We’re Marianne & Chris, a happily married couple from the UK. Marianne is a living kidney donor to her best friend, and realising that life was for living and never really knowing what’s round the corner - we decided to fulfil our dream of travelling full time.
So in March 2018 after the kids had left home, we sold our belongings, rented our house and moved into our campervan called Trudy. We set off to see the world and after vanlifing around Ireland and Europe, we grabbed our backpacks and spent 5 months exploring Central America.
Feeling like we needed a challenge, we planned the ultimate van life adventure! In Jan 2020 set off to drive around the World from UK to UK. But after arriving in Turkey, covid caught up with us and closed the borders, so we had a wonderful 18 months exploring this special country. Realising we were not going to be able to head further East, we decided to do a handbrake turn and go the other way and shipped our van to the USA.
We hope you enjoy coming with us, and we’ll continue to share our real adventures and hope you feel inspire to step out of your comfort zone and try something new.

Join us in this video as we explore Turkey's lessor visited coastline, the Black Sea coast!
After our time in Istanbul, we picked up a rental car for a road trip around Turkey! To start things off, we made the 1,200 KM drive along the Black Sea coast from Istanbul all the way out to Rize.
We made this drive over several days making stops along the way. From the lava pillars at Güzelcehisar Beach, to the very picturesque seaside town of Amasra, the restored Ottoman houses of Safranbolu, to the beautiful cliffside Soumela Monastery, we had an incredible time discovering this part of the country!

We’re Marianne and Chris, a married couple from the UK. After some life changing events we decided that life was just too short. We sold all our belongings, bought an old Campervan & rented our house to travel full time. The aim is to attempt to visit every country in the world in either our van or with a backpack. We started videoing our travels for our family and then decided it was a wonderful way to document and share our adventures.
Our latest adventure started in January 2020 when we left the UK in an attempt to drive our van all the way around the world. Let the adventures continue.

I never thought we would be making a video with the words Self Isolation and Pandemic during our around the word drive but that is the reality. We are stuck in Istanbul Turkey and have to get ready for a long term lock down, like so many of you around the world.
This is by far the most challenging OVERLANDING VANLIFE Adventure travel series that we have ever done (and possibly on youtube) one that will definitely change us for ever more. Driving around the world is going to be both a physical and mental challenge and one that will test us to the limit.
