In today's video, I am going to give you a tour of Philipsburg St. Maarten cruise port and city. This Philpsburg cruise port and city tour can be used as a guide for what to do at the cruise port and things to do in walking distance of the cruise port in St. Maarten.
I haven't done to many port tours because usually it's my first time there and it's hard to make a cruise port video and city tour while I'm still discovering the place myself. However, I think I came up with a cruise port tour format that not only gives you useful information but allows me to explore and learn more about the area without having to worry about shooting a video explaining where I am in the moment.

Built in the 1700’s the building now housing the restaurant used to be a boiler room in the sugar plantation days. The building was restored and has since become on of the island’s most beloved and most romantic restaurants.

???????? What to do in St. Maarten! - Philipsburg Cruise Port Tour
St. Maarten is known as the friendly island. Today we are at the Philipsburg St. Maarten cruise port and will tell you everything you need to know about the port. We are going to review the port atmosphere, what is near by and how you can prepare for your day in St. Maarten.
Philipsburg St. Maarten has two docks. They are able to accommodate the largest ships at sea, like Royal Caribbean's Oasis class. If both piers are full it would get pretty busy at the cruise port. When stopped at St. Maarten we were the only cruise ship there and we were not at full capacity so it was not pretty quiet.
The name of the St. Maarten Philipsburg cruise port is Harbour Point Village. The atmosphere is really about shopping. There are lots of shops and a little market area. You have all your typical cruise port shops like Diamonds international. There were lots of souvenir shops that were locally owned and had a good variety of gifts. St. Maarten what to do is a question we got asked a lot. As the port area is mainly shopping we recommend heading into town if you are looking for a restaurant or beaches. The water taxi is only $7 which will get you into town and back.

Sint Maarten is incredible - it's the best of everything you can want for a vacation. It's amazing shopping, beaches, and restaurants make it a popular place to visit in the Caribbean. White sand beaches and Philipsburg's famous front street, St. Maarten is awesome. Philipsburg St Maarten Shopping Spree
Corinne takes us on a day trip with her friend Janet shopping to Philipsburg on the friendly island of St Maarten - St Martin. Minutes from my villa and townhouse in Dawn Beach, Philipsburg is a shopping haven with stores featuring designer clothing Jewelry, electronics, watches and local clothing and gifts. It is duty-free so consequently bargains are everywhere to be had!
Shopping in Philipsburg, indeed just walking around Philipsburg makes you realise just how friendly people are in St Maarten. We had a great reaction making the video from both locals and tourists in Philipsburg. I beleive some 2 million tourist come to St Maarten every year by cruise ship and you can see why. St Maarten is one of the most popular islands for tourism, with huge numbers of repeat visitors renting villas. We had fun wandering around Front Street in Philipsburg, and through the alleys to the Boardwalk. Apparently Philipsburg the capital of St Maarten was founded in 1763 by John Philips, a Scottish captain in the Dutch navy, and quickly the settlement became a bustling center of international trade, which of course it still is!
