Top 10 African Countries with the Best Quality Roads. Welcome to Afro Page and thanks for watching. One of the essential factors for economic growth is domestic and international transportation, thus, road infrastructure needs to be maintained and updated regularly. when it comes to ranking countries by their road networks, African countries lag way behind. This is surprising considering the fact that a chunk of the budgetary allocations in many African countries are centered on road development, yet very little can be shown for it. The Global Competitive Report Index is charged with the ranking of roads worldwide to set aside the best from the worst. In ranking the countries, the Global Competitive Report index tracks the performance of approximately 140 countries on 12 pillars of competitiveness, including the quality of road infrastructure development, maintenance and urban-rural balance. In the recent ranking by the Global Competitive Report Index, United Arab, Singapore, and Switzerland, emerged with the best road in the world with scores of 6.2 each, while Mauritania, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Haiti, emerged with the worst roads with score of 2.1.

What Are The Largest Landlocked Countries In The World?

What are the 10 largest landlocked countries on Earth by land size?

A landlocked country is an independent sovereign state that does not have direct access to an ocean, such as the Atlantic, Indian or Pacific or to a sea that is not landlocked, such as the Mediterranean.

There are 44 countries in total that are classed as landlocked or 45 if your country recognises Kosovo.

A country can be landlocked by a single other other country, such as Lesotho by South Africa, by two countries, such as Andorra by France and Spain.

And other countries are landlocked by 2 or more countries, in fact up to 8 countries, such as Zambia, Austria and Serbia.

There are also countries which are classed as doubly landlocked, this is when a country is surrounded by countries that are also landlocked, such as Liechtenstein in Europe and Uzbekistan in central Asia.
