It's the first day in Syria and it feels a bit surreal to be here but I'm excited to see what I find. We ventured into the city of Damascus and got to see the Al-Hamidiyah Souq, the Umayyad Mosque and met some incredibly friendly people.
This series is not a political commentary. I am simply showing what I see and experience while traveling through Syria.

Kosovo meets Syria ???????? Prizren
Kosovo, Prizren: Is it safe to travel and visit Syria? While walking to reach the top of the castle in Przren, we met a Syrian guy who was a pleasure sure to talk to and who answered all my concerns regarding travel to Syria. I didn't film everything, but he was so helpful and right now I really wish to travel to Syria!
If you don't how to spell what he suggested, the Syrian capital is Damascus, and to relax at the seaside you should go to Tartus and Latakia. The Syrian foods were Fattoush and Mashawi. The Syrian drink was Arak.
This video was shot in Prizren Fortress also known as Kaljaja and Dušan's Fortress (Душанов град / Dušanov grad), is a medieval fortress in Prizren, Kosovo.

Barshin (Arabic: برشين) is a Syrian village located in Ayn Halaqim Nahiyah in Masyaf District, Hama. According to the Syria Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Barshin had a population of 1,155 in the 2004 census. Its inhabitants are predominantly Christians.

Damascus is one of the most fascinating cities in the Orient and its colourful history is still very much apparent in its magnificent palaces.Today an impressive statue serves as a reminder of the city’s famous monarch, Saladin. In the twelfth century he did much to improve the city. A walk through the historic centre of Damascus is like a journey through more than two thousand years of oriental history. In contrast to many other cities in the Near and Middle East, most of the original buildings within the old town have survived the test of time. The city’s strategic location at the junction of several important caravan routes gave rise to a large number of fortified inns or ‘Caravansaries’, such as the Khan As’ad Pasha Al Azem. The Omayyad Mosque was for many years the largest and most revered in the Islamic world and the splendid furnishings of its interior make this building a veritable treasure trove. The historic splendour of Syria’s remarkable capital city really is like a Paradise On Earth.
