We are retiring early, becoming EXPATS and moving to NICARAGUA full time in 16 months!!! Planning our budget was one of our first big steps in determining where we wanted to live. Nicaragua is an amazing country and has one of the cheapest cost of living. Our budget shows you how you can live much cheaper than in Canada, USA and Europe, while maintaining a similar quality of life as in your home country. You will be surprised to see how affordable it is! We have provided our working spreadsheet of all our expenses, our costs are estimated on the higher end of what we are/will be expecting to pay - as we would rather have extra money left over every month than be short...this means more money for travelling!!!

Vlog 1 December 2023 | #realestate in Nicaragua is a challenge, a big one. It's hard and complex and very confusing to outsiders because the system is essentially unique. In a recent episode I talked about what NOT to do. That's great for stopping people before they do something foolhardy, but it doesn't tell you what to do instead. 6 February 2024 | If you are an expat and you aren't going to be in your house full time, there are obvious risks that can happen if people know that your house is empty for extended periods of time. While violent crime is very low in Nicaragua, crimes of opportunity like squatting and home robberies are common and you need to be wary.
