Hello folks! My name is Olena Dovgan. Welcome to my channel. In this video I would like to share with you our dance highlights from our wedding. We had 3 wedding dances together as well as the traditional father/daughter and mother/son dances. Our first wedding dance was from the movie Dirty Dancing to the song I've had the time of my life. Our DJ messed up the speed of the song and it was slower than the original, so I adjusted the speed of the video to make it look like original dance. We practiced the lift at the end for a couple of months and because we both didn't have any acro experience it was very intimidating. Sometimes we could do it perfectly, sometimes we weren't even able to get to the lift. So it was like a lottery. On our wedding day we managed to at least get up, but I was not able to release the hand hold due to wrong weight distribution. Dirty Dancing Time Of My Life Wedding First Dance
After tying the knot on the mountain top, overlooking the stunning Megalong Valley, at the Majestic Point Look-Out, the party began! Surprise MC, Mike Goldman, AKA Big Brother Up Late Host, (who is a fantastic entertainer), introduced the Bridal Party before the couple Grand Entrance DJ Danny DaRoc played a remix version of the Wedding March, at the Bride's request! The couple then surprised guests by entering straight into the first dance re-enacting the final scene from the classic 1980's film, Dirty Dancing.
Leisha, (that's me), the Bride, tore her ACL just under 3 months prior to the big day. Bugger! This dance was performed with a trifecta of a knee injury, (Fracture of Tibial Plateau, ACL Completely Torn, Tear in the Medial Meniscus). Without any time for surgery, and a guarantee that she'd be limping down the aisle, unable to wear heels and with every possibility that the knee would give way at some point during the event, makes this all the more special :)
Huge Shout out to Evolve Dancesport Industries - who taught us the steps, step by step and are the only ones who really saw just how far we came in learning this. Jamie can move! He's a great dancer, but never had any prior experience in partner - dancing. Took a few lessons just to learn where to hold a partner when dancing in this style lol. Its more complicated than it looks but it was SO MUCH FUN learning it together! And performing it -way out of both of our comfort zones. And that zone is where LIFE really happens.
I am super proud of us!
