Carnival Splendor Inside Spa Cabin Tour May 2019
Carnival Splendor is coming to Australia this December 2019 and will be cruising out of Sydney.
My husband and I were lucky enough to enjoy a 7-day cruise on Carnival Splendor last May 2019. We cruised the “Mexican Riviera” and stayed in an inside spa cabin.
The inside spa cabin is an excellent choice if you are looking to have an affordable, relaxing holiday on a cruise ship that is choc full of great features fellow Aussies will just love.
Although we cruised prior to the recent drydock updates in Singapore, I’m sure Aussies are curious to know about what makes this Carnival ship a truly unique and fun ship to cruise on. This series of videos will give Aussies an insight in to what they may expect once she is based in Sydney, Australia.
In this quick video join us on a tour showing the features of our inside spa cabin, together with a look at the special warm Thlassotherapy spa pool which is a benefit included in the cost of this type of cabin (there is also balcony spa cabins onboard). We took advantage of port days when the many passengers left the ship for the day, and we spent a of time relaxing in the fantastic spa.
Be sure to watch out for future videos highlighting the other onboard facilities, including the quirky decor (prior to the drydock update) and the fun and games onboard. I am sure you will agree, Carnival Splendor is a perfect match for Aussie cruisers.

Carnival Splendor Mexican Riviera Vlog - Day 3
Hey Cruisers, It's day 3 of our Carnival Splendor Mexican Riviera Cruise, and we're heading out for an awesome Carnival excursion in Cabo. If you are researching cruises for yourself, please remember our wonderful sponsor:
We start the day off bright and early with a fresh hot cup of coffee and a look at the retractable roof over the pool area. Splendor takes advantage of the retractable roof, and I think it enhances the cruise experience. We've got big activities planned for this day with Carnival's own Aqua Trio Adventure excursion. It's a day filled with beautiful ocean scenery, powered water snorkel scooters, kayaking, and standup paddle boarding. Cabo is a tender port, and we were happy to see Splendor taking advantage of Cabo's own tender service. I prefer Cabo Tenders because they are more open, and don't feel quite as stuffy as the ship's tenders. In port security checks meant long lines, but it actually went quite quickly. After a short wait, we were off on our adventure. Our guide took us on a little detour for some bonus whale watching. If you look carefully you'll see the whale we spotted. The first part of the Aqua Trio Adventure was snorkel scooter, and I've gotta say these were super fun. We were a little worried it would be too much for our son, and weren't sure he'd like it. You'll see his reaction in the video. Kayaking was relatively relaxing, and we all enjoyed the family time together. The standup paddle boarding was more of a workout than I expected, but hey, gotta work off the buffet some time, right? We round out this Carnival Splendor Mexican Riviera vlog with a look at our dining room experience ... and a little dancing.

Carnival Splendor Mexican Riviera Vlog - Day 1 Spa Tour
Hi Cruisers! It's day one of our awesome Carnival Splendor Mexican Riviera Cruise, and we've got a long, but hopefully fun and tip filled cruise vlog for you. But first, don't forget our wonderful sponsor:
As I mentioned above this vlog is a bit long, so if you'd like to skip to some highlights you can jump to the Spa Tour at 9:39 and sail away here 20:18. We've also got a little footage of the teen club here at 15:06 and the kids club here at 9:17. Before we get into the details of our cruise vlog, a few apologies are in order. First, we tried to use Apple's pricey AirPods for some of the audio, and it just sounds weird. Second, you may have noticed that in some of our videos I say Excited alot. Well, let's just say I haven't managed to dial that back just yet. In my defense I WAS super excited. And finally, I was chewing gum in the spa tour, and it just looks bad. Super sorry about all that. On with the det's! We started our day 1 cruise vlog with a trip to the newly remodeled Long Beach cruise terminal, and I offered up tips on how to not get lost in this confusing area ... and I got lost. Once we finally got to the port, things went swimmingly. In fact, things went so well we didn't even have time to sit down really before being shuttled off to the gangway. The new terminal is running so smoothly! When we got aboard most of the crew we ran into tried to usher us off to the buffet. Normally we try to avoid the first day buffet crowds, but the crew was pretty relentless in suggesting we eat first. We gave in, and headed to our new secret dining spot on the Splendor. You'll want to see this spot if you will be cruising on the Splendor any time soon. Then we took our son to check out the kids club. We booked a spa cabin on the Splendor for this cruise, and we were anxious to check out the perks that go along with this option, so we headed up to the spa for a tour. Even if you don't book a spa cabin on the Splendor you should check out the tour. It was super cool seeing all the features of the spa. Not only that, but the staff was really friendly and fun. After a bit of ship exploring, and a few muster false alarms (my fault), it was sail away time. This is always fun on Carnival, and Carnival Splendor was no exception. The crew really goes all out trying to make sail away fun. You can see an example of this at the start of the sail away sequence with JJ's high flying moves. We round out day one of our Carnival Splendor Mexican Riviera Vlog with a fine dinner in the main dining room, and a stop by the Carnival Splendor welcome aboard show (with Splendor's own fun dude MarQ). Carnival Splendor Mexican Riviera Vlog - Day 2 Sea Day Activities
Hey Cruisers! It's day 2 of our Carnival Splendor Mexican Riviera cruise, and we've got a full day of sea day fun ahead. If you've ever wondered what to do on a Carnival Cruise sea day, this video will give you a good look at some of the available sea day activities. But first, don't forget our wonderful sponsor:
This sea day started off beautifully with coffee and peaceful ocean views on deck. I roamed around the relatively quiet ship, and some breakfast and chatted with the friendly crew. Next we all headed out for a little sea day shopping. Splendor has some great shops, and you can also find some fun cruise souvenirs available at temporary tables and booths on the ships decks and even in the pool area. We dropped by the candy shop Cherry On Top to scope out a few fun treats, and then headed over to the arcade for a little fun with our son. I used to think I was good at Skee ball, but my son totally blew me away. Time to pass the skee ball crown on I guess. Our next sea day activity was the cooking demonstration in the steak house. This was super fun, and we are glad we didn't miss it. You get to see how things are prepared, and they give you recipes. And of course, you get to tasted some delicious samples. After all those samples I decided to burn a few calories with a Thriller dance lesson in the atrium. We had a good crowd, and it was lots of fun. Sleepy Town called me in for a quick cruise nap, and then I headed off to the spa. You're not going to believe how the spa was. If you want to know what the crowd is like in the spa on a sea day formal night, you'll see it in this cruise vlog (spoiler - it wasn't crowded). While I was in the spa the boys were busy making towel animals, and I've got to say they did a fine job. Our cabin was littered with towel animals. After my spa visit it was time to prep for formal night. We had reservations at the steakhouse, so you'll get to look in on our dinner, and see some of the friendly crew we talked with. We round out this sea day activities vlog with a look at the show in the Spectacular Spectacular lounge. All in all it was a fantastic sea day.

