It’s been more than a year since I’ve been to Botswana. Join Ryan, Ed and I as we cross the Limpopo again for an exciting new adventure!

From Kruger Park to Mozambique! | Safari with Friends 2022 | Episode 2
On 26th December 2022, we left Durban and headed towards Kruger National Park with friends for a safari trip to bring in the new year.
For this trip, we decided against camping due to the extreme heat at this time of year, and sought out some affordable family chalet and tented accommodation along the way.
Our route and itinerary consisted of the following camps and stops:
1. Premier Hotel, Nelspruit
2. Mopani Camp, Kruger National Park
3. Dumela Wilderness Safaris, Pafuri, Mozambique
4. Mapesu Private Reserve, Wilderness Tented Camp, Mapungubwe
5. Leokwe Camp, Mapungubwe National Park
6. Mohave and Serolo Camps, Tuli Wilderness, Botswana
7. City Lodge Hotel, Fourways, Johannesburg
In this episode, we leave Kruger Park, where we stayed at Mopani Camp, and exit South Africa into Mozambique via the Pafuri borderpost. We arrive at Dumela Wilderness Safaris in Mozambique to a beautiful setting, and celebrate New Years Eve with friends.

In September 2022, Francois van der Westhuizen and I travelled through Botswana for two weeks, covering nearly 4000 kilometers! We started off at the Khama Rhino Sanctuary before heading for Maun, where we stocked up for an epic adventure in the Khwai Community north of Moremi Game Reserve.
We camped at Magotho Campsite in Khwai for a full nine days, giving ourselves an excellent chance of seeing lots of game. I was looking for a very specific leopard - the Magotho female's cub - who I had seen as a tiny cub the year before.
In this episode, the first in a 3-part series, Francois and I explore the roads around Magotho and have excellent sightings of both leopards and lions.

Tuli Wilderness is a 24000 acre private and pristine wildlife concession in Botswana's Tuli Block and in this video we spend two nights at the wild and unfenced Mohave Bush Camp.
When you book Mohave Bush Camp, you get exclusive use of the camp and you can either book it on a self-catering or fully-catered basis.
Over the two days at Tuli Wilderness, we saw lions twice, watched a herd of elephants cross a riverbed below us from Eagle Rock and had the privilege to see a Verreaux's Eagle chick. We also spent an unforgettable morning at the local spotted hyena den, where you get to see hyena cubs up close on foot.

In August 2021, I had the privilege to visit all four camps in Botswana's Mashatu Game Reserve, including Tuli Safari Lodge Mashatu, which features in this video. We spend to nights at Tuli Safari Lodge Mashatu, and while we were there we had sundowners on Mmamagwa Hill, arguably the most beautiful viewpoint in Mashatu, saw a pair of young lions in golden light, and enjoyed a very special bush dinner while being serenaded by the Tuli Safari Lodge Mashatu choir.
Tuli Safari Lodge is the southern-most camp in Mashatu Game Reserve and it's situated near Pont Drift Border Post. It's tucked between the rocky sandstone ridges along the Limpopo River and has a very homey feel to it. The eight safari tents are some of the most comfortable and luxurious I've ever stayed in and the camp has numerous little spots where you can escape to during the middle of the day, including a large swimming pool, a reading bench overlooking the Limpopo River, a viewing spot overlooking a waterhole in the rocks and a star-gazing spot where you can take the most incredible photos of the Milky Way at night.
Tuli Safari Lodge Mashatu is also the perfect place from which to do bush walks - the best way to really make the most of the scenic environment around camp. Enjoy this episode and remember to watch the other four episodes in the series about Mashatu Game Reserve as well.

Amazing Safari in the Tuli Block
I remember when we were driving to the lodge we were in a car that was NOT made for off road driving but it was cheaper than a truck and we were determined to get out there so we got packed up, dropped off at the car rental place in boring Gaborone, Botswana and sgtarted on the 6 hour drive to the Tuli Block.The Tuli Block is a narrow fringe of land at Botswana's eastern border wedged between Zimbabwe in the north and east and South Africa in the south [taken straight from wiki]. We were in a tiny car called focus and it revved like a toy. We got stuck in the sand, camped overnight in it, got stopped by many passing cows and loved every moment of it. That little car got us to this beautiful video and back so here is an out of focus, wobbly and random video from me, please enjoy :)

Mashatu Euphorbia Villas is Mashatu Game Reserve's newest and most luxurious safari lodge and, if you ask me, it's the most beautiful lodge in Botswana! It lies tucked away between hundreds of striking bushveld candelabra trees on the edge of a cliff, overlooking a stunning riverbed.
Luxury and exclusivity are the two words that come to mind when I think about Mashatu Euphorbia Villas. The rooms are massive and extremely comfortable, and each has a private pool with a view to die for. The communal areas are beautifully designed and decorated to compliment the stunning natural surroundings.
Mashatu Euphorbia Villas is located near Mashatu Lodge in the centre of Mashatu Game Reserve and game drives are done in the same extremely productive area visited by Mashatu Lodge and Mashatu Tent Camp - the Central Area.
