Top 10 London Bridges With The Best Views Of The City

Top 10 London Bridges With The Best Views Of The City

Join us as we uncover the top 10 bridges in London that offer unparalleled views of the city's iconic landmarks, bustling river, and enchanting skyline. Experience the beauty and grandeur of London from these magnificent vantage points.

Plenty of bridges reach across the Thames to London, but these ten provide travelers with the best views of the city.

If someone mentions “London Bridge,” an image of Tower Bridge probably comes to mind. Tower Bridge is the late 19th century masterpiece, standing tall on the River Thames with its two ornate towers and often photographed by tourists and admirers of architecture. London Bridge, on the other hand, is a flat, concrete bridge that, aesthetically speaking, hasn’t got much to offer. What these two bridges have in common, however, is that they both offer spectacular views of the city.

London boasts a number of bridges straddling the Thames, so if you’re visiting the iconic city, be sure to check out some of these stunning bridges.

LONDON: Romantic ALBERT BRIDGE crosses River Thames #travel #london

The Albert Bridge, London - a tour of Albert Bridge, crossing Albert Bridge over the River Thames in London. Let's cross The Albert Bridge from the Chelsea bank of the River Thames in London. The Albert Bridge is one of London's most attractive and historically interesting monuments but rarely it gets a mention in tourist guides. The Albert Bridge is a marvellous example of Victorian architecture, but its the bridge's history that makes it so interesting.
Albert Bridge is a road bridge over the River Thames connecting Chelsea in Central London on the north, left bank to Battersea on the south. Designed and built by Rowland Mason Ordish in 1873 as an Ordish–Lefeuvre system modified cable-stayed bridge, the Albert Bridge proved to be structurally unsound, so between 1884 and 1887 Sir Joseph Bazalgette incorporated some of the design elements of a suspension bridge. In 1973 the Greater London Council added two concrete piers to the Albert Bridge, which transformed the central span into a simple beam bridge. As a result, today the bridge is an unusual hybrid of three different design styles.
Prince Albert lent his name to many things, but this is one of the more romantic. Built in the 1870s, Albert Bridge was given its striking pastel colour scheme in 1992 to stop boats crashing into it (you know, because of all those old pirate ships zipping up and down the Thames). In the daytime, Albert Bridge looks like something plucked out of Disneyland – but in the evening, you’ll see it festooned with 4,000 twinkling lights.
