Hanoi City, The Old Town/Quarter - ???????? Vietnam [4K HDR] Walking Tour

Riding through the old quarter of Hanoi City, Vietnam on a tricycle. Click here ▶ to see highlights and guide.

(From wiki):
The residential and commercial area that is now the Old Quarter came to be during the Lý and Trần dynasties and was then located east of the Imperial Citadel of Thăng Long and along the Red River. During the Lê dynasty, scholar Nguyễn Trãi already mentioned some of the areas each specialized in one particular trade. It was then surrounded by a defensive wall with several gates.

During the Lý and Trần dynasties, many people from the surrounding plains migrated to the city and settled in what is now the Old Quarter, creating the densest urban area of the city. The Lê dynasty period saw an additional influx of Chinese immigrants who arrived to trade, creating several Chinese neighbourhoods..

When the French ruled over Vietnam, they partially rebuilt the area. This period saw many French and Indians settling there to conduct business. Two small markets were demolished to make place for Đồng Xuân Market. Furthermore a tramway was constructed through the quarter.

The area is still the commercial heart of Hanoi.

VIETNAM STREET FOOD TOUR in HANOI's Old Quarter | DELICIOUS Vietnamese Food in Hanoi, Vietnam

Today's video is a continuation of Episode 2 where I visited a local Vietnamese home kitchen to try authentic recipes prep.
The shots I filmed that day were too much so I divided them into two episodes!

So for today, since I am still full from the scrumptious food I had in Nha MIn, I decided to walk around the Hoan Kiem Lake.
It was so beautiful and I felt so relaxed by just staring at the lake. Then, I met Tuan and Andy. We had a little chit chat until
Tuan craved for some Banh Mi. So we started walking towards the Old Quarter until we found a Banh Mi stall. Andy had Bacon Banh Mi
and Tuan had Char siu Banh Mi, each costs 30.000vnd/1.29usd. I ordered my first ever beer in Hanoi, the Saigon Beer. Andy recommended
it and it was actually good, refreshing, and very light. When my tummy had a little room for snack, I bought a pork doner kebab just
across the Banh Mi stall for 25.000vnd/1.07usd. It was very flavorful and meaty. I liked the crunch from the veg and the bread is like
the same recipe of a Vietnamese Baguette but shaped like a pita. I love how this Turkish dish was adapted by the Vietnamese people and
made it their own. I mean, where else would you see a doner kebab using pork and baguette? Amazing! After that delicious snack, we
said goodbye to Andy and Tuan and met a client in the area. Our meeting ended a little late so we looked for something to eat.
And we found a pork bbq being sold at the night market! Sadly, my camera died before I got to film it. But it was pretty tasty!

Tonight was tiring but my heart is full. I was able to film Nha Min, meet new people at the lake, close a deal at the Old Quarter, eat some good
street food. Can you believe it was just my 2nd day? Haha. This has always been my dream. To travel, meet new people, and learn about
their culture and history through food. Thank you so much for watching! And I will see you on Episode 4. Good bye from Hanoi!♥

Hanoi, Vietnam Old Quarter walking tour

travel videos & photos at: with text, maps & links.
Hanoi's Old Quarter is one of the great destinations in Asia, densely packed with open store-fronts, lots of people, scooters buzzing by, many cheap places to eat, historic buildings and friendly people. The Old Quarter of Hanoi is often known as the 36 streets, but in fact, now there are more than 36 streets, each one providing rewards for the intrepid visitor. 35. The old quarter is different from other places in Hanoi. Preserving the houses in the old quarter is very necessary, and according to the plan, the Hanoi people committee are planning to preserve the old houses in the old quarter, so it can keep the original state. However the planned renovations might change the existing historic character, so you better visit soon to get this authentic old-fashioned experience.

CAFE NOLA - A Very Cool Cafe in Hanoi's OLD QUARTER | VIETNAM 2018

If you're coming to Hanoi and love to visit cafes, Cafe NOLA should definitely be on your list. This hip and cool cafe is tucked away in a tiny alley in Hanoi's Old Quarter. It's full of lush vegetation and old French Colonial charm. It's the perfect spot to enjoy a quiet cup of coffee or read a book away from the noisy streets just outside.

Exploring The OLD QUARTER of Hanoi ???????? | Solo Travel Vietnam | Vietnam Travel Vlog (Ep. 1)

I visited the Old Quarter of Hanoi, Vietnam for the first time. I must say it was far different than any other city I have ever been.

The main reason for this is the traffic. It's literally intense. Motorbikes are literally like locust. Being constantly aware of the motorbikes around you is a must. Fortunately, they go around you like the game in frogger.

There is so much more to Hanoi than I was able to explore. I only visited 2-kilometer radius around my hotel/hostel. I only explored the area for 6 days.

HANOI'S OLD QUARTER! | Hanoi to Danang

Day 33- Spent our last day in Hanoi exploring more of the Old Quarter. We went to eat some bun chui noodles, drank egg coffee at cafe pho co, and prepared to leave Hanoi to go to Da Nang.

Arrived to Danang via Vietjet air and settled in to out Airbnb accommodation. It was pretty nice and we have a great view of the city, also located in a central area with street food right outside of our place. Needless to say we had some Vietnamese street food there.

HANOI, VIETNAM ???????? [4K]

Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, is known for its centuries-old architecture and a rich culture with Southeast Asian, Chinese and French influences. We have spent 3 days in this unique city and managed to visit some beautiful places the likes of Hoan Kiem Lake, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Old City Gate, West Lake, Water Puppet Theatre, Dong Xuan Market, Old Quarter, St. Joseph’s Cathedral, Military Museum and Hang Dao Night Market.

While in Hanoi, we were staying at Centre Point Hotel Executive room with balcony. The hotel is within walking distance to many attractions. The best thing is the rooftop cafe. It such a romantic place during night time having coffee and enjoy the beautiful view of the lake. The spa provides a very good foot massage for VND200.@45mins. We've pre-booked the airport pickup service from the hotel for USD18/trip.

Vietnam Travel VLOG #2 - Hanoi Old Quarter

It's day 2 of our trip. All of us were still jet-lagged. Walking the streets of Hanoi brought back memories of living in Taiwan. It was humid and hot, but I (not the family) loved it.
