It’s our very first time in South Korea! Wow, it feels so good to be here! In this video we take you on our first day exploring Seoul to give you our first impressions. Seoul really really blew our minds and it felt like a dream destination for us! Insane wifi, endless coffee shops and the FOOD!!! wow each bite is bursting with flavour! We explore the Myeongdong area, the older part of Seoul and even wear a traditional hanbok all whist visiting the Bukchon Hanok Village and Changdeokgung palace, this was such a fantastic way to integrate ourselves into Korea! Shev felt like a princess in her Hanbok!

Welcome to Seoul, South Korea! It is our first time traveling here and we are incredibly excited to explore this city, its food, history and find out why it has been named Asia's 'economic miracle' and share our first impressions. Seoul is a city well and truly a city of the future and we want to see how it compares to similar places we've visited in the region (for example Tokyo) and also if its location near the border with North Korea has any affect on daily life in the city. Travel to South Korea is surprisingly easy and we entered for all 90 days without a visa, so we have a lot of time to travel and explore this facinating east Asian nation.

This is OUR VERY FIRST TIME in Seoul, South Korea!! We spend 3 days exploring this INCREDIBLE COUNTRY! We can't believe we are here!
Seoul, dating back over 2,000 years is a city where centuries old traditions mesh with the latest trends. It’s also famously known for it’s cutting edge technology, K-BEAUTY, K-POP, K-DRAMAS and the world wide NetFlix phenomenon SQUID GAMES.
Of course we can’t forget the FOOD! Korean BBQ and Kimchi are enjoyed by food enthusiasts all over the world!
We take you along to the restaurants and food we enjoyed, a quick room tour at our hotel The , general costs, share the public transportation and then we’re going to explore the city visiting the Myeongdong district known for its numerous shops, ranging from global brands to local boutiques.

First Time in South Korea | 48 Hours in Seoul

We have arrived in South Korea - this is our first time here in Seoul and we are so excited to be here!
Wow we have packed in so much - I didn't know you could do this much in one city. First up - you know how much we love theme parks so we have headed to Seoul's own version of Disney - Lotte World Theme park.
After going on so many rollercoasters we worked up quite the appetite, heading to the michelin star restaurant in Lotte World tower (the 5th tallest tower in the world) to eat at Bicena and try our first Koraen dish.
Beauty treatments are massive in Korea, so no better place than heading to Jenny's House to get a hair and face treatment done. Wow was our skin clear after our visit.
To end our first day we wanted to compare the Michelin rated restaurant to the street food scene - so we headed to the Kwang Hang Night market.
In the morning we headed to Seouls only UNESCO palace -
Changdeokgung Palace to wear the traditional Korean hanbok dresses and enjoy the culture of this 16th century palace.
As we were walking the streets we went past the Gwanghwamun gate to watch the changing of gaurd before making our way to Bukchon Hanok Village, a 100 year old village with locals still living in it today.
To end our incredible 2 days here we went to San Chon restaurant to have a traditional Buddhist Dinner.

Bukchon Hanok Village in 2 Days
From Busan to Seoul, I planned to explore the Bukchon Hanok Village for the next 2 days. I ate seaweed soup for the first time and then stumbled upon Queen's Bakery & Cafe where I felt compelled to try as many bakery sweets as possible (it all looked straight out've Pinterest)!! I felt so lucky this afternoon as, it also began snowing so so much! Finishing my lemon and chocolate cakes, I danced into the snow :)
Later that evening, I checked into an Airbnb within the Bukchon Hanok Village!! The traditional hanok was absolutely magical????!
The next morning, breakfast was at the famous Onion Cafe! This cafe has been on my bucket list for agesss because it has such an aesthetic look. Not gonna lie tho, the desserts weren't thAt yum (especially considering what I ate at the Queen's Cafe yesterday)...
After renting a hanbok for 2 hours, I explored the Gyeongbokgung Palace in Seoul; which is the first palace to have been built from among the five major palaces from the Joseon dynasty (in 1392-1910). I had so much fun wearing a royal Korean dress and sightseeing the palace grounds :))
