What are the worst cities to live in America? I’m not about to say America is a bad place, after all. However, we have shadowy and worst places to live in the United States that lack the real American spirit. If people knew those places existed in the US, they won’t be queueing for visas at their country’s US embassies. For example, Huntington Park is named the most miserable city in California, according to census data compiled by the Business Insider. Some cities are actually very bad in the US. We list here the 12 worst cities to live in America. And you know what, these cities were shinning glories of America several decades ago.
12. Washington DC
Can a nation’s capital ever be one of the worst cities to live in the country? The situation of things in Washington DC answers yes. Despite the visible presence of government and powerful security apparatus, Washington is one of the most dangerous cities in America with a crime rate about 147 percent above the national average.
Most of the politicians in government hardly spend their nights and weekends in the city. Just as it is everywhere, nations' capital city is always expensive, and Washington DC is no exception. The cost of living is exceptionally bad. Services, including education and medical, are far from being adequate. Behind all those glossy skyscrapers is the agony of the poor trapped amid affluence.

12 Most Miserable Cities in The United States [According to Residents]
The United States is a prosperous country, yet life in some of its major cities may be difficult. Destruction, lack of resources, high rates of addiction and crime, natural calamities, and a high percentage of abandoned buildings are all characteristics of these wretched urban areas. Several of these urban centers have been hit hard by natural calamities as well. Some places have a lot of crime and blight, while others have a lot of substance abuse problems. Based on poll results and census statistics, these are the 12 most miserable cities in the United States.
12. Brownsville, Texas
Over 31% of Brownsville's 183,000 population live below the poverty line. There are more than 35% of the population who do not have access to medical coverage. Due to its proximity to the Mexican border and its use by illegal immigrants, this city is one of the most heavily guarded in the United States. In the eyes of the inhabitants, there are three distinct kinds of rotorcraft constantly circling the sky. Some locals have had a hard time selling their homes because of the rising fear of a potential immigration crisis.
11. Mobile, Alabama
Despite the city of Mobile's best efforts, the unemployment number is still rather high and earnings are still quite low. Although the unemployment rate is reported to be 5.4%, this number does not take into consideration the large number of people who are unofficially employed but would want to be. Sadly, the work market has not improved over time. They don't pay well enough to support even a middle-class family. Compared to the rest of the country, the median household income here is much lower at $43,521. Mobile is particularly low-income. Even though the cost of living is lower in this region, many people still have trouble making ends meet. Many individuals are attempting to leave Mobile because of the dismal job market in the hopes of finding better opportunities elsewhere. The outlook is really dim at this point. No one would ever want to live in a city where both violence and earnings are on the increase. As a consequence, homeowners in the neighborhood are selling their properties to the highest bidder.
10. Newark, New Jersey
There are 282,000 people living in Newark; 62% of them have jobs; 28% of them are poor. It takes more than 35 minutes, on average, for people to go to and from work. The city's water supply has been tainted with lead, much like Flint's. There have been more than a few cases of violent crime in the city in 2013.
9. Huntington, West Virginia
Huntington's population has been falling over the last five years. There are numerous potential causes of a population reduction, and although this may not necessarily warrant alarm, it is still something to keep an eye on. A bigger percentage of Huntington's population (21.6%) lives in poverty than in any other American city. Across American cities, the poverty rate is between 10 and 13 percent on average. West Virginia has a higher unemployment rate than the rest of the country. Distance from any major metropolitan area is rather high. Substance abuse, including heroin addiction, is a major issue in the Mountain State. Some residents of West Virginia fit into derogatory clichés, while others struggle to accept newcomers.
8. Little Rock, Arkansas
Arkansas has an above-average rate of violent crime, and this rate is rising. Six incidences for every one thousand persons is the current rate. Moving to Arkansas means you'll need to beef up your security measures at home. In order to feel safe, it's important to have a cutting-edge security system. For your own safety, you should also use basic travel sense. The region near Interstate 630 contains the majority of Little Rock's hazardous neighborhoods.

