Hey guys, this is Samantha and welcome to another Mytanfeet video. in this video We are going to do part 1 of day trips in Guanacaste and these are going to be the best day trips from Tamarindo, Playas del Coco or any of the neighboring beaches. We have a lot to share with you so let's go.

Number one on our list is Rio Celeste, the sky blue river inside Tenorio Volcano National Park. Rio Celeste is the perfect day trip for hiking and nature lovers, as you will be trekking through the lush rainforest to see the waterfall and sky blue river. The entire trail is around 6 kilometers or 3.5 miles and is a must see in Costa Rica.

The next best day trip in Guanacaste is Diamante Eco Adventure Park. This adventure park is excellent for families as they have an animal sanctuary with daily sloth feeding presentations, a traditional house for a cultural experience of chocolate, coffee and sugar cane and one of the most exciting ziplining tours in the country. Their 1.3 kilometer oceanview zipline is a must do in Costa Rica for adrenaline junkies. They also offer an excellent lunch buffet.

Next is one of our most highly recommended day trips from Playas del Coco or Tamarindo, Palo Verde National Park. The Palo Verde day trip consists of a safari boat tour down the Tempisque River to see wildlife such as iguanas, bats, monkeys, crocodiles and river birds. It doesn't require any strenuous activity so Palo Verde is the perfect day trip in Guanacaste for those who are visiting with seniors or young kids as you will be riding a covered motorized riverboat and it takes about half a day so you can be back at your hotel by mid afternoon. Palo Verde offers a highly interesting and educational wildlife watching experience for all visitors.

The next day trip in Guanacaste is for the surfers, a surf trip to Witch's Rock. There are a ton of surfing beaches in Guanacaste including Tamarindo but for those looking for the ultimate surf experience, a Witch's Rock surf trip is a must. You'll boat about an hour from Playas del Coco to the iconic surf spot inside Santa Rosa National Park and on heavy days with a swell, waves can get up to 6 feet or more, ideal for those dreaming of getting barrelled in Costa Rica. On normal days, waves are absolutely perfect for longboarding and shortboarding, with long, open and glassy A-frame waves.

The last day trip in this video is the La Leona waterfall hike. This waterfall hike is only 30 minutes from Liberia and you'll be hiking in the tropical dry forest, swimming in a beautiful blue river and climbing through caves and canyons to get to a hidden cave waterfall. The La Leona waterfall hike is definitely for those looking for a memorable outdoor activity and after the fun hike, you can relax in their natural blue river pools.

I hope you guys enjoyed the video and if you're interested in any of these activities, we have links to our posts in the description below for more details and you can contact us if you want to book any of these tours. Thanks for watching and we'll see you in the next one.

Hey guys, it's Samantha here and welcome to the Mytanfeet channel. In this video, we have part 2 of the best day trips from the Guanacaste coast. If you want to see part 1, the link is below in the description, otherwise, let's get right into part 2.

In no particular order, the first Guanacaste day tour on our list is Hacienda El Viejo. Hacienda El Viejo is a privately owned farm offering 3 different types of tours: rum, cultural and boat.

Visitors can take a rum tour to learn about El Viejo's house rum made with the hacienda's own sugar cane, a cultural tour to learn how to make tortillas and press sugar cane or a wildlife watching boat tour in their private reserve to see animals like crocodiles, monkeys and iguanas.

The next day tour is one of our favorite day trips from Tamarindo because you get to experience a completely different kind of forest than at the beach and you get to see sloths. This tour goes to a sloth reserve and the Heliconias hanging bridges in Bijagua to discover the primary rainforest, walk the hanging bridges and see wildlife. This is an excellent excursion for families or any nature and animal lover and we highly recommend it as Bijagua is one of the closest and best places to see sloths and animals in the wild from the Guanacaste coast.

Next up on our list as best day trips from Playas del Coco, Flamingo or Tamarindo is scuba diving. One of the most popular islands for scuba diving is the Las Catalinas, a 30 minute boat ride from Flamingo and in Costa Rica, you don't have to be certified to scuba dive because you can go on a discovery dive which doesn't require certification. You can see turtles, manta rays, sea stars, jellyfish, tropical fish and even white tip reef sharks.

The fourth place to visit is Rincon de la Vieja National Park very close to Liberia. Visitors can hike the trails in the park to see the boiling mud pots or to the waterfalls.

Another option is to visit one of the adventure parks right outside the national park to enjoy their one day combo tours. There are several adventure parks offering fun outdoor activities like ziplining, white water tubing, horseback riding, waterfalls, hot springs and mud baths.

