Usually I stay clear of Walking Street but tonight I wanted to see if the crowds have returned. Was surprised to see quite a few people out tonight . Mostly Thai people and from the amount of motorcycles I would guess most are local . Lots of sellers lots of food , lets hope things start picking up for the sellers .....

The Chiang Mai Sunday Night Market and walking street is the best market in Chiang Mai for a lot of reasons. Chiang Mai Thailand is known for having the best markets in Thailand, but the Sunday Night Market is the best because it has tons of amazing Northern Thailand street food like Khao Soi and local sausage. The Sunday Walking Street in Chiang Mai also has a great selection of artisan crafts from local Thai villages and ethnic minority tribes in Thailand. The Sunday Night Market in Chiang Mai is also HUGE! Chiang Mai closes a large part of it's Old City right next to The Phae gate to put on the Sunday night market and Sunday walking street. In 2021, they've implemented Covid measures like temperature checks, require people to wear masks, and check in to the market. Sunday Walking Street Market, Chiang Mai, Thailand. During COVID-19 Pandemic.
Sunday Walking Street is a well-known tourist attraction. It is an important landmark of Chiang Mai Province, in the north of Thailand. Every Sunday evening for its entire length, the road closes, not allowing cars to travel. The streets are lined with stalls selling local products, souvenirs, local clothing, food stalls, art, and handmade works, and Tourists are crowded along the route. There are beautiful temples on either side of the road.
After Chiang Mai becomes an area with high outbreaks, Sunday Walking Street has been closed indefinitely since April 11th, the once bustling street is now empty. There are no stalls to set. Roadside shops closed. There are very few cars that travel around. Local businesses are now much affected.
If you've been to Chiang Mai and have been to Sunday Walking Street, CHIANG MAI, THAILAND. You could not believe your eyes. The street on that day and today are so different. Let’s explore together.

Chiang Mai Sunday Night Market | Tha Phae Walking Street Market | Thailand
Chiang Mai Sunday Night Market is a large night market that takes place every Sunday in Chiang Mai in late afternoon in the center of the old city.
Located on Rachadamnoen Road, it starts from the Tha Phae Gate and extends for 1 km. The street is closed to traffic and stalls are installed in 2 aisles. Besides Rachadamnoen Road, the market also occupies a small part of Praopkloa Road, the street of Wat Pan Tao and Wat Chedi Luang.
Chiang Mai Sunday Night Market attracts many people. And foreign tourists are not the majority. There are also a lot of Thai and many residents of Chiang Mai.

Sunday walking street in Chiang Mai opened tonight after months of being closed . The crowds were more than what we ve seen in the months prior. More sellers as well . A long way to go but a start !

In our fifth day in Chiang Mai, Thailand, we start the day walking about the Walled City part of town to visit some temples and have a porridge and Thai coffee breakfast.
We then head out to the famous Chiang Mai Sunday market where we do some shopping, eat some street food and have some drinks while trying to stay dry from a storm that rolls in.

Thai Street Food At Chiang Mai Night Market, Thailand 2023 (RELOADED WITH AUDIO)
Hi everyone,
We made this video walking around Chiang Mai's Saturday Night Market on Wualai Street. This market only happens on Saturdays between approx. 5 and 10 pm. It's a big one (apparently only topped by the Sunday night market in town) and you can find all kinds of food, clothes, souvenirs, etc. at this place. You can also get a Thai massage or a manicure/pedicure at one of the many corners along the street where chairs have been set up. The later the busier this market gets, so come early if you want to look around without the crowds.

Sunday night walking street in Chiang Mai has pretty much tuned into mostly empty streets from what we are use to seeing . Few sellers out and a lot less customers . Although it was early in the evening I dont think it picked up much after the night moved on .
Walking street starts on Sunday at 4 pm and closes at 11 pm
If you would like to buy me a beer , I stopped drinking long time ago , but cops love coffee !

Il famoso mercato della domenica (Sunday Market) a Chiang Mai, prima che esplodesse la pandemia da Covid19 e i confini del paese venissero definitivamente chiusi al turismo internazionale. Vi porto a fare una passeggiata notturna al Sunday Market di Chiang Mai, uno dei mercati più famosi della Thailandia. Si svolge ogni domenica sera sulla via principale del centro storico di Chiang Mai, all'interno delle antiche mura di cinta. L'atmosfera è molto suggestiva, fra bancarelle di artigianato locale, ottimo street food e templi maestosi illuminati nella notte. Il Sunday Market di Chiang Mai è generalmente affollatissimo ma già da questo video si vede bene come il Coronavirus avesse cominciato ad affliggere il turismo in Thailandia.

Uncut video, I walked from one end to the other quite a few more out than my last walked a few months ago . I included the entire walk in the video . It was a nice night not too hot ! Things seem to be picking up slowly . I saw more foreigners this time than last .
