Nilan Bhotu Valley is about 40 minutes drive from Pir Sohawa on the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) side of Margalla Hills, roughly 27 kilometres (17 mi) North-East of Islamabad. The 'Chilla Gah' (Place of meditation) of Bari Imam is also located there with crystal clear water ponds full of Mahseer fish, but fishing is not allowed by the locals.
It is almost possible to go there on a street car, you can also use motor bikes (Trail bike preferably but a 125 will also do). It also passes through a stream. You can also hire a jeep for Rs. 1,500 from the village to take you to Nilan bhotu.

Nilan Bhotu is Valley that is about 40 minutes drive from Pir Sohawa. The place is in the territory of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Haripur District. It at the backside of TRail-5 Margalla Hills. Which is about 27 kilometers North-East of Federal Capital Islamabad.
The Sufi saint Imam Bari goes to this place for Meditation this place is also known as the 'Chilla Gah'.
The place has clear and cool water ponds full of Mahseer fish.

You can get to the village either by bike or by jeep and can enjoy for the rest of the day with family or friends but we reached there by bike. We left for Nilan Bhotu at almost 11.AM from Commercial Market Rawalpindi, and reached there. The Religious place is also famous by the name of Sandha Pathar.

You must travel during the day since there is no electricity in that area and you can get lost on the way back if night falls

This place is known to be the Chillah Gah (Monastery) of famous saint, Shah Abdul Latif Kazmi more commonly known as Barri Imam. It is believed that he meditated at Nilan Bhotu. The monastery is well preserved along with the water and its inhabitants. This got me thinking that if we want to preserve natural resources in Pakistan, than perhaps associating a mystical superstition just might do the trick. Nilan Bhotu is a good case for those thinking on the same lines.

In summer, it is a natural pond, accessible via trail 5. Or you can park your car at Loh e dandi parking and trek to the Brutti top, for about 30 min to reach the waterfalls. Moreover, Brutti Falls is 3 km from Bari Imam Islamabad and half an hour's drive from Islamabad city center. It's a 10-foot waterfall and pool that's great for a family picnic.
