10 Best Places to Live or Retire in Costa Blanca, Spain | Explore Spain

In today's Explore Spain episode, we share with you the 10 Best Towns and Cities to Visit in Costa Blanca, Spain.

Splendid beaches, delicious cuisine, vibrant nightlife and lively fiestas all make Spain one of Europe's best getaways. Because Spain encompasses several autonomous regions and islands, the country boasts one of the most widely diverse cultures and landscapes on the continent.

Costa Blanca is a stunning region that offers something for everyone, whether you're looking to relax on the beach, explore historic landmarks, or sample delicious cuisine. Its warm climate, beautiful beaches, and stunning natural scenery make it a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to Spain.

You can explore the long stripe of the Costa Blanca (White Coast), one of Spain's premier holiday coasts, popular with both domestic and foreign visitors. It's very busy in summer, with a lively social scene and great beaches. Even if that's not your scene, there are still several worthwhile destinations along this coast. Although the original fishing villages have long been engulfed by the sprawl of resorts, a few old-town kernels, such as those at Xàbia (Jávea) and Altea, still survive. Alicante itself has plenty to offer besides legendary nightlife, while Dénia is an enticing blend of a traditional fishing town, beach resort, and gastronomic destination.

25 Things to do in Barcelona, Spain | Top Attractions Travel Guide Video Transcript:

This week we are exploring another Spanish city. We are in Barcelona and this video is going to highlight 25 things to do here.

It is kind of hard to believe our time in Barcelona has expired. So final thoughts.

Well, it was a really fun city to visit. Great architecture, really nice beaches. It is very lively especially at night. The only downfall is that we were here in the middle of summer so it was super hot and super crowded and sometimes that made it a little bit difficult to enjoy. Especially at midday or in the mid-afternoon. So keep that in mind. Maybe consider visiting in the springtime, fall, winter.

Well, so what did you think of the city?

It is definitely a fun city. We had a lot of fun going to the beaches. One thing that is really different about this city compared to some other European cities though is that it is really spread out. In order for us to visit all of these different attractions we had to chunk them together into groups to visit them day by day. Overall, it was a decent city. It didn't quite click with me the same way that Madrid did. But that is just personal preference I suppose.

And that is a wrap for Barcelona! Our 5 days in the city flew by, and while this guide didn't cover everything, we hope we were able to give you a feel of what this fun seaside city has to offer. As always, if you have any suggestions of things to do around town, feel free to add them in the comments below. And if you want to catch our latest travel videos, don't forget to hit subscribe!

Ronda, Spain - The BEST Day Trip in Spain (They Told Me It Wasn't Worth It)

Welcome to a new travel vlog from Ronda, Spain! Today, I took a day trip to Ronda, Spain to explore this charming town and share with you a Ronda, Spain walking tour. In this Ronda Spain Vlog I will show you the charming old town of Ronda, the impressive El Tajo Gorge, and even visit the new city of Ronda Spain!

To start off the day, I climbed the main church in Ronda, the Santa Maria Church (Iglesia de Santa Maria la Mayor) for incredible views of the city. From the top of the church, you can see all of the beautiful white washed homes with incredible views of the surrounding mountains. After visiting the top of the Santa Maria Church, I made my way to the Old Bridge, also called Puente Viejo. The Old Bridge is a beautiful stone bridge that is the perfect spot for a good picture!

Next up on my Ronda Spain walking tour, I walk over the New Bridge (Puente Nuevo) and hike down for amazing views of the El Tajo Gorge. The El Tajo Gorge is over 100 meters, or over 300 feet deep, and hiking down the gorge is an absolute must on your day trip to Ronda Spain. As you begin hiking down the El Tajo Gorge, you will be rewarded with amazing views of the New Bridge (Puente Nuevo) of Ronda, Spain. The New Bridge is absolutely spectacular, with beautiful arches and even a waterfall at the bottom! I had to showcase the beautiful views of the New Bridge in my Ronda Spain Vlog!

Next up on my Ronda Spain walking tour, I walk across the new bridge, which connects the old city and the new city. My next stop on my Ronda Spain Vlog was to visit the Plaza Del Socorro in the new town. The Plaza del Socorro is a beautiful plaza in the center of Ronda’s new town, lined with tons of charming cafes and restaurants. Next on my day trip to Ronda Spain, I walk just a few minutes away to sip a coffee on a rooftop hotel overlooking the Plaza de Toros. The Plaza de Toros in Ronda, Spain is absolutely massive and is a beautiful site to see!

After visiting the Plaza de Toros, I head to Alameda del Tajo Park, which is a calm, green park, perfect to escape the sun and relax a bit. At one end of the park you have incredible views of the mountains surrounding Ronda, Spain. My last stop on my Ronda Spain Vlog was to walk through the main pedestrian street in Ronda called Calle Espinel. I end my Ronda Spain walking tour strolling Calle Espinel, window shopping and taking in all of the sights.

I hope you enjoyed my Ronda Spain walking tour and my day trip to Ronda! Ronda is a beautiful city with tons of nature and a tranquil and charming old town!

How to get from Barcelona to Tarragona on Sunday?

The best way how to get from Barcelona to Tarragona is to take the train, bus or car.
Discover Tarragona by leaving Barcelona around 9 am and going back at 6 pm.

-By Train - 1h:10 min (8 - 12 EUR If you book your ticket 1 week in advance)
-By Bus - 1h:40 min (7 - 10 EUR If you book your ticket 1 week in advance)
-By Car - 1h

*I would suggest taking the bus for both ways, because in the evening when you want to leave Tarragona by train there is a chance of limited seating, so be ready to stand 1h on the train. Therefore, if you take the bus you are going to get the seat number so the seat is guaranteed.

*Keep in mind that on Sunday Tarragona is a bit quiet, meaning that most of the places close in the afternoon. That is why you should consider going there early in the morning in order to catch not only sightseeing but also free tickets for Museu d'art modern de Tarragona.

An Epic Spanish roadtrip | VanLife Spain - Grazalema to Sevilla | Ep 2

Hey everyone and welcome back! In this week's video we celebrate New Year's by the beach on the most incredible Wild Camping spot in Spain, where we witness incredible sunsets and spot dolphins from our van!

We then point a hungover finger at a map and drive up to the Spanish mountains of Grazalema National Park, where we explore the nature, beauty and culture of the mountains and its villages of Andalusia's famous Pueblos Blancos, as well as do some more nature spotting from the van, as we spot Grfiffon Vultures swooping up high.

We then continue our hair-raising drive up and down these Spainish mountains, with our final stop on our Spanish road trip in Sevilla. Where we eat and drink our way around the town, as well as witness the Noches del Reyes procession through the city centre.

About us:

We're Jack and Jo, and that hairy, scruffy little guy is Frank our adventure dog. Since 2020 we've been living and working from our tiny home on wheels, as we seek an alternative way of living. We sold our flat in London to live an alternative lifestyle. Quitting city life for Van Life, and we haven't looked back.

Our Story:
In September 2020, we sold our flat in London in search of an alternative way of life. We bought a van. Had it converted into an adventure van/come office. Picked up a furry co-pilot - our border terrier adventure dog Frank, and set-out on the road to work remotely from our campervan, from beautiful places in the UK.

We haven't looked back since. This is genuinely the life for us, and we're planning some big adventures including a campervan trip to Europe
