Less than 100kms from Durban, our resort is 90 metres from miles of unspoilt beach, and is on the banks of the Ifafa Lagoon. Whilst remaining very country and beautiful, we have every facility needed for a perfect holiday. Our ablution blocks are spotless and modern, and there are laundry facilities at each one. There are 8 private ablutions stands. Our sites are large and are mainly shaded. Every camping site has an electricity supply of 10 amps.
We have two beautiful swimming pools, one of which is heated in the cooler months enabling swimming throughout the year. There is well stocked shop and bottle store, with a takeaway during long weekends and season.
During season we have a very full entertainment programme, but even out of season, there is plenty to do. Our tradition of morning tea and scones is the start of many wonderful friendships and of course we have our famous bring and braai and pancakes on one of the week nights each week out of season. For the children there are trampolines, a jungle gym, huge hall, tv room, the Bazley Trails, canoeing on the lagoon, the list is endless. We believe that camping holidays brings families closer together.
There are eight luxury log cabins, with stunning views of the lagoon and sea.
For those of you not wanting to caravan or tent, but still wanting the fun of the resort, this is a really good option.
We have been awarded 4 star status, and we strive to live up to this honour. Our best is when we are told by our patrons that they had a 5 star holiday with us.

Upon our arrival at our accommodation, we savoured the satisfying dish of fish-and-chips we ordered, a welcome reward after a long day. As the sun unveiled the morning, we were greeted by a breathtaking panorama — the symphony of beach waves, verdant wilderness and an exquisite river estuary adorned with graceful bridges. Our exploration of the town exposed its captivating charm, paving the way for a visit to Crocworld, an encounter that left us in awe of the sheer magnitude of these creatures. The injured, yet magnificent, African Fish Eagle stood as a testament to resilience, etching itself into our hearts. This hotel is a perfect family destination for a calm beach holiday in Scottburgh. We flew to the airport on Kulula airlines and I hired a car to drive us to the hotel. The hotel is about an hours drive from the airport but its worth the trip.
The hotel reception were very friendly and escorted us to our sea view luxury rooms. The rooms were neat and capacious , it had cupboards, a bath, a desk, private porch and a shower. There was also an air conditioning system and a ceiling fan to keep cool during the December summer.
There was access to the main beach which is well known for its surfing community. The sea was warm and we enjoyed splashing in the gentle waves as well as surfing and body boarding. You can rent beach umbrellas and chairs on the beach and you can even rent surfboards when the waves are good.
The food at the hotel was scrumptious and had a mix between European and South African cuisine. You could even enjoy drinks and milkshakes been served to you. They also had a pizza restaurant on site to serve you. The bar by the pool has an incredible view of the ocean.
They have large swimming pool reserved for hotel guests. There is a playground for children and even a miniature golf area to play.
We also did snorkeling in the small rock pools and saw a variety of marine life such as crabs, black tail and dog fish. It was safe to snorkel in this area as the waves are very gentle.
I also went Scuba diving as there is a scuba diving center on site of the hotel. We go and dive at Aliwal Shoal which is one of the top ten diving spots in the world. While we taking our boat journey to the reef we encountered a school of dolphins riding the wake of the boat.
The visibility was quiet low but I still managed to see star fish, parrot fish and moorish idols in the coral reef. It was an absolute phenomenal experience and I would love to do the whole trip again.
The Blue Marlin Hotel is a dream holiday destination and I would recommend it to anyone that loves been by the sea.

ST LUCIA, KZN is definitely one of our favourite places in South Africa. There are not many places you can see Rhinos only a few hundred meters from one of the most wild and beautiful coastlines in Africa.
Our journey starts by checking into our beautiful accommodation, Perna Perna. We then ventured out on Saturday through the iSimangaliso Wetland Park to Cape Vidal Beach. Our busy day ended with a cruise in the St Lucia Estuary and dinner in town.
Only two hours from King Shaka International Airport, St Lucia is definitely worth a visit if you ever decide to visit KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. We can also highly recommend the accommodation at Perna Perna.
