan is to cycle to the northern part of Finnish lapland then cross to North Norway. On my way to North i am going to pass by a town called Inari in north Lapland/Finland. One of my good friend lives in Inari, who is a black smith and makes handmade puukko knives.  Puukko knives are one the traditional crafts of Finland. which is famous world wide. In this vlog you will see how a handmade puukko blade is being forged by Juho Korteniemi!

If you want to check out Juho's craft below is Juho's facebook page and his blog and contact info:

Is the Arctic the BEST place for bikepacking? Finland – VLOG 29 – Cycling around the world

After Peyman couldn't cycle to the cabin in the forest, he decides to go a laavu (open shelter) close by to escape the rain the following day. In Ylläs he meets Taneli Roininen, who has been cycling around the world and designed the Arctic Bikepacking Trail. They both believe, that in the Arctic there are some of the best places for bikepacking and cycling off road. Finnish Lapland and north Norway are absolutely outstanding places for this.

We had a fun talk with Taneli and I decided to test ride one of the more challenging section of the route with my heavy setup in Norway! After meeting Taneli in Ylläs, I cycled further north on a nice dirt road and found an amazing cabin to spend the night in the forest. Like all of our videos, this also includes some nature knowledge and a how-to on making a U-head for the Click-stand.

Peymanin matka Lapin halki jatkuu.

I made a new video about Billnäs axe. The last one destroyed.

Iceland: Palli Kristjansson, Knifemaker

We went searching for Palli Kristjansson's Knife Shop, only to find it closed (he was in Spain). We could peak into his shop. Running through the snow and rain in Reykjavik, Debby spotted the store where they're sold and in we ran! The nice gentleman retrieved a pair of keys and pulled out two beautiful trays of knives. Couldn't be better!

Coffee Bay – South African Hidden Gem - EP. 151

Coffee Bay, situated in the midst of South Africa's Wild Coast, is a hidden treasure of the Eastern Cape. Beautiful beaches, picturesque cliffs, and the famous Hole in the Wall. There was no better location to unwind after a long day of riding.

In April 2017 I left Australia for a solo trip around the world on a BMW F800GS. I named it “Are We There Yet” because I don't know my final destination or the duration of this journey.

Throughout my journey, I was raising money for a young disabled child in Poland named Franek. Franek was diagnosed with cerebral palsy (weakness of the entire right side of the body) and he will require constant rehabilitation for the rest of his life. All the money raised will go directly to helping Franek and his family so he can lead a normal life as best as possible, so please donate generously:

One Year of Adventures in 7 minutes! ???? From the ARCTIC to KENYA

What a year it has been, let's REWIND! ✨
Thank you for following along on our crazy adventures. This year started out with a failed attempt to fly to Kenya. When we couldn't go, we decided to cycle across Finland to the Arctic during the coldest time of the year instead. An insane and dangerous journey to make on bicycles in February, but we had so much fun!
From the Arctic Circle in Rovaniemi, Peyman continued cycling North to Finnmark in Norway to try out the new Arctic Bikepacking route. Here are some sneak peeks of his tracks across the wilderness, we are editing the vlogs from there next ????????
Peyman spent the autumn in the beautiful forests in Lapland, and then it was time to prepare to fly to Kenya again. And this time he made it, finally back in Africa!

The winner of our 100k GIVEAWAY will be announced in our next video, which is already available on our Patreon for tiers 2 and up. ???? ????
