Port Louis is the capital city of Mauritius, in the Indian Ocean. It's known for its French colonial architecture and the 19th-century Champ de Mars horse-racing track. The Caudan Waterfront is a lively dining and shopping precinct.
Nearby, vendors sell local produce and handicrafts at the huge Central Market. The Blue Penny Museum focuses on the island’s colonial and maritime history, along with its culture.

Welcome to paradise island! This is Mauritius, the green volcanic island off the coast of Africa in the Indian Ocean. We fly our drone over the famous Le Morne mountain, visit the seven colored earth and Chamarel waterfall and drive through the Black River Gorge. Of course we also see the best hotels and lay down on the perfect beaches. This video is the perfect guide for a family holiday to Mauritius!
In the previous episodes you saw how we made a road trip from Cape Town to Kruger Park in South-Africa. We drove the Cape Namibia Route along the West Coast to look for animals in the Kalahari Desert. After that we crossed the border into Namibia, where we drove straight through the world's highest sand dunes in the Sossusvlei. We saw all the sights in Namibia and wend on a safari in Etosha National Park. Lately we visited Botswana and Zimbabwe, to cross the border again back to South Africa. From Johannesburg we take you island hopping on Mauritius and also the French island of La Reunion.
Our journey through Africa is part of a one and a half year trip around the world. We can even continue to travel indefinitely. On New Year's Day we started in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, the Canary Islands. Then you saw us in Oman, Cape Verde, Martinique, Saint Lucia, Tobago, Grenada, the Bahamas, the United States, Mexico, Ecuador, the Galapagos Islands, Brazil, Qatar, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Australia, the Philippines, Zanzibar & Tanzania, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe and South Africa, Mauritius is already destination number 26 on the big trip. We have also been away from home for one and a half year now. Follow us on this world tour, first in Mauritius and then to many more beautiful destinations across the globe! Mauritius has tropical climate and can be visited throughout the year. However, depending on what you want to do.
The month of May marks the beginning of winter in Mauritius. These months are considered as the best time to visit Mauritius as the weather is mild and pleasant. During winters the maximum temperature on the island is 24 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature drops down to 18 degrees Celsius.
January marks the onset of summers in Mauritius and the crowd begins to reduce. The maximum temperature during summer goes up to 33 degrees Celsius and the minimum stays at 25 degrees Celsius.

If you like snorkelling then I will show you what you will see if you decide to snorkel in the ocean at The Heritage Le Telfair Golf and Wellness resort in Bel Ombre, Mauritius.
If you are a golfer then you will love seeing the Par 72 championship golf course at The Heritage golf club in Bel Ombre, Mauritius. See me play some shots and show you around the course while lifting the Mauritius Open trophy in the clubhouse.
I take a full day tour around the South West are of Mauritius where I show you the main attractions including the Chamarel waterfall, Seven coloured earth, the sacred lake and the Chamerel Rum distillery.
