My favourite video i've ever taken at Heathrow! From a fantastic location where you can actually see the heavies rotate off of the runway! These were filmed during the late afternoon and the last few look amazing taking off into the sunset!

Another trip to Heathrow to catch some of the late, widebody rotations of off RWY27L. 45 in total, 44 of which were widebody (dual aisle) aircraft and 1x 737 MAX. Filmed over the course of about 2 hours. Particularly during the first part of the video keep watching some of the departures for some beautiful wing condensation as they hit the low cloud coverage.

Another visit to Heathrow, albeit it this one fairly short of just about 90 minutes while passing by. A pretty mixed day, weather wise, as you'll see in some shots towards the second half of the video its pouring with rain and quite windy so I was trying to film while holding an umbrella over my shoulder.
27 departures in total, all heading to long haul destinations. 26 of which were widebody aircraft with the exception of JetBlue's A321NEO heading for New York. All flight info has been added on screen for your entertainment apart from one, which I seemed to miss out unfortunately. A Delta A330NEO heading for New York, that's all the info I had for that one.

A gusty day at London Heathrow Airport and with the approaching Storm Christoph set to hit the UK with further wind & rain over the coming days I decided some spotting was in order before the bad weather hit... and I just so happened to have been passing Heathrow for work so an opportunity arose. This is second part of the video, filmed the same day as my previous LHR video. I just waited a while before uploading due to the lack of footage and video opportunities at the moment.
Heathrow is a ghost town compared to its usual hive of activity, single runway operations and a minimal number of flights operating, many of which were cargo only.
I was filming for around 90 minutes here and managed to catch 16x Heavy or widebody departures off of Heathrow's RWY27L.

RWY27L heavy departures at London Heathrow Airport, LHR | July 11th, 2022
On July 11th, 2022, during a trip to London so my dad & his girlfriend could go to the Duran Duran concert in July 2022, I went to London Heathrow Airport to film Runway 27L arrivals. After filming Runway 27L arrivals for a few hours, LHR made its routine runway switch, meaning that Runway 27L was now being used for departures, so I walked over to the southern perimeter road near Terminal 5 at LHR, to film some heavy departures climbing out of LHR after departing from Runway 27L. This spot is not my favourite spot at LHR cause you cannot see the aircraft that's departing until after they have left the ground, meaning I didn't know when to start filming, and because of that, I only filmed heavy aircraft departing because I knew roughly where I was going to see them. I would visit this spot again, but it's not really a preference, but at least there were some services that included an Esso fuel station which had a Spar shop, Greggs, Subway, Starbucks machine & Toilets.

During the early evening from about 6pm at London Heathrow you start seeing some of the less frequent middle eastern and Asian airlines arriving at Heathrow, so I started the evening filming some of the arrivals on RWY27L at Myrtle Avenue.
Arrivals Include:
BA 777's, Singapore Airlines 777, Singapore Airlines Cargo 747, Air India 777, EVA 777, Cathay Pacific 777, Oman Air A330, Thai A340-600, Virgin Atlantic A330 and 2x non-heavies a Virgin Little Red A320 & KLM Fokker100.
Around 9pm is when many of these long haul departures start returning to their bases so I headed round the other side of the airport to catch some of the heavy departures off of RWY27R!
The departures start at 06:22 in the video.
Departures Include:
BA 747's & 777's, Virgin Atlantic A340-600's, Air China 777, Emirates & Qantas A380's, Jet Airways 777, Singapore 777 (the same one that arrived earlier), South African A340, Cathay Pacific 777, Oman Air A330, Kalitta Air 747-200! Etihad A340-600, Asiana 777, Ethiopian 777-200LR & EVA 777!
Was very lucky to catch that Kalitta Air 747-200! It arrivals the previous day and was then departing empty over to Amsterdam, hence the early take off and steep climb.
Some great views of the sunset departures and some nice catches! Its always nice seeing the traffic that only comes in once or twice a day and its especially nice catching the ones which normally only come & go either early in the morning or late at night like Ethiopian & South African!

My final video from Heathrow for a while... with the southern runway at Heathrow being closed for resurfacing until October meaning 27L/09R will be out of action for almost 3 months. Which means no arrivals from Mrytle Avenue either. So before the closure on July 12th I decided to head down to get one final video. A rather grey dull summers afternoon, with a few passing showers and a low cloud base making for some beautiful, dramatic condensation effects on some of the departures.

Well its fair to say this trip to Heathrow didn't go quite to plan. On our way to Hatton Cross the Piccadilly tube line was suspended due to trespassers on the line in the Hatton Cross area! So we were forced to take the bus which didn't get us there until 2pm so we only had an hour or so before the runways swap. So this is what we caught in that short hour of Heathrow departures between 2 - 3pm.
INCLUDES: British Airways 747's & 777's, Emirates A380, Virgin 747, American Airlines 777's, United 777, Aeroflot A330, Delta 767-400, Air Canada 777 and a Vietnam 787-9 seen departing the opposite runway after the 3pm runway swap.

