Uncovering A Hidden Gem In Côte D’Ivoire - Beach House Tour
I went to Cote d'Ivoire; a country whose energy, people, and food I love dearly. I initially wanted to do a video on life in bustling Abidjan, but I changed my mind. This video is dedicated to slow living on the coast east of Abidjan, in Assinie. And no, not in any sizeable resort-like place. That's not my style. It's no surprise at this point that being by the water is a high priority of mine. With all the craziness in the news this week, I hope this encourages you to find time to unplug over the weekend.

About Abidjan: Abidjan is the economic capital of Ivory Coast and one of the most populous French-speaking cities in Africa. According to the 2014 census, Abidjans population was 4.7 million, which is 20 percent of the overall population of the country, and this also makes it the sixth most populous city proper in Africa, after Lagos, Cairo, Kinshasa, Dar es Salaam, and Johannesburg. A cultural crossroads of West Africa, Abidjan is characterised by a high level of industrialisation and urbanisation. The city expanded quickly after the construction of a new wharf in 1931, followed by its designation as the capital city of the then-French colony in 1933. Abidjan remained the capital of Côte dIvoire after its independence from France in 1960. The completion of the Vridi Canal in 1951 enabled Abidjan to become an important sea port. In 1983, the city of Yamoussoukro was designated as the official political capital of Côte dIvoire. However, almost all political institutions and foreign embassies continue to be located in Abidjan. Because Abidjan is also the largest city in the country and the centre of its economic activity, it has officially been designated as the economic capital of the country. The lagoon Ébrié , sometimes called Ahizi lagoon is a lagoon with brackish water located in Ivory Coast . It has an area of approximately 560 km², with a maximum width of 7 km, an average depth of 4.8 m, a maximum depth of 20 m 1 and a length of 130 km (in an east-west direction).
The main tributaries are the Agnéby , the Mé (across the Potou lagoon ) and the Comoé . The lagoon is connected to the Gulf of Guinea by the Vridi canal , built to allow the opening of the port of Abidjan within the waters of the lagoon. To the west, the lagoon is linked to the Bandama and the Grand-Lahou lagoon by the Asagni canal which crosses the Asagni national park . To the east, it is connected with the Ouladine lagoon and the Potou lagoon. The natural connection between the lagoon and the sea at the level of the Comoé estuary was naturally blocked following the boring of the Vridi canal . Our Amazing Ivory Coast Trip
Full video of our trip to Ivory Coast in November 2019.
This was my first time ever trying B-Roll and shooting in general. Christelle (my fiancee) planned the trip so I had no idea what I would be filming and she had no idea I wanted to film. It was impossible to capture everything I experienced but I'm happy with what I was able to put together. Considering all I used was my android phone and Osmo Mobile 3 for a gimbal, I hope I did Cote D'Ivoire some kind of justice.
Ivory Coast is the 5th African county that I've experienced and it definitely has a place in my heart, especially because it is the home country of ma peche and her family. Some of the places we visited include Abidjan, Assinie, and Basilique Notre-Dame de la Paix.
Feel free to provide constructive criticism. I'm always open to improving and I don't know whether or not I will attempt filming again. I did like that it allowed me to be in the moment more compared to photography. For the most part I captured on the go and moved on.

Before i reach Cote D'Ivoire / Ivory Coast, I have a wrong impression what is inside Africa. I used to picture it out as a Rainforest area, but during this first tour around Abidjan, I have known and seen a beautiful place, far better than how searches give us results when we type in Africa.
Somehow, it encourages me to show the world what West Africa is~ the streets, the living condition, the food and events based from an inside view. So we could all appreciate how beautiful this country is. Travel with me as I tour around the city. Welcome to Abidjan, Ivory Coast / West Africa!

ASSINE (IVORY COAST)
Travel diary of my trip to the Ivory Coast in West Africa. Assine beach has fishermen that work every day to feed the locals and the sell fish to the hotels on the coastline. I wanted to capture the excitement and hard work that goes into every day for people of Assine. While traveling on holiday and escaping your own life, watching the locals feed the village.
I found it a great adventure traveling in West Africa, the people are extremely friendly and the food is delicious. A place to explore and a destination of beauty and mindfulness.

INSIDE AFRICA: MID AUTUMN FESTIVAL 2019 in IVORY COAST
Our way of celebrating Taiwan's Mid-Autumn Festival 2019 in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. It is also known as Moon Festival. Since we are in Ivory Coast, we celebrated it quite different from the traditional, originally, it is celbrated through the following:
As with every Chinese festival, the Mid-Autumn Festival has its own special food – moon cake. It is a kind of cookie with various fillings and different artistic patterns on the surface depicting the legends of the festival. Generally, it is round, as the Mid- Autumn Festival is a time for family reunion, and “round” has a similar pronunciation with “reunion” in Chinese. During the festival, people sacrifice these cookies to the moon as offerings, eat them for celebration and present them to relatives and friends for good wishes (Ref:
