¡Hola, amigos! Visitamos el volcán en erupción de Cumbre Vieja, en la isla de La Palma, desde el Mirador de Tajuya, uno de los mejores puntos para contemplar el proceso eruptivo al límite de la zona de exclusión. Las vistas son impresionantes y aterradoras, pues desafortunadamente las coladas de lava sepultan viviendas, fincas y negocios, destruyendo tristemente las vidas de miles de palmeros.
El volcán aún sin nombre ruge y expulsa humo y cenizas, aunque no es su día más intenso. Lo vemos desde diferentes puntos de vista.

New drone footage showed a secondary lava stream from the erupting Cumbre Vieja volcano engulfing greenhouses and plantations on the island of La Palma, Spain as it heads for the sea.
The lava stream, which got separated from the main one which has already reached the sea, is due to touch the Atlantic ocean entering between the beaches of Los Guirres and El Charcon.
La Palma's volcano erupted for the twentieth day on Friday, laying waste to hundreds of buildings and farms, and forcing the evacuation of thousands.

Cumbre Vieja (Spanish: Old Peak, locally ['kumbɾe 'bjeha]) is a mountain range and an active volcano on the island of La Palma in the Canary Islands, Spain. The ridge of the Cumbre Vieja trends in an approximate north-south direction and covers the southern two-thirds of the island. Several volcanic craters are located on the summit ridge and flanks. It erupted twice in the 20th century, in 1949 (Volcán San Juan) and again in 1971 (Volcán Teneguía). The latest eruption started on 19 September 2021 and is currently ongoing.

My solo trip to the Cumbre Vieja volcano in La Palma (october 2021)
Impressive visit to the volcano of La Palma. It is difficult to describe in words what I experienced, in terms of geological interest (the stunning views of the volcano, its noise, volcanic lightning, ash rain, earthquakes), and in terms of emercengy management, the organization of the population, and being able to participate in volunteering work. On the other hand, it was hard emotionally, because many people have lost their homes and memories under the lava, in a matter of minutes.