And lastly, La Fortuna. Although we recommend to stay a night or two in la Fortuna because it's a 3.5 hour drive from the coast so it's not close, but you can visit as a day trip from Tamarindo or Playas del Coco or Liberia. La Fortuna has a ton of fun activities such as La Fortuna waterfall, hiking around the Arenal Volcano, ziplining, safari floats, horseback riding and hot springs, which is definitely a must do.

We hope you guys found our part 2 video on the best Guanacaste day trips helpful, remember you can do any of these trips from Samara, Tamarindo, Flamingo, Playas del Coco, Liberia, La Cruz and any of the neighboring beach towns. If you guys want more information, I'll leave links to our blog posts in the description and you can also contact us to book any tours. Thanks for watching our video and we'll see you in the next one.

The Guanacaste Province is located in the northwest region of Costa Rica. It is bordered by the Pacific Ocean to the west, the province of Alajuela to the east, and the Guanacaste Mountain Range to the north. The provincial capital is Liberia.

The Guanacaste Province was first settled by the Spanish in 1524. The province was originally known as Santa Cruz de Castilla. In 1824, the province was renamed Guanacaste. The province was divided into two districts: Nicoya and Santa Cruz.

The Guanacaste Province has a rich history. The province was home to several important battles during the Costa Rican Civil War (1948-1949). The most important battle took place in the town of Santa Cruz. The battle was fought between the National Liberation Army (Ejército de Liberación Nacional - ELN) and the Costa Rican government forces. The ELN was eventually defeated and the province returned to peace.

Today, Guanacaste Province is known for its beautiful province with plenty of natural attractions.

TRANSCRIPT

Good morning you guys, welcome to another Mytanfeet video. Today we are here with Randall our friend who is an excellent naturalist guide and he's going to take us on a rainforest walk in Bijagua.

Bijagua is a small town in the Alajuela province, just 87 kilometers or 54 miles from Liberia International Airport.

This area is famous for its rainforest and nature, so for our day trip, Randall took us to the Heliconias Rainforest Lodge private reserve to walk through their protected primary rainforest.

The trail is 2.2 kilometers and normally it'll take us between 2 and 2 and a half hours depending on what we see. We pass through 3 hanging bridges, this is great because it gives us an excellent point to appreciate the canopy and the forest itself from a different perspective and point.

Having a guide take us through the tropical rainforest was an amazing experience. Randall shared with us interesting facts about the rainforest and why its so important to conserve, respect and protect nature. He also pointed out the many animals hiding in the trees like snakes, insects and birds.

So whenever you're with a guide who is really into birds or a birder, you know he always has his book and he'll show which one it is and this is what we're always looking at when we're not walking. We have to see, we have to know what we saw.

What book is that one? The Birds of Costa Rica.

And we also got to see one of our favorite reptiles of Costa Rica.

Now that is a beautiful animal!

After our hanging bridges walk, we headed to another reserve in Bijagua to see an animal that Costa Rica is very well known for. Sloths.

We are now on this second trail and the main reason we are here is to look for sloths. It's a very small family owned reserve. We can find two species of sloths here, the three toed and two toed sloths. Thanks to small projects like these, family owned, is that we have chances to see these animals in their natural habitats. In this nature serve, it's surrounded by human activity such as farming and cattle farming so it works like a small sanctuary to these types of species.

That was our day in Bijagua, Randall thank you so much for taking us we had such a great time because this is rainforest, completely different from where we live so in only a couple of hours we can experience this beautiful nature and rainforest.

Thank you you guys for visiting it's been a pleasure for me too.

Awesome, so if you guys are interested, just click on all the links in the description below and don't forget to subscribe to our channel for more Costa Rica content.

Private Gulf of Papagayo Boating Tour: Beach Hopping and Snorkeling Tour in Playas del Coco

If you're visiting the Papagayo Peninsula, Playas del Coco or any of the nearby beaches/resorts in Costa Rica, then you must book a private boating tour to experience the best of the Gulf! Go beach hopping, snorkeling, fishing, or surfing. This is one of our favorite tours in Costa Rica!

BOOK YOUR TOUR HERE:
BLOG:

TRANSCRIPT

Good morning guys and welcome to the Mytanfeet Youtube channel, this morning we are here on Coco beach to do one of our favorite tours in Costa Rica, we're going to go on a private boating tour here in the Gulf of Papgagayo.

The Gulf of Papagayo is located up in the northern part of the Guanacaste province and it is one of the most popular places in Costa Rica for ocean activities, as its known for its picturesque beaches, abundant marine wildlife, sunny weather and exclusive beach front resorts. The best way to experience the Gulf of Papagayo is on a private boating tour as you get to experience all that the Gulf is known for.

