DIY Destinations (4K) - Isle of Man Budget Travel Show | Full Episode
Charles Huang is on an epic journey across the Isle of Man on a tight budget to visit some of its free and must-see attractions in Douglas, includes: the War Memorial and Marine Garden on Douglas Promenade, Manx Museum and Douglas Head. In Laxey, we'll check the world famous water wheel and mine, follow by a ride on a 120 year old mountain railway to the summit of the Snaelfell Mountain. In Ramsey, the Grove Museum and the most northern point on the island the Point of Ayres. On the south of the island, we'll visit Peel Castle and St. German's Cathedral, and the nearby Tynwald Hill and St. John's Chapel. Enroute to Castletown, we'll visit the Manx Aviation and Military Museum, and iconic Castle Rushen and Old House of Keys. We'll end the journey at Port Erin by visiting it's Steam Railway Museum and the island's best beach Port Erin Beach and return with traditional ride back on an traditional steam train to Douglas. We'll explore the best way to get local Manx pound currency, dining inexpensively and getting around easily and on a budget.

Sandy cliffs erode very easily. On the Ballaugh/Jurby coast has is especially noticeable. This was one property owner's attempt to stop the waves washing his house away.

Best of Castletown (4K) - Manx Aviation & Military Museum, Old House of Keys, Castle Rushen
This is the best of Castletown segment of the Isle of Man episode of DIY Destinations. The host Charles Huang will visit all the must-see landmarks, free museums and historic landmarks. Starting from the Manx Aviation and Military Museum located near the Isle of Man Airport, dedicated to the history of aviation and the military on the Isle of Man. On display include exhibits that is dedicated to the Manx Regiment, with many pieces of wartime memorabilia is one of only a handful of fully restored Morris-Commercial C9/B self-propelled Bofors 40 mm guns. In Castletown, we'll visit the Old House of Keys, the former meeting place for the lower house of Tynwald, the Isle of Man's parliament. As well, the Castle Rushen, the best examples of medieval castles in Europe. Built during the 10th-century reigns of rulers of the Isle of Man, from 1710 the Keys met at the Bishop Wilson's library in Castletown before moving to a dedicated building. By the end of 18th century, it became a prison.

Söndag och fridag I Manx GP programmet, tur är det då det småregnar över berget och södra delen på ön. Vi åker norr över till Jurby där man byggt om ett gammalt flygfält till motorbana. Vi möts av en salig blandning av motorcyklar, alt från 30-talare till moderna sport hojar. Det körs typ ”SMC sport kurs” med paradvarv för de som bara vill känna på banan och visa upp sin hoj. Samtidigt som man får njuta av ljudet av megafoner. Allt på nära håll och vara mitt i depån.
Intill ligger Manx transportmuseum och även ett fantastiskt motor museum.
Hemfärden gick via Ramsey och över berget ner till Douglas. Med ett stopp vid Victory Cafe och Joey Dunlop statyn.
Sunday and day off In the Manx GP program, luck is when it rains lightly over the mountain and the southern part of the island. We go north to Jurby, where an old airfield has been converted into a motorway. We are met by a blissful mix of motorcycles, everything from 30s to modern sports bikes. There is a type of SMC sport course with parade laps for those who just want to feel the track and show off their bike. While enjoying the sound of megaphones. Everything up close and in the middle of the depot.
Next door is the Manx transport museum and a fantastic motor museum.
The journey home went via Ramsey and over the mountain down to Douglas. With a stop at the Victory Cafe and the Joey Dunlop statue.

Jurby Mice 2012, St Patrick's Church, Jurby, Isle of Man
Jurby Church was full of Mice for two weeks in July 2012. A year in the life of the Pheric family featured displays for each month of the year together with accompaning verse and a book containing photos and verse. The amount of work involved in staging this gathering was trully on an Olympic scale.This video only hints at the detail and care taken.
The craft display was part of onging efforts to raise awareness of this land mark Church building on the Isle of Man's north west coast.

Welcome to Part 33 of our tour. On this part we leave Jurby Junk after saying farewell to Stella. We hope that it will not be long before we see her again! After rejoining the A10 Coast road, we take a detour and find ourselves riding along a concrete road that ultimately leads to a dead end! We take a look at the tourist information board sited here and then head back. Because I wasn't too sure about how to get to the Point of Ayre (It had been 30 years since we were last there and the SatNav didn't have it listed), when we got to Bride, I took a right turn on the A10 after Bride instead of a left turn. This took us to Ramsey! Anyway we enjoyed a bag of chips from a Fish and Chips shop and even shared a few with two local Seagulls! We hope you have enjoyed this video. Thanks for watching!
