In April 2017 I left Australia for a solo trip around the world on a BMW F800GS. I named it “Are We There Yet” because I don't know my final destination or the duration of this journey.
Throughout my journey, I was raising money for a young disabled child in Poland named Franek. Franek was diagnosed with cerebral palsy (weakness of the entire right side of the body) and he will require constant rehabilitation for the rest of his life. All the money raised will go directly to helping Franek and his family so he can lead a normal life as best as possible, so please donate generously:

BMW G310R First Ride to Sholay Spot (PART 2)
Ramadevara Betta Trek also the Ramgad of Sholay; Sholay shooting location. Indias only Vulture Sanctuary at Ramanagara Tourism, Bangalore Tourism, and Karnataka Tourism.
About 70 km away from Bangalore, Ramadevara Betta Hills is a popular spot for treks near Bangalore within 100Kms. It’s the famous spot where the Bollywood Blockbuster ‘Sholay’ was shot. Standing tall at the height of 3900 ft, Ramadevara Betta is located on the outskirts of the Kyatsandra town. From the highway, Ramadevara Betta appears as a massive rocky mountain with a vast plain on the peak. The summit of the hill has a temple of Lord Rama and frequented by many devotees. This hill had also featured in one of the famous movies called “Passage to India”.
There are two temples at the top- One being Rama Temple another being Rameshwar Temple. From the foothills, you need to climb around 400 steps to reach the first temple. The route is in the middle of the forest and is quite exciting...

Solo Woman Rider Crosses into Iran on a BMW F800GS. EP 10
Iran was the 9th country I visited on my round the world tour. Officially motorcycles over 250cc are illegal in Iran and woman are not allowed to ride. But Iran is a strange country where the law is one thing and the way people interpret it, another. Normally these laws apply to Iranian citizens but not so much to tourists on big bikes. During my stay I didn't have any problems at the border crossings or on the road when stopped by Police... and I was stopped a lot!
Despite how Iran is perceived in the world’s media and how distorted the public’s knowledge of Iran is, It's a stable country, open to tourism, with a low crime rate. All the people I've come across were kind and generous, even the Police! As a woman travelling solo, I've never felt safer than in Iran.
I entered Iran from Turkmenistan and traveled South. This Episode shows my first few days through
Dasht-e Kavir (Salt Desert) from Bojnurd to Yazd.

First Ride: BMW G310GS
First Ride: BMW G310GS
This is my video of my First Ride on BMW's G310GS, the 'Baby GS'. It was done on a bit of a whim, as my R1250GS was in for a service, and the dealer had offered me a loan bike for a few hours.
As you can probably tell, this wasn't entirely planned, but I had enough curiosity about the bike to pack my GoPro's at the last minute to give it a go. The bike is a mere £5,100 in the UK, or 30% of the cost of an R1250GS... so don't expect the same. Not even close. However, just because it's not it's bigger sibling, it's still a lot of bike for that price.
Massive thanks to the guys at Alan Jefferies South Yorkshire for letting me borrow the bike for a few hours, while they were working on mine.
Though I couldn't remember while riding, the G310GS is around 170Kg, which is 20-30kg more than a CRF250L. It didn't feel particularly heavy, but it's definitely there, and though I really liked the bike, losing 20-30Kg would have made it even better.