Hi Cruisers, It's time for Day 4 of our Carnival Splendor Mexican Riviera Vlog. This time we are doing something a little different. We're going to give you a step-by-step look at how we get to Medano Beach. Getting back to today's video, our goal is to get to Billygan's at Medano Beach. Billygan's has become one of our favorite places to visit in Cabo. The drinks are relatively inexpensive, the food is great, and the beach always offers a fun time. If you are looking for things to do in cabo san lucas while on a cruise, we think Medano Beach and Billygan's is a great choice. We are going to start you right off the ship, and hop on a Cabo Tender. From there we'll take you through the process of finding and hiring a water Taxi. Of course, there's no way to be sure you'll get the same deal we got, but you'll get an idea of how much a Cabo water taxi costs. Once we arrive on the beach, we'll let you know how to make your way to Billygan's. Along the way we'll offer as many tips as we can think of, and try to help with your decisions on what to do in Cabo San Lucas. After food, drinks and fun in the sun, it time to find our way back to port. We'll close out the video with a quick wrap up at dinner.

So why did we decide to combine days 6 & 7 in this cruise vlog? Well, the truth is, other than a quick visit to the arcade and some crazy trips down the waterslide, we pretty much just hung out in our cabin resting and watching TV. We stayed up late the night before, and a little sea day rest seemed in order. While we didn't film a lot on day 6 we sure enjoyed it. Day 7 I'm back in vlog mode, and I sit down in front of the camera to share everything I found out about our Carnival Splendor spa cabin. When we booked our spa cabin we really didn't know about everything that was included. If you're considering booking a spa cabin on the Carnival Splendor you'll want to tune into this video. If you're not interested in all the vlog silliness, you can fast forward to the spa info' at around 4:10 minutes in. I've also got some information about Carnival Splendor's debarkation routine. Carnival seems to really be working hard to get debarkation right. It certainly has gotten better for us over the past year. If you're interested in the debarkation information, you can find it around 11:00 minutes in. We'll also give you a look at our new packing routine that helps us avoid a little of the last day of cruise blues. We close out the video with a visit to the steakhouse. Carnival Splendor Spa Cabin Tour And Organization
Hey Cruisers, Today we are going to give you a tour of the Carnival Splendor spa cabin 1117. This is a terrific stateroom with lots of storage. We are also going to show you how I organize the cabin. We've sailed on Carnival cruise ships quite a number of times, so I've developed a bit of a routine when it comes to organization. Again, this is a spa cabin, but the storage options in the spa cabin are essentially the same as other balcony cabins, and you'll see similar cabin layouts in many of the Carnival cruise ships. We start off with general look at the stateroom, and then move to cabin storage, drawers, counters, closets, and even cover a bit of the bathroom area. I mentioned a bunch of things we use in the video, so I'll list them below for convenience.
