Wallis-et-Futuna : Journée à Alofi
Alofi est la troisième île de Wallis-et-Futuna. C'est une île (presque) inhabitée : 1 habitant permanent ! C'est surtout le morceau de France le plus éloigné de Paris (16252 km d'après Wikipédia). C'est aussi un paradis... pour les touristes qui n'aiment pas les touristes, pour les randonneurs qui aiment marquer leur propre trace, pour les fans de plages désertes et surtout pour les moustiques. Difficile d'accès (4 avions et 1 bateau pour y accéder), sauvage (pas d'électricité, pas d'eau potable...), hostile (infestée de moustiques, végétation extraordinairement envahissante...). Bref, tout ce que j'aime !
Wallis et Futuna, trésors à découvrir
Singulières et préservées où cultures française et polynésienne cohabitent en harmonie, les îles Wallis et Futuna abritent de nombreux trésors méconnus, hors des sentiers battus. Les paysages à couper le souffle, le patrimoine historique riche et la culture vivante sont autant de raisons de venir découvrir ces îles du triangle polynésien encore largement préservées du tourisme.

Constituées de 3 îles principales, qui n’en font pas pour autant un archipel, Wallis et Futuna sont des îles Françaises à 16000 km de la métropole. A noter que 200 km sépare #Wallis (la plus grande) de #Futuna et d’ #Alofi. Très peu connu des touristes ces destinations seront idéales pour les amoureux de la nature, qui y est très protégée. En effet les îles sont difficiles d’accès et si le tourisme est si peu présent dans l’économie de l’île c’est aussi car les infrastructures ne sont pas développées pour.

La religion (catholique à 99,9%) est très importante pour les wallisiens et les futuniens. Plus importante que ce que la plupart des civilisations mettent au premier plan de leurs priorités, comme l'éducation, le travail ou le confort matériel.
Résultat : Il y a des édifices religieux absolument partout. Églises, chapelles, cathédrale, calvaires... Et bien sur comme on est dans les îles, ça ne ressemble pas toujours à ce qu'on a l'habitude de voir.

In December 2006 Zespół Pieśni i Tańca Akademii Rolniczej w Lublinie JAWOR visited Futuna, one of the islands in the Wallis and Futuna archipelago. Here me and my friend are on the beach, looking on the Alofi isle and other views. Outstanding place!
