We take our campervan on a short trip to the Caravan and Motorhome Club site at Poolsbrook Country Park which is near Staveley in Derbyshire. Situated at the heart of the 165-acre Poolsbrook Country Park, this idyllic site boasts lakes for fishing, extensive trails for cyclists, walkers and dog walkers to explore and a visitor centre with cafe next door. Our top camp site for 2020 is Poolsbrook Country Park. near Chesterfield. This site is a Caravan & Motorhome Club run Facility, Very modern and with in a country park and right next to the Transpenine Trail with access just outside the site entrance. Great walking, cycling, hiking and fishing, dog walks. The facilities include all normal things like shop, reception, tourist information, motorhome service point, a very clean toilet & facility's block. Check link below for the web site. the site is very popular so book in advance. A pizza and fish & chip van attend site. If you walk around the lake check the shop out it does hot and cold food. Poolsbrook CAMC - Pumping the iron
Poolsbrook CAMC is just east of Chesterfield, Derbyshire. This was the first of a 2 site stop over which we decided to do for a bit of a change, spending just one night at each site, our other site is Chatsworth Park CAMC so watch out for our vlog on this one.
Poolsbrook CAMC is in Poolsbrook Country Park, which previously was the Ireland Colliery before being redeveloped as a Country Park
Andy tried pumping the iron
There are many things to see and do here you can travel into Chesterfield Centre, walk along the Chesterfield Canal which is a beautiful canal side walk which we did on our last visit here.
The country park park has a lot to offer too, there is a visitors centre, with toilet facilities, free car parking from dawn til dusk which accommodates 100 cars. There are cycle and horse tracks to follow, walking around the lake is lovely there are also picnic tables around so in the summer it worth taking a picnic along with you and just enjoy the scenery.

Chester Fairoaks Club site
A pleasant, open and level site bordered by oak trees and conveniently located just off the M53 gateway to North Wales and close to the delightful walled city of Chester. The site is also near a lovely canal walkway, a local swimming pool and has two pubs and shops just a short walk away.
