The Lost Village 30 Minutes Outside Paris

In 1970, Goussainville was a vibrant, picturesque place, home to 1000 people. But now it's almost deserted. What made people abandon a perfectly nice village in valuable commuter belt land? And why are the empty buildings still here, 50 years later? I went to explore Paris's neighbourhood ghost town...

Gare du Nord Paris - Largest Trainstation in Europe - ???????? France [4K HDR] Walking Tour

Wandering around the Gare du Nord, the largest trainstation in Europe - major high speed rail hub of western EU. Click here ▶ to see highlights and guide.

(From Wiki):
The Gare du Nord (pronounced (literally Station of the North, or more simply North Station, lexically), officially Paris-Nord, is one of the six large terminus stations of the SNCF mainline network for Paris, France. It serves train services toward regions north of Paris, along the Paris–Lille railway. Near Gare de l'Est in the 10th arrondissement, the Gare du Nord offers connections with several urban transport lines, including Paris Métro, RER and buses. By the number of travelers, around 222 million per year, it is the busiest railway station in Europe by total passenger numbers.

The Gare du Nord is the station for trains to Northern France and to international destinations in Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. The station complex was designed by the French architect Jacques Hittorff and built between 1861 and 1864.

Wherever a group of humans begin to settle down and build a life for themselves, they begin to use up the energy and resources within the area as they expand and build further. The environment is sometimes permanently altered when a large group of people move into an area. They construct buildings, and live there for decades and sometimes longer. Occasionally, however, something goes wrong and those people are forced to leave their home behind forever. These domains then become abandoned, lost to the world until explorers come for a visit. Here are ten of the most famous ghost towns in the world.
10. Craco, Italy
Craco, Italy, was once the home to over 1,800 people, all of whom who were permanently relocated by the government in 1963. Since then, the area has been abandoned due to the serious volcanic activity.
09. Fordlandia, Brazil
Fordlandia, Brazil, was known as Henry Ford’s village and now his wasteland. The area, which has abandoned for decades, draws in cults, eccentric groups, and business moguls alike.
08. Hashima Island, Japan
Hashima Island, Japan, was once a coal mining operation that brought in quite the resources for the country. After the coal was supplanted by oil in the nation, however, everyone was out of a job and forced to abandon their homes.
07. Dallol, Ethiopia
Dallol, Ethiopia, is now an abandoned mining camp within the heart of Afar Triangle. The Danakil Depression is located here, which is the lowest and hottest place on the entire planet. Due to the volcanic activity and unrest, the people were forced to remove themselves from The Gate to Hell.
06. Agdam, Azerbaijan
Agdam, Azerbaijan, is a casualty of wartime. The civil war between Azerbaijan and Armenia caused the entire city to become abandoned seemingly overnight. 40,000 people were forced to flee from the area.
05. Centralia, Pennsylvania
Centralia, Pennsylvania, is the town that gave inspiration to the Silent Hill franchise. A vein of coal under the town has been burning for decades now, causing everyone to escape the harmful gases and fires.
04. kolmanskop, Namibia
Kolmanskuppe, Namibia, is one of the most photographed abandoned towns in the entire world. The buildings are half-covered in sand, taken back by nature.
03. Pompeii, Italy
Pompeii, Italy, was obviously abandoned went Mount Vesuvius erupted, killing thousands. Many escaped, but it remains a ghost town to this day!
02. Oradour-sur-Glane, France
During the Second World War, Nazi Germany occupied huge parts of France. On June 10, 1944, the 2nd Panzer Division of the Waffen-SS massacred the entire village in retaliation for the killing of an officer by the local resistance movement. In total, 642 were killed.
01. Pripyat, Ukraine
Pripyat, Ukraine, is one of the most well-known ghost towns in the entire world. Following the Chernobyl disaster, everyone evacuated the area. No one has ever returned. The entire area is simply frozen in time.

GOUSSAINVILLE | Abandoned village near Paris!
What happens when an airport is built next door to a small town?
Here is a story of Goussainville - a small town outside of Paris that became a neighbour to France’s biggest and busiest airport - Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle. In this video we explore the now abandoned village, its forgotten streets and local heritage monuments. We also get a little creeped out and find some additions to our home library.
