Peru keeps blowing my mind, it's such a diverse country not only in landscapes but also in culture and the way people live. The Uros people who live one floating villages on Lake Titicaca have on an altitude of almost 4000m have developed one of the most unique ways of living. Hundreds of years ago they escaped the wrath of the Incas and lived on the water instead of the land so the Incas couldn't get to them. The reeds were their only resource and the learned to make everything out of them, and the y still do to this day. It's insane!
The closest town Puno has the best price/value relation in terms of shopping, everything was much cheaper than in the other tourist hot spots. We drove with the overnight bus from Cusco to Puno and enjoyed every minute at Lake Titicaca

Travel beautiful PERU in 4K - a PERU travel film
Come with us on our journey through beautiful and breathtaking Peru in 4K. With highlights such as the Ballestas islands, Machu Picchu, the Salkantay trek, Cusco, Gocta falls and so much more.
We have made this travel film on a three week backback journey through Peru in November. We started in the Capital Lima. From there we traveled to Paracas, where there are beautiful sand dunes and the famous Ballestas islands. After that we went with the night bus to Arequipa, a lovely city to sightsee, have a good meal and just relax. We also did a two day trip trough Colca Canyon. A chalanging hike which was a good warm up for our 5 day Salkantay trek! After this trek it was time to go into the mountains, Cusco! We stayed here for a couple of days to get used to the hight and did some little excursions. And then, it was finally time for the highlight of our trip; the Salkantay trek! 5 days of hiking with extreme hights, beautiful views and as the final destination; Machu Picchu. Finally we went up north to witness the Gocta Falls with our own eyes. And stayed at the Gocta Lodge which gives you an amazing view on the falls, from the infinity pool :)
