Vancouver is one of the most beautiful cities in the country. It boasts towering mountains, pristine beaches and is just a 2 hour drive from Seattle (on a good day). I decided to do a road trip from Seattle to Vancouver but instead of 2 hours we took most of the day and stopped at over 23 spots along the way. We started at 8AM in Seattle and made our way down to Vancouver by 4PM the same day. It was a long day but definitely a fun experience and here is the full video. After a scenic drive of two hours, you arrive at North Cascades National Park. It encompasses mountain landscapes and aquamarine lakes.
Some of the must visit stops along the highway include Diablo Lake, Rainy Pass and the Methow Valley.
Portland
If you are looking for a weekend destination that involves a lot of nature, then Portland is just three-hour drive away.
Crossing over the Columbia River Gorge is a different experience.
Portland provides an urban vibe distinctly different than Seattle.
You can check out Portland Art Museum, Pittock Mansion, Washington Park, including the International Rose Test Garden and Hoyt Arboretum. The city of Portland never sleeps.
