We are starting our search for Ruby Rose 2 and are going to compare and rate every catamaran we see over 5 separate criteria. Over the coming weeks we will see which Catamaran scores highest. We have developed an app to collect all your scores. This will give us a much better collective average and allow others to benefit from a collective review.

This is our review of the Lagoon 42 2019 edition. As we search for a catamaran we look to Lagoon. The Lagoon 42 has a reputation for being a safe and well made catamaran. Thousands of Lagoons cross oceans and this particular Lagoon 42 was a real eye opener.

A Voyage Aboard the Seawind 1600
Team Wright Yachts recently delivered a 2018 Seawind 1600 from the International Multihull Show in La Grande Motte France to her home port in Malaga Spain. 750NM on board with European Sales and Marketing for Seawind Catamarans Jay Nolan, Scott Wallingford of Wright Yacht Sales, and Captain Benjamin Foeller. Seawind 1260 Test Sail 2020 | Catamaran Sailing & Management Interview
After the Annapolis boat show we were fortunate enough to be able to take a very popular catamaran, the Seawind 1260 for a test sail. The conditions were calm and warm and we tested out this catamaran in light winds and poor visibility. We were also able to do another candid management interview with Shane Grover, the US marketing manager of Seawind. As with our previous interviews, the questions came from our Patrons and pulled no punches. Enjoy!

Ruby Rose 2: An Update On Our Search For The Perfect Catamaran
Keeping Secrets is hard! Keeping the biggest secret of our Sailing Careers to ourselves is impossible. The question: What catamaran is Ruby Rose 2 going to be?
We have so many questions and emails asking what we have chosen and when we are going to reveal our choice.
Well today we are halfway there. Before we pop with excitement we are super, super excited to let you in on what we are doing for our next boat. It's epic, exciting and the most ambitious project we have EVER embarked upon!

This is a big moment! We are setting sail for the very first passage aboard the spanking new Seawind 1370 catamaran. While this is hull #2, it is the first Seawind 1370 to be delivered to its owners.
It’s our long-time friends Nick and Terysa’s new boat Ruby Rose 2. They have been documenting the build of this boat for the past 2 years (an extra-long wait thanks to covid) and naturally, their videos have created a lot of hype, buzz and anticipation.
But Nick and Terysa were monohull sailors, and this is their first Catamaran. So, the burning question is, does the boat live up to the hype? Does it meet the expectations they set? We are super keen to find out!
Because there is the anticipation (something we are experiencing now) and then there is the reality of the completed vessel. How does she sail? How is the layout? How are the systems? Soooo many questions…and we get some brutally honest answers. Because let's face it, no boat is perfect.

Welcome to part 4 of our catamaran design series, where we discuss righting moment and structural strength.
Righting Moment and structural strength of Catamarans is important to understand the possibility of a catamaran capsizing and whether it is suitable for offshore sailing. This episode we talk to Antoine Richer, one of Corsair marines Naval Architects to learn how the construction methods affect strength. We also discuss righting moment and how that is affected by the type of catamaran you are sailing.
We have learned so much by getting facts from a designer rather than a broker and we hope that you find this a valuable tool if you are considering buying a catamaran, whether new or used.

We embarked upon the cruising lifestyle to explore places off the beaten path, while bringing our home with us. This week we’re continuing our journey in San Blas, sailing 50 nautical miles east to Mamitupu, reputed to be one of the most traditional Kuna villages. Most cruisers do not visit this area, just 50 miles from the Colombian border at the foothills of the Darien Forest. Our curiosity to learn more about the illusive Kuna culture and the allure of the mysterious Darien is driving us to explore further. Turns out our biggest challenge didn’t have anything to do with nature.

Building The Perfect Catamaran: From Dream To REALITY! Ruby Rose 2 November Update!!
Ruby Rose 2. November Update!!! Two years ago we set out to build our perfect Catamaran. A tough but luxurious bluewater Catamaran. Easily handled by a couple and able to circumnavigate. The Seawind 1370 was a design on a drawing board. In partnership with Seawind Catamarans we added 57 features that we wanted in a catamaran and they produced the MOST AMAZING BOAT. Now that boat is in production and we are so, so excited to see her in the flesh.
