May 2021 ride with some members of LRC Manila. This is the greenest river I've ever seen! Our tour was cut short by the police who asked everyone to vacate the premises of the National Park. Nevertheless, we were able to enjoy the water and the view. Matagal ko nang gustong pumunta dito pero ngayon lang nakahanap ng masasamahan. Sulit!

HOW TO GET THERE:
- Ride a Five Star or Baliwag Transit bus in Cubao going to Cabanatuan. Ask the bus conductor to drop you in Gapan City. Nearest landmarks are Gapan City Puregold or SM Savemore. Fare is Php 163. Travel time is 3 - 4 hrs.
- From Gapan City Puregold, ride a Tricycle going to Minalungao National Park. Fare is around Php600 (4 pax). If you're a group of more than 10, you can rent a jeepney their going to Minalungao National Park (Php 1,000 roundtrip). Travel time is 1 hr.

Bamboo raft rental - Php 800 for 4hrs
Zipline - 100/head (one way) & 200/head (two way)
1,000 Steps to Cross - No fee
Cave Tour - Rent a tour guide in the entrance (no idea with the rate as we haven't tried it).

Visiting this natural wonder is perfect for people who wants to escape the hustle & bustle of the crowded Metro. It offers an exhilarating experience to discerning tourists because of its remote location,solace and refuge are bestowed to weary souls longing for tranquility and peace.
The park is considered as one of the few remaining natural environments in Central Luzon. It is promoted by the local Government as an ecotourism destination.

At first glance, Nueva Ecija does not look like it has anything to offer in terms of tourist attractions. It is a landlocked province, which means that there aren't any beaches around. While this might bum out beach bums (pun intended), it does not mean that Nueva Ecija does not have its roster of interesting attractions for travelers. Minalungao National Park is a protected area of the Philippines located in the municipality of General Tinio, Nueva Ecija in Central Luzon.
Minalungao National Park is a protected area and one of the few remaining natural environments in the region north of Metro Manila. Spanning over 2,000 hectares, it lures travelers with the picturesque sight of the emerald-colored Penaranda River that runs across most of the park and the towering limestone formations that border it. Adrenaline seekers also have a place in Minalungao as there are plenty of activities there that will give them their fix.

It was established in 1967 by virtue of Republic Act No. 5100.

DECEMBER 3, 2017—We finally managed to schedule a family road trip to Minalungao National Park, after seeing those awesome photos of white limestone cliffs on both sides of an emerald-green river all over social media for about a year now.
Our Minalungao road trip started from Cabanatuan City in Nueva Ecija, where we visited the House of Pink and then spent the rest of the day (and night) at the Acropolis Waterpark the previous day.
On our arrival at Minalungao National Park, we got ourselves a local guide (note: it's mandatory) and quickly set out for our first activity: a trek to one of the hilltops to visit a beautiful Glass Cross.
The original plan was for us to hire a raft and enjoy a relaxing lunch floating on the Peñaranda River. However, on the day of our visit the river's current was too strong for the rafts. Apparently, it had been raining upstream in the mountains of Sierra Madre. It is also the reason why the river didn't have its famous emerald green color. So we had lunch in one of the local restaurants instead.
After lunch we were back to the trails to check out a cave and then proceeded to the river. Since we didn't get to hire a raft for lunch due to the river's strong current, we did the next best thing to do in Minalungao under the circumstances, ride the river. Actually, if you ask us—especially Johan—the strong river current was a blessing in disguise because riding the river was just the kind of adventure we were hoping for.

Adventure at Minalungao National Park, Nueva Ecija
Minalungao National Park is a protected area of the Philippines located in the municipality of General Tinio, Nueva Ecija in Central Luzon. The place is of exquisite beauty, a wonder of nature to behold. We went there with a couple of friends and had a fun and relaxing time. Take the bamboo boat ride along the Penaranda river, Go cave spelunking inside one of the mountains of the Sierra Madre, reach its peak and have a glorious view of Nueva Ecija. Also, hike to the top of the mountain where a giant cross is mounted. But most importantly, take a relaxing swim in the cool and green waters of the Penaranda River. Enjoy!

Another is the Pampanga river, cutting across a rich valley floor, famed for irrigation, the generation of hydroelectric power, and the mitigation of flood damage.

Its other worthwhile attractions include the Minalungao National Park, Rizal Hot Spring, Burburayok Springs and Pajanutic Falls, Barrio Puncan in the town of Carranglan, among others.
