Misamis Occidental Laag-Laag. Day 1: Tangub City and Ozamiz City

We joined the Laag-Laag Tour sa Misamis Occidental organized by the Province of Misamis Occidental in collaboration with the Tourism Promotions Board and the Department of Tourism Region 10.
As Misamis Occidental celebrates 93rd Anniversary, we were treated to the many attractions this beautiful province can offer to travellers.
On our first day, we were treated to a delicious lunch of seafoods and lechon in Parola in Tangub City, then we were driven to the foot of Mt. Malindang where we visited the Stone Chapel in Hoyohoy, then went further up to 1,000 meters above sea level to enjoy the magnificent view of the the mountain in Belvedere View Deck also in Hoyohoy.
We then proceeded to Cotta where we tasted the best lechon and balbacua in the Philippines. We even got to jam with the band, before proceeding to our hotel in Clarin.
Indeed, Misamis Occidental is opening its doors to travelers to experience its natural attractions, heritage structures, gastronomical delights and the warmth of its ever smiling people.

Tangub City’s Hoyohoy Zipline | The longest zipline in the Philippines

Tangub’s very own Hoyohoy Highland Stone Chapel Adventure Park places the otherwise sleepy city in the province of Misamis Occidental, in the growing list of Philippine adventure destinations. This beautiful park, situated 850 MASL (meters above sea level) currently operates the longest zipline ride in the country as of this writing.

It currently has two operational rides: Line 1 is a whooping 1.5 kms and 500 meters deep while Line 2 is 1.2 kms and 400 meters deep. The more than kilometer-long ziplines essentially covers two different mountain barangays in (Hoyohoy) Tangub and (Guimad) Ozamiz. In between these two mountain ridges runs the Labo River, the source of which could be traced somewhere in the deep jungles of the Mt. Malindang Range Natural Park.

The zipline rides costs Php500.00 only.