We departed from Coco beach but you can get picked up from nearby beaches such as Ocotal and Hermosa and the resorts like Planet Hollywood and the Riu.

The main advantaged of booking a private boating tour is that you guys can make the itinerary, if you guys really like one spot you can stay longer, if you're really not feeling one spot, you can ask the boat captain to leave and Marcy will go find another nice beach or another snorkeling spot for you guys.

A half day beach hopping and snorkeling tour takes you to around 3-4 spots and the full day goes to around 5-6 spots. Where you go during your tour depends on the conditions for the day and Marcy will find the best snorkeling spots and best beaches to take you.

We have now arrived at one of the beaches that the tour stops at, as you can see there's nobody here and the water is gorgeous, it's so clear and it's so pretty right here.

If you are an avid snorkeler, then this is the tour for you. Whether you're a first time snorkeler, beginner, a little nervous or an experienced snorkeler, Marcy will find the best spots for you. We did some snorkeling at the first beach we visited and the water was crystal clear. We saw so many fish swimming around the coral and also spent some time with a couple of turtles that were hanging around.

If conditions aren't ideal at this beach, Marcy will go to better spot. He also has lifejackets if you want to use one and he can snorkel with you if you want him to guide you.

During this boating tour, there are lots of opportunities to see marine wildlife such as rays, dolphins, turtles, and whales. As it's nature, it's never a guarantee to see wildlife but there are lots of chances to see them depending on when you visit. If you visit during January, February, March, July, August and September, there are high chances to see humpback whales. June through December is a great time to see mating turtles and dolphins can be seen nearly year round. February is also a great month to see rays.

we took this video at the beginning of March and were super lucky to see humpback whales, dolphins, rays and turtles.

During the tour as you go from one beach to another, you'll pass by sea caves, see the vast coastlines and watch the color of the water change. And to add more fun to your boating tour, you can request stand up paddle boards, a donut or a wakeboard.

Hey guys, welcome to another Mytanfeet video. Today we are going to talk about five popular beaches you can visit from Tamarindo.

The first beach you have to visit from Tamarindo is Conchal. To get to Conchal beach, you have to first go to the small town of Brasilito, about a 30 minute drive from Tamarindo.

After we parked our car in Brasilito, we have to walk across this beach to get to Conchal. This beach is called Playa Brasilito and it's because they closed the accesss so cars cannot drive across the beach and it's about a 15 minute walk to get to Conchal.

Before you get to Conchal beach, here's a little tip for those of you who like a good view. As soon as you get to the other end of Brasilito, there is a small hill to your right which you can walk up. Follow the trail and you'll get an amazing view of Conchal beach from the top.

One of the unique characteristics of Conchal beach is that the shore is full of beautiful white shells instead of sand.

The second beach we recommend to visit from Tamarindo is Flamingo beach. Flamingo is very easy to get to and it's about a 30 minute drive from Tamarindo. Flamingo beach is another great beach to come with family or friends, it has very beautiful white fine sand and it has great waves for swimming relaxing, and there's some bars and restaurants on the beach so it's a great spot to come for sunset happy hour.

And for another nice viewpoint, if you drive all the way to the south end of Flamingo beach and go up the hill, you can get a nice view of Brasilito and Conchal from that side.

The third beach to visit from Tamarindo is Playa Grande. It's right across the estuary of Tamarindo and the best way to get there is by car, about a 30 minute drive. Playa Grande is another beach you have to visit when in Tamarindo, it's another great surfing beach with waves nearely all year round. It's also great for long walks on the beach and is part of the Marino Las Baulas National Park.

The fourth beach to visit from Tamarindo is Playa Avellanas. It's about a 30 minute drive from Tamarindo on a mix of paved and unpaved roads. Just a note that this video was made in February, the middle of Costa Rica's dry season so the roads were very dusty and dry.

Playa Avellanas is actually one of our personal favorite beaches near Tamarindo. It has great surfing waves, beautiful sunsets, a really cool bridge that you can come check out that goes across the mangrove and some really good beach front restaurants to enjoy.

And last but not least is Playa Langosta which is only a 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk from Tamarindo. Playa Langosta is the closest beach to Tamarindo, it's right next to it and it's a great spot to come to do long beach walks and watch the sunset, and it's a great place to come to get away from the crowds of Tamarindo.

I hope you guys enjoyed the video and get to visit one of the places that we talked about. If you want more information on any of the beaches all the links are in the description below and if you want more Costa Rica content, please subscribe to our channel. Thanks for watching.