Sunset Heavies at London Heathrow Airport, LHR | Over 30 Minutes! | 20/04/16

An absolutely beautiful evening at London Heathrow, one of the warmest days of the year so far, temperatures reaching 17 degrees, which isn't bad for April! But quite a gusty, north easterly wind bringing in the cold air from Scandinavia. I'd seen the forecast was good so decided to make the most of the clear skies and head down to Heathrow to catch the array of late afternoon and evening heavy arrivals. LHR is very much a split airport. The morning and afternoon sees a majority of trans-atlantic flights while the evening sees mostly heavy arrivals from the Far East, Middle East & Asia.
This is my first late evening visit to Heathrow this year and there's a few noticeable changes. A few new airlines and different aircraft.
So enjoy, every heavy arrival on RWY09L at Heathrow between 15:30 & 20:00! 32 minutes of non-stop heavies! :D

Close Up Heavy Departures London Heathrow Airport, RWY27L - 15/05/20

After 2 months of lockdown. This week, on Wednesday 13th May the first slight ease of restrictions was announced allowing people to now be able to travel to other places as long as they only do so with members of their household, abide by social distancing rules and only if you can do so without using public transport. With that in mind and the weather looking good I decided to head to Heathrow for an afternoon outside in the sunshine. I did so completely alone and my journey did not involve using public transport and I kept my distance from people at all times.
Due to the ongoing crisis, Heathrow which is Europe's busiest airport is now down to single runway operations meaning all arrivals & departures this day were on RWY27L. Most flights featured are cargo only flights with only a handful operating for passenger repatriation purposes. A rather sad sight seeing Heathrow so quiet. Bare in mind this was filmed over the course of an afternoon. In which time you would normally see at least 10x more aircraft movements. Despite there not being as many aircraft to see the ones that did show up on this Friday afternoon were definitely worth seeing! The majority of this video is of the widebody or Heavy departures off of RWY27L. But there were a few interesting arrivals I wanted to catch so I headed to Mrytle Avenue towards the end. So the majority of footage is of departures, with a few arrivals towards the end as well.

RwandAir A330, Vietnam Airlines A350 (SkyTeam livery!), Qatar 777-300 (OneWorld Livery), Air China 747-400, Swiss A330, Cargojet 767, United & Etihad 787-10 Dreamliners, Virgin Atlantic A350-1000 & 787, Qantas 787, Emirates 777's, Turkish 777, Cathay Pacific A350-1000, American Airlines 777, BA 777's & 787's and more!
Lots of things to look out for...
Notice 3x Qatar departures in just a few hours. 787, 777 & A350!
Also plenty of movements to/from China with PPE & medical supplies (3 of which were Air China flights, A330, 777 & 747!)
RwandAir usually serve Gatwick but it is now only open for a few hours a day, so during the current crisis for cargo purposes RwandAir are serving Heathrow instead.
MEA A320 towards the end is in its brand new 75 years retro livery! The livery was only unveiled the day before this was filmed!
Swiss A330! Not something I've ever seen before... A Swiss widebody aircraft on a flight to London. Presumably for the Cargo and so any passengers onboard can be socially distanced apart.
Cargojet 767! Also not a common sighting this side of the Atlantic but recently they've been helping out DHL on a number of cargo flights from Cincinnati.
Emirates 777's were also a thing of the passed at Heathrow, usually only served by the carriers A380's. But not now.
All in all some very interesting aircraft movements and a very strange atmosphere as well. It is such a shame seeing the damage this pandemic is having on the entire aviation industry and I do hope it picks up soon.
If you are thinking of going to an airport spotting PLEASE remember to protect yourself. Stay 2 meters apart from everyone and do NOT go if you cannot get there on your own. If your journey requires using public transport you should not go.

Half an hour at Myrtle Avenue during an afternoon at 09R departures at Heathrow. Meaning take off's were passing overhead. I only filmed the heavy or widebody departures as they're lower and a little more interesting to film when they're taking off towards you. Nice surprise thrown into the mix is the Negus retro livery BA 747-400! Seen making a very low climb over the perimeter fence before starting its turn towards the West.

Late Evening Arrivals & Departures at London Heathrow Airport - 23rd & 26th June 2017
Video: Two action packed evenings of spotting at London Heathrow airport back in the summery evenings of June. From the get go I was after the South African Airways A340-600 on the Friday and the Azerbaijan A340 on the Monday both of which are extremely rare at LHR in general.
Now the Azerbaijan A340 is one of those aircraft I've been dying to catch in daylight for a very very long time, and it doesn't help that this flight arrives at nearly 2100 at night. Other than that, I was very happy to see another favourite livery on one of my favourite aircraft. There were a few more cool moments too with the LOT 787, Azerbaijan Government A319CJ, SAS CRJ900, Philippines A340 (the last ever time I'll see it in daylight as its been replaced by the 777-300ER in the present days), the Korean Air 747-8I and a Dubai Air Wing 747 (that landed 09R unfortunately).