What are the worst places to live in Wales? This is tough, though, we know. But we have to lay it bare and mention it as we have felt it in the pulse of the people. Before we go on, however, we have to state emphatically that you can’t find a country that has every part of it equally great, glittering like gold. Every country has its own fair share of problems. Wales can never be an exemption. While there are naturally and architecturally beautiful places in Wales that we will happily recommend for anyone to live in, the region also has places considered terrible. Based on the reviews of those who have lived or are still living there, here are the 12 worst places to live in Wales.
12. Denbighshire
Denbighshire, a county in the northeast of Wales has been in the news for different reasons at different times. Today, we are looking at how good the place is for living. A website where residents of towns and cities review their residences has not been kind to this county. One of the reviewers decries what he described as running the gauntlet for the most dirt, adding that the streets, pubs, and shops are the most ridiculous in the UK. The review goes on to mention shops with a poor customer base.
11. Aberdare
In the Cynon Valley area of Rhondda Cynon Taf, you will find the town of Aberdare at the confluence of the Rivers Dare and Cynon. The town 6 kilometer southwest of Merthyr Tydfil and 32 kilometers northwest of Cardiff is the third most dangerous small town in Mid- Glamorgan. And of the 68 towns, villages, and cities in Mid-Glamorgan, it is among the most dangerous places. In fact, the 2021 overall crime rate in Aberdare was 102 crimes per 1,000 people. This was 30 percent higher than the Mid-Glamorgan rate. In the whole of England, Wales, and Northern Ireland, Aberdare ranks high among the most dangerous small towns.
10. Ebbw Vale
Ebbw Vale, the largest town in Blaenau Gwent is on this list for good reasons. If you would love to buy a home anywhere in England and Wales, you would find the cheapest here. However, hardly would anyone enjoy living in a place with the second-lowest mean salary in the UK. And we don’t know what you would love to do in a town with one of the worst GCSE results in Wales. In this small area of about 108 square kilometers, five food banks operate indicative of how bad the place is financially and economically. Ebbw Vale is a story of the result of the deindustrialization of the 1980s. This is an example of a poor move from one form of economic life to another and diversification.
9. Pontypool
Let us consider also Pontypool, a town and the administrative center of the county borough of Torfaen. Located within the historic boundaries of Monmouthshire, this town has given South Wales Valleys the description it doesn’t deserve. The major issue with this town is that everyone seems to know each other and their businesses. They can’t mind their business here and if you love privacy, Pontypool is one of the few places you have to avoid. A while ago, this town had one of the highest antisocial behaviors and crime rates in Britain. We wish we didn’t have to amplify that awful rating.
8. Llangefni, Wales
Llangefni, the county town of Anglesey, has too many bad reviews and ranking than what we can comment on. We have observed that what seems scary to those visitors isn’t too serious for many who were born there. However, what will make life boring for you in Llangefni is that the population as a whole is older than the national average. Unless you’re prepared to work as a nurse, that’s not a good place to live. Another issue is that the rate of unemployment there is higher than the national average.

What are the most depressing cities to live in the United States? Hey, have you ever wondered what the most depressing cities in the United States are? I know this might not be the most uplifting topic, and maybe you’re thinking, “why would anyone want to know this?” But hear me out! There are a lot of people who are curious about this topic for several reasons. Some people want to see if their city is on the list, some want to see what cities to avoid, and others just want to know more about the places with the highest levels of depression. Whatever your reason is, we’ve got you covered! In this video, I will talk about the 12 most depressing cities in the United States. But before I start, I just want to inform you that this video is not meant to be slanderous or mean-spirited in any way. These are just facts based on data collected by various sources. So with that out of the way, let's get started.
12. Springfield, MO
In Springfield, there were 2,993 violent crimes reported in 2020 or 632 violent crimes for every 100,000 residents. Despite a slight decrease in overall violent crime in the metro area in 2020, the reported number of homicides increased more than 50%, from 17 to 26. That's one reason it's on the list of most depressing cities in the United States. Crime is disproportionately concentrated in poor neighborhoods. In Springfield, 15.4% of residents live below the poverty level, compared to 12.3% of all Americans. That means more people are struggling to make ends meet and fewer resources to go around. When people struggle to survive, they are more likely to commit crimes.
