Approach and Landing at Union Island Airport in a Cessna 182
The flight originated in Grenada, West Indies at Maurice Bishop International Airport (TGPY) and concluded at Union Island Airport (TVSU) at Union Island, St. Vincent and the Grenadines. After a long right base (from the south), final slowly revealed Runway 08 hiding behind the populated mountain. Winds were variable on approach and sheared to calm on short final. The video features the amazing landscape as it appeared before the eruption of La Soufriere volcano on the neighboring island of St. Vincent.

Nine are inhabited, including the mainland St. Vincent and the Grenadines islands: Young Island, Bequia, Mustique, Canouan, Union Island, Mayreau, Petit St Vincent and Palm Island. The stunning Tobago Cays National Marine Park is also located within SVG. This multi-island Caribbean nation offers a combination of yacht charters, rainforest eco-adventures, scuba diving, classic Caribbean powder-white sand beaches, luxury accommodation and sailing adventures.

Please take not that i did not record this video as it was given to me by a friend who made the trip who cut the video short at parts....he was doing some island hopping and connecting on a return flight from Trinidad to St. Kitts
St Vincent is in the process of the construction of a new airport the Argyle International Airport with a 9000 feet runway that will be able to handle nonstop International flights from the US, Canada and UK...like most other islands in the Caribbean :).

Last Weekend return to Union Island- Rare Approach & Landing
Last weekend, I returned to Union Island via Grenadines Airlines De-Haviland Twin Otter 300. To my great surprise, the Captain made a rare approach and landing via the Salt Pond area into Clifton. Imagine my excitement and awe!!

Liat ATR 72-600 departing St Vincent's brand new Argyle Int'l Airport !!!!!
Argyle International Airport (IATA: SVD, ICAO: TVSA), is a newly constructed airport in St. Vincent and the Grenadines in the Eastern Caribbean. The project broke ground in 2008, and finally after a long wait the airport welcomed a Dynamic Airways 767-300 as its first ever international plane to touch down in February of 2017, but only as a chartered flight, and is still not scheduled for any passenger flights other than Liat Airlines.
A special shout out to the my Caribbean people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines for this monumental achievement :) !!!!!
