Walking Huntington Village NY (August 3rd 2021)
Today I walk around Huntington village and I actually try out my new mic for the first time. I think the mic works really well and blocks out that annoying wind noise. I barely heard any wind in this video, which is awesome!

In 1653, three men from Oyster Bay, Richard Holbrook, Robert Williams and Daniel Whitehead, purchased a parcel of land from the Matinecock tribe. This parcel has since come to be known as the First Purchase and included land bordered by Cold Spring Harbor on the west, Northport Harbor on the east, what is now known as Old Country Road to the south and Long Island Sound to the north. The three men immediately turned the land over to the settlers who had already been living there.[3]

From that initial settlement, Huntington grew over subsequent years to include all of the land presently comprising the modern Towns of Huntington and Babylon. The southern part of the town was formally separated to create Babylon in 1872.[3]
Because Huntington was populated largely by English settlers, unlike the rest of the New Amsterdam colony, the town voted in 1660 to become part of the Connecticut colony rather than remain under the authority of New Amsterdam. It was not until the British gained control of New Amsterdam in 1664 (renaming it New York) that Huntington was formally restored to the jurisdiction of New York.[3]
Following the Battle of Long Island during the American Revolutionary War, British troops used Huntington as their headquarters, and remained encamped there until the end of the war.[3]
The arrival of the Long Island Rail Road in 1867 transformed the economy of Huntington from primarily agriculture and shipping (based on its well protected harbor) to tourism and commuting. Cold Spring Harbor became a popular summer resort.[3]
The end of World War II brought about an explosive growth of population in Huntington, as in the rest of the region. Farms and resorts gave way to homes, and Huntington has transformed into a major bedroom community for nearby New York City.[3]

Do you really need to go into the New York City to experience an excellent tasting menu?
While Long Island has many amazing restaurants. Only one stands above the rest in terms of service, quality, uniqueness, use of ingredients and professionalism that is still approachable to everyday people. eatMosaic matches that criteria! Can it be the best restaurant in New York? Definitely the best restaurant on Long Island.
What makes it interesting is that the restaurant is not located in a castle, grand hotel, or expensive city rental spot. You can easily drive by the strip mall where it calls home for the past many years.

It's really the only tasting menu that uses similar techniques as other Michelin Starred Restaurants. Im going to guess that if it was located in NYC or other big city, they would have gotten at least 1 star. The town of St. James, NY does not scream come visit me, Michelin Reviewer. As much as I would love to see them get recognized, part of me loves that they quietly keep producing unique menus consistently use the different ingredients at almost every service. You will not get the same dishes over and over like other restaurants produce.
In order to maintain that kind of culinary creativity, you have to love food and the chef and team pull magic and all the stops each time for Long Island's Top Restaurant

THE MARITIME AQUARIUM EXPERIENCE - NORWALK, CT - Connecticut Travel Tour Guide Zoo Shark Sharks
CHRISTMAS ORNAMENTS SHATTERPROOF 72 COUNT ON AMAZON A day at the Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk, CT with Marc, Cliff and Ahra on a Sunday afternoon in January 2016. Saw the Shark Dive Show where they have a guide in scuba gear actually in the tank with the sharks (and she has a microphone and answers questions as well as giving information on the sharks). Also saw the Touch a Jellyfish and Touch a Ray areas, along with seeing the meerkats, seals, sea turtles and other exhibits. The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk is located at 10 North Water Street in Norwalk, CT 06854 (203-852-0700). Definitely a fun time. Here is my video from the other year of my visit to the Camden Adventure Aquarium:

The Zip Lines, Treetop Platforms, the Treetop Trails and general experience in the park makes it all worthwhile.
So proud of Lynn as she bravely darts to the front and steps out of her comfort zone, Lynn is full of excitement as she overcomes the obstacle course and absolutely loves the challenges all in the while in the dark. Her favorite? You guessed it, the zip lines, hopefully we will go back soon to complete the other tails.
Lucky, we had the foresight to bring headlights, makes the course less scary and less intimidating. The LEDs that light up the trials are not that bright and during the night can increase the challenge of the courses/trails.
The Staff were awesome in helping us put on the harness and checking to make sure we can use the safety gear properly. The double latches to the lifeline really makes you feel secure and that you will not fall. And always remember your safety training while at the treetops.
It’s a totally different experience going at night and with the relative inexperience of the group, we only had time to complete green trail.

NEW YORK CITY to CONNECTICUT in our TINY VAN | USA ROAD TRIP
Locations: New York City (Manhattan), NY | New York City (Brooklyn), NY | Stamford, CT | New Haven, CT | Hubbard Park, CT
Although driving our van into New York City would’ve been one to remember, we decided against it for many reasons— one major reason being the insane parking fees. Ben, being the kindest person ever, offered to let us park our van in his driveway for three nights, drive us into the city, show us around for a full day, AND pick us up three days later. New York City was a spectacular experience because of all our dear friends and their caring hospitality. Thank you, Sam, Ben, and Seth. From there, we got lost in the Bronx, trying to get to Stamford, CT, where we got to see yet another friend, Erin. With a Szechuan noodle dinner and a hot shower, we said goodbye to our last friend for a little while and hopped back into our tiny home on wheels. We are continuing into Connecticut for the next few days and hoping to ride on this cooler autumn weather!
