ETAT D'AVANCEE DE LA CONSTRUCTION DU PONT DE L'ECHANGEUR D'AKOUEDO NOUVEAU CAMP
Dans la droite ligne de la construction de la voie de contournement de la ville d'Abidjan, il est prévu de nombreux ponts pour faciliter la circulation sur cette voie. C'est la construction de l'un d'entre-eux que je me propose de vous montrer en image dans cette vidéo. Il se situe non loin du nouveau camp militaire d'Akouédo, précisément au croisement des boulevards de France et de Mitterrand en allant ou venant de Bingerville. Le pont Félix-Houphouët-Boigny à Abidjan.
Les travaux de réhabilitation du pont Félix-Houphouët-Boigny ont été officiellement lancés ce vendredi 6 avril à Abidjan. Le premier pont de la capitale économique ivoirienne qui relie depuis plus de soixante ans les deux rives de la lagune, avait besoin d'une sérieuse réfection pour permettre aux voitures, camions et train de continuer à y circuler en toute sécurité.
Vieux d'une soixantaine d'années, le pont Félix-Houphouët-Boigny, achevé en 1957 avait besoin d'une sérieuse cure de rajeunissement. Et si les travaux ont officieusement débuté il y a quatre mois, c'est ce vendredi que le Premier ministre Amadou Gon Coulibaly a procédé à l'inauguration officielle du chantier qui durera encore 26 mois : « Le pont Félix-Houphouët-Boigny a toujours été le passage obligé du trafic à destination et en provenance du port d’Abidjan avec plus de 85% des échanges commerciaux de notre pays. Cet ouvrage long d’environ 750 mètres a aujourd’hui besoin d’être réhabilité. »
Quotidiennement, ce sont au moins 90 000 véhicules par jour, dont un tiers de poids lourds, qui passent sur cet édifice, ainsi que le train de la Société internationale de transport africain par rail (Sitarail). Il devenait donc urgent de faire quelque chose pour réhabiliter les piliers attaqués par l'érosion des eaux de la lagune Ebrié.
« Les fondations sont fatiguées »
Pour Christian Combes, directeur Afrique Eiffage Infrastructures, « effectivement, les fondations sont fatiguées, nécessitent d’être refaites. Ce qu’on est en train de faire aujourd’hui, ce sont des méthodes de travail qui vont permettre de minimiser les interventions lourdes et longues sur le tablier de façon à ne pas perturber le trafic pendant les journées et laisser le trafic se dérouler normalement. »
Estimé à 41,7 milliards de francs CFA, 62,5 millions d’euros, le chantier est financé par le C2D (Contrat de Désendettement et de Développement) géré par l'Agence française de développement, les travaux de réhabilitation s'achèveront en 2020 afin que cette artère, primordiale pour la ville d’Abidjan, le pays et même la sous-région, puisse continuer à délivrer ses millions de tonnes de marchandises à l'import ou à l'export.

Salut!
The floating island of Abidjan also known as Île flottante in French just recently popped up on our social media a few weeks ago despite the fact that it has been around for like 3 years!!!. So obviously i had to go and check it out. It's always fun finding something interesting and adventurous to do in Abidjan since most fun activities are on the outskirts of Abidjan.
I would say if you have never been to a floating island then île flottante is a good place to be. It's a marvelous yet scary feeling when the whole place moves with the water current.
