Sir Lord Robert Cecil Stephenson Smith Baden-Powell, I barón de Gilwell (n. Londres, 22 de febrero de 1857 - m. Nyeri 8 de enero de 1941), fue un actor, pintor, músico, militar, escultor y escritor británico. Fundador del Movimiento Scout Mundial, participó en distintas campañas militares en África, en las cuales destacó y obtuvo gran popularidad entre la población británica, especialmente por su heroica dirección en la defensa de Mafeking. Tras regresar a su isla natal, las publicaciones de sus libros crecieron se multiplicaron y se convirtió, así, en un destacado autor en materia de educación y formación juvenil. Sus ideas, plasmadas en Escultismo para Muchachos y otras obras, inspiraron a grupos de jóvenes británicos a formar patrullas, con lo que se inició de manera informal el escultismo.

World Scout Day 2023: History, Significance and Facts About Lord Baden-Powell
WORLD SCOUT DAY 2023: Every year, on February 22, millions of people who have been a part of the Boy Scouts mark World Scout Day. It commemorates the birth anniversary of the founder of the Boy Scouts Movement, Lord Robert Baden-Powell. The day, celebrated by National Scout Organisations worldwide, is observed through activities such as fundraising, food drives, and other forms of community service.

Over the course of the next few years, the movement grew swiftly, taking on a global character.
BADEN POWELL STATUE TO GO OR STAY?
News video of the scene at Poole in Dorset where there is a statue of Lord Baden Powell who started the Scout and Guide movement in the town.
Local residents and people whom have connections with the world of Scouting and Guiding are unhappy that the local council plan to remove a statue of Lord Baden Powell from Poole Quay in Dorset.
Baden Powell started the Scouts at Brownsea Island in Poole harbour and the movement has members all over the world as was pointed out in one of the speeches.
Following the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement around the world a list appeared of various statutes claiming that these people were thought to be racist.
The local council in Poole is talking of removing the statue for safe keeping. Some residents and interested parties want him to stay.
Council officials are concerned that the statue could be damaged and the local council representative has said that the removal would be temporary.

Grave of William D. Boyce, founder of Boy Scouts of America
Boyce was a successful entrepreneur in the early 1900s, when he found out about the Boy Scouts program in London, England. This inspired him to start the first Boy Scouts program in the United States. While he lived in many different places, he considered Ottawa, Illinois his hometown. Boyce, his son, daughter and first wife are all buried together at Ottawa Avenue Cemetery. A statue, depicting a typical Boy Scout, is just a few steps from their graves.
A well-detailed historical marker on Boyce's life is found at the cemetery (written by Kevin Saar in 2020). I visit that, along with the graves and statue.

It was a busy night yesterday as shoppers and passengers alike finalized their Christmas shopping and travels respectfully at the lower bus terminal opposite naivas supermarket.
There was a traffic snarl up due to influx of cars and people alike.
Take a look at how it was yesterday.
PCT 2019 Thru-Hike Episode 27 – After Mt. Baden Powell
Okay people here is a new video after a long long time. i could not be bothered to just keep making these video,s so much time goes into these. But with al the stuff happening currently and hikers not hiking i thought the least i could do is to upload some video,s for you all to watch.
Hiking together with Arthur and meeting other hikers on the trail now and then . The trail was invisible because of all the snow, but we did get up the mountain (happy with our micro spikes): a steep climb up. At Little Jimmy Spring we got nice fresh water and later we got to the Little Jimmy Campsite. We kept hiking a few more miles (almost 18 miles today including Mt. Baden Powell), set camp and enjoyed our Dutch “stroopwafels”.
-Side Note we went of trail and walked the road to avoid the yellow leg frog closure, but that was about 3 miles to early.