11. Camden, New Jersey
With just over 74,000 people, Camden is the 11th most depressing city in the United States. 37% of residents live in poverty, and the average household income is just $26,105. The city has recently experienced a population decline, with a 4% decrease from 2010 to 2018.
Camden, New Jersey, was once a manufacturing city, but that industry completely collapsed between the 1950s and the 1970s. Although it has a reputation as one of the most dangerous cities in the nation and has a high crime rate, Camden has been working to revitalize itself in recent years. The city has seen a decrease in murders due to enhanced police actions.
10. Flint, Michigan
Despite its well-publicized problems, Flint is still home to 96,000 people. That's a 6% decrease from 2010, but it's still a significant population. Unfortunately, 41% of those people live in poverty while just over half are employed. The collapse in the industry has been difficult for the city. By 1990, General Motors had reduced its workforce there, resulting in thousands of job losses. Flint is arguably best known for the lead poisoning problem that has plagued the city's water supply since 2014. Additionally, there are 20,000 abandoned properties, a persistently high murder rate, and an opioid crisis to cope with. It's no wonder that Flint is considered one of the most miserable places in America.
9. Rockford, Illinois
It is no secret that Rockford, IL has been struggling for quite some time now. Ever since the manufacturing industry started to decline in the early 1980s, the city's economy has been in a downward spiral. This is reflected in the high unemployment rate - 11.2% at the latest count, which is one of the highest in the country. In addition, Rockford has the dubious distinction of having one of the highest property tax rates in the U.S. It means that many residents struggle to make ends meet. As of now, it's good to know that Rockford is starting to see some signs of revitalization. People have a motivation to stay and explore downtown because of the independent stores, local art, entertainment, and diversified food scene. Hoping that this city makes a full recovery soon.

What are the worst towns in England? I need to begin this video by acknowledging the fact that the content is a development of an outline based on my subscribers’ thoughts. After seeing the videos about the 12 worst towns to live in England, your comments trailing the video were informative. They highlight the facts of our being free moral agents that reserve the right to agree or disagree on issues including ranking and analyzing towns and cities. From the corroborations and differences of opinions of my subscribers, I discover the towns that are really worst in general opinion. From that compilation, here is my subscribers' list of the 12 worst towns to live in England. I’ll dwell more on the ones I haven’t told you much about.
12. Tilbury
Let’s start with a town in the borough of Thurrock in Essex in England. Many of my subscribers mentioned this towns mainly because of its mismatched tarmac and potholes. They also pointed to the high-rise buildings surrounding the lower flat-roofed homes. Such a place wouldn’t be a nice place to live, would it? Many of those houses are fading away while their paint is peeling off the walls. Imagine living in a town with such peels littering your garden. Those residing in the town have reasons to complain about how kids move about unsupervised, constituting a nuisance in the communities and posing security threats. One resident complained: There are some people who don't care about their houses . . . I think younger people now don't have much to do . . . You see six and seven-year-olds walking around the area on their own and you think 'Where are their parents?'. . . I'm only staying here because I can't afford to move.” The town is full of many unemployed people and consequently, there’s a lot of poverty in Tilbury.
11. Middlesbrough
Thank you for agreeing with all I have said about this industrial town on England's northeast coast. Scanning through the bad press it often gets, you will see how Middlesbrough is lagging on different yardsticks by different researchers or polls. Let’s just hope that someday, Smoggies, as the residents are called, will get their acts together and uplift their town.
10. Willenhall
The introduction of Willenhall as one of the worst towns to live in England on my subscribers’ list is quite a revelation. It demonstrates that I’m dealing with highly knowledgeable subscribers who are bent on consuming and sharing nothing but the truth. Indeed, this market town between the Metropolitan Borough of Walsall and Wolverhampton deserves to be here. In the West Midlands as a suburb of Coventry, this town has been rated the 32nd most dangerous among the medium-sized town in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland. The latest reliable available crime rate in Willenhall is 42 crimes per 1,000 people. It’d be a serious error of omission if Willenhall isn’t mentioned here.
