This Torrey Pines hike takes you to the best of the park – you experience get great ocean views, hike through unique geological formations, get a glimpse of the world-famous golf course, hike on an antique version of the Pacific Coast Highway, and of course, get see the Torrey Pine. The Torrey Pine is the rarest pine tree in the United States and is an endangered species. You can only see them here and on the Channel Islands. As you’re hiking Torrey Pines, remember that the environment is fragile, so please stay on the trail. Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve is one of those once in a lifetime destinations, I highly recommend this hike!

Hiking Torrey Pines State Reserve - San Diego, CA
Southern California Coastline is one of the famous destinations not just for beach lovers but also for surfers. But in our case, we came here to do a coastal hike and Torrey Pines came to mind. Torrey Pines State Reserve is one of the wildest stretches of the Southern California coast, the Torrey Pines Loop gives you a quick taste of the breathtaking scenery and coastal cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean in the community of La Jolla.
A few hours before our flight back to Vancouver we decided to lace up our shoes and hit its trails. We were mesmerized to see the winding terrains which boast a postcard-worthy view of desert landscapes, ocean views, and rugged cliffs.
The hike was easy, flat terrain with moderate inclines and at the end of the path, a stair led us to the beach. We enjoy our hike here. And if you love hiking here in San Diego, we highly recommend Torrey Pines. You’re going to love it. Enjoy the video.

If you drive to this location there is a $10 - $25 parking fee depending on the day, but there is free parking along the highway/beachfront. Unfortunately for pet lovers, pets are not aloud in this park so you must bring a human friend as your companion. Hope you enjoy!

Torrey Pines State Reserve Hike The Lodge at Torrey Pines

Hiking at Torrey Pines Natural Reserve | Guy Fleming Trail
Guy Fleming Trail is the first loop trail you will come across coming from bottom parking lot. There are lots of wild flowers and cacti and you can also enjoy the 2 scenic overlooks with panoramic views. The loop is only about 0.8 miles but we logged about 2 miles hiking from the bottom parking lot with 282 feet elevation. This short hike took us about 50 minutes then we got to enjoy the cool breeze and stunning sound of the waves.

About this video:
In today's video, we are going to visit TORREY PINES HIKE which is located in the northern coast of SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA.
THE trail we gonna visit is:
1) GUY FLEMING TRAIL:
Easy trail with sensational views of the Pacific Ocean just outside of San Diego.
2) This trail is located in Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve, a beautiful area about 20-30 minutes north of San Diego.
3) This a short, flat loop located inside Torrey Pines State Reserve. There are a few spots that have stairs, most of which lead to one of the viewpoints.
4) Along the trail there are some signs about local plants. Stop at one of the benches and enjoy the ocean views. If you’re lucky, you may even spot a whale or some dolphins. This trail is also well known for wildflowers in the spring.
5) The total length of your hike will depend on where you park. If you take advantage of the free street parking, expect to add up to a mile each way. If you visit on a slow day and pay to park inside, there is a small dirt turnout on the hill close to the trailhead where a few cars can park.

Elevation Gain:100 ft
Route Type: Loop
Total Time: 30 minutes at a leisurely pace

TORREY PINES STATE BEACH.HIKING
South Beach at Torrey Pines State Beach is just south of the creek mouth that flows from Los Penasquitos Marsh Natural Preserve in north La Jolla. There is a large parking lot just off North Torrey Pines Road right next to the beach. Just above the beach is a high bluff with hiking trails that look over the ocean (whale watching January-March) and the saltwater marsh.
The Torrey Pines Park Road ascends from this parking area up to the visitor center and trailheads for the trails in Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve. The beach at South Beach is rockier than those at nearby Black’s Beach and Flat Rock Beach but South Beach has much easier access. For that reason it will be busier than those other beaches. Torrey Pines North Beach is just across the marsh entrance channel and has a similar beach feel to South Beach.
