Getting ready for a 62 Day, 15000km Solo Ride - It is getting more complicated by the day |S2-E1|

If you want to go on a Solo Rider trip, you suddenly find yourself in a pinch to get it all done. New gear is always a challenge, and for some reason, things don't go together anymore.
There is a fair share of this going on at the moment. The racks don't fit the bags. Footpegs aren't compatible with the new Racks. New sat nav because the old one is rubbish. Where does it end?
You just have to get on with it.
So, now I'm ready to go? Not a chance.

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the #travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to go travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this #travelvlog to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling, and we didn’t want to stop after just one year! After achieving our new goal of 100 countries and then all 7 continents (check out our documentary here: we had no plans to slow down, until 2020 decided to force us to ;) which is when we bought a converted Sprinter van to start exploring our own country for the first time. #Vanlife was a major adjustment and so different than flying every week like we were used to, but we are incredibly thankful to be able to continue doing something we love every day. ????????????

Scariest thing to happen while Solo Camping. I had to leave...

Scariest thing to happen while Solo Camping. I had to leave... First time I have EVER done this while Motorcycle Camping. The older I get, the more I come to terms that I can't just do things the way I once could. Spending all day in the heat and Sun once again took a toll on my health. Right before dinner, I started developing a pretty severe headache. Thinking I was just thirsty and hungry, I began prepping my meal while chugging some water. Halfway through dinner I was unable to keep eating. Nausea got worse and I laid down for about 30 minutes. The pounding in my head got so bad I finally got up and started packing. I typically ALWAYS have ibuprofen on my bike, but forgot to swap it over to the Himalayan. After I started shaking, I knew it was time to go home. This campground has no cell service and I wasn't loving the idea of not being able to contact someone if I needed help. Luckily, my neighbor had some Motrin and offered me some. That legit saved my butt during the long ride home. LESSON LEARNED!

ALONE IN AFRICA: A Solo-Traveller's Guide To Kilimanjaro. Lemosho, Day 1.

I arrived in Tanzania feeling both excited and a little nervous, the trip happened very spontaneously. Only on Sunday, I had booked my tickets, applied for the visa. Five days later, on Thursday, my plane landed in Tanzania.

I spent the first day in Africa, getting my gear ready and preparing for the climb, making sure to pack everything I would need for the climb, from warm clothing to hiking boots to a sturdy backpack.

As we drove to the gate of the national park, I felt a strong sense of awe at the beauty of the landscape around me. We passed through small African towns, where we were greeted by friendly locals who wished me a successful journey.

As we reached the gate, I met my guide and team, who were all African, this made me feel excited and safe. We had a quick briefing, and were ready to start the climb.

To be continued.