9. Morecambe
Morecambe, a seaside town in the City of Lancaster district in Lancashire, should definitely be on this list. If you saw our video of the worst seaside resorts in the UK, you’d have seen a lot about Morecambe. It’s therefore not surprising that my subscribers consider it one of the worst towns to live in England on their list. The high rate of crime and level of deprivation has ensured that life is far from comfortable in this town. Its tourism industry had failed to thrive since it went moribund in the mid-20th century. Let’s just hope that the huge investment being planned for this town will better its lot.

You know some countries are more dangerous than Detroit or a Lingerie party at my cousin's ex-wife's house. Yes, it's hard to believe, I know.
In general, the world can be a dangerous place. You could be in danger no matter where your plane lands. The thing is, some countries excel in danger. And some even bump that up a notch depending on where you hail from. If you think everyone in the world loves America and its people, you’ve lived a sheltered life and I want to congratulate you on escaping from where ever you were and are now able to get on the internet to watch this video.
The fact is, some countries are dangerous for everyone, especially Americans, so much so the Dept. of State updates a report every couple weeks called Travel Advisory. This is a report that ranks the danger level a country might have for Americans that travel there. It has colors like a mood right of danger and goes from level 1 Blue that Exercise normal precautions, up to 4) Red Do not travel.

Hi everyone! Did you know that some cities in America are more dangerous than others? In this video, I will show you the 12 most dangerous cities in America and what makes them so unsafe. Now, before we get started, I just want to say that I'm not trying to scare anyone. Just because a city is on this list doesn't mean it's automatically off-limits. It's just important to be aware of these things so that you can take extra precautions when traveling to these areas.
So, without further ado, let's get into it. These are the 12 most dangerous cities in America.
12. Stockton, California
It is the county seat of San Joaquin County in Central California. According to the FBI, Stockton is more dangerous than 95% of American cities. You might be surprised if you find out that it has 229 percent more violent crimes than the national average. And guess what? The most common crimes are property, theft, and assault. If you travel here, be very careful with your belongings.
But over the past year, it's good to know that crime has dropped by more than 20%. The City of Stockton has recently prioritized community outreach and crime reduction due to realizing the need for improvement.
11. Rockford, Illinois
It is the third largest city in the state and the largest metropolitan area in the country. According to the website 24/7 Wall Street, Rockford’s unemployment rate (6.8%) is far above the state and the national average of 3.9%. Yes, it is a significant problem in this city. How does this relate to crime? Well, if more people are unemployed, that usually means more people are desperate. And when people are desperate, they sometimes turn to crime to make ends meet. Did you know that the majority of violent crimes in Rockford are aggravated assaults? This accounts for about three out of every four violent crimes in the city. It is definitely a place that you want to be careful of.
10. Kalamazoo, Michigan
This city of just over 76,000 people is home to several colleges and universities, including Western Michigan University. But it is considered one of the most dangerous cities in America. For example, on December 5, 2019, there was an incident where Bronco Liquor was robbed at gunpoint. This crime caught the attention of the students. The store attendant allegedly fired shots, and the suspect was later taken into custody by WMU Public Safety Officers. Over the past few years, that particular location has experienced a few robberies. This has caused so much stress, anxiety, and fear for the people that live there. Students may even have PTSD as a result of the violence. So, the students must use the campus shuttle service, be aware of their surroundings, report any suspicious activity, and know where the blue-light emergency phones are located.
9. Columbia, South Carolina
Behind its beauty, there is a lot of crime. The rates of violent and property crimes (such as aggravated assault and larceny) have increased in Columbia, South Carolina, over the past few years. This is alarming to the residents, as well as to people who are just visiting. So, what had to be done to reduce crime?
The Crime Prevention Unit makes sure the needs of the community are met by launching initiatives like robbery prevention programs that ensure citizens are aware of information that will be needed if they become victims of a crime and can help in the reporting and ultimately the capture of those responsible. So, as a resident or a visitor to Columbia, it's our duty to be extra vigilant about protecting ourselves and our property.
