I just spent 1 month traveling around Mexico, and my last stop was the capital, Mexico City! It’s located 2200 meters above sea level, and it’s one of the largest metropolitan cities in the world. With its 22 million inhabitants, it’s become incredibly dense, hectic, loud, and overwhelming, BUT I loved it!

Inside Mexico’s Craziest Market - WE WERE SHOCKED! (our first time in Mexico City) | CDMX, Mexico

We’ve made it to Mexico City! In this video, we are experiencing the market culture in Mexico City (CDMX). We started at, La Merced Market, which is one of the largest and most vibrant markets in Mexico City (CDMX). La Merced can be a bit overwhelming at first, with its labyrinthine streets and endless rows of stalls and vendors. But it's all part of the experience, and we quickly got swept up in the excitement and energy of the place. The market is a true feast for the senses, with the smells, sounds, and colors of Mexico all around you.

We then visited Mercado Sonora, which is a vibrant and bustling market located right next to La Merced. You can find a wide variety of products, from traditional Mexican crafts and souvenirs to exotic herbs, spices, and potions used in traditional folk medicine.

After visiting Mercado Sonora, we continued our exploration of Mexico City by checking out some local establishments. We stopped at a pulqueria, which is a traditional Mexican bar that specializes in pulque, a fermented beverage made from the sap of the agave plant. Next, we visited a cantina, which is another type of traditional Mexican bar. Finally, we took a leisurely stroll around the old town of Mexico City, soaking up the rich history and vibrant culture of the area.

This is Mexico City!? Here's why Condesa, Roma Norte and Juarez will surprise you

La Condesa and Roma Norte are among Mexico City's most charming neighborhoods. Here you find a lot of parks, historical constructions, nice cafes and restaurants. And in Juarez are 2 of the most sought-after places for Instagram pictures in CDMX: the Wings of Mexico and the Angel of Independence.

After starting with chilaquiles, a typical Mexican breakfast sandwich, we spent the whole day walking from La Condesa to Juarez via Roma Norte in hopes of burning some calories.

► WHO AM I?

I am a Brazilian-American journalist living in Florida. After traveling the world working with sports, news, and events for over 15 years, I realized that what I really love is the travel part of it all. So I exchanged life in the newsrooms and stadiums for the daily challenge of being an independent content producer. I created this channel to share the beauties of the world... stuff that for so long I only kept to myself. Also to help people planning similar trips and to inspire more people to venture out and enjoy life!

How We Feel About Mexico City!? | Roma Norte & La Condesa Mexico City Travel Guide | Mexico Travel

Travel Vlog #101 | Mexico City, Mexico (Ciudad de México)

Today we are back in Mexico City! We have an entire day to explore the best of Mexico City and find all the things to do, see, and eat here! We're spending most of our time exploring the Roma Norte and La Condesa neighborhoods. These are both very popular and up & coming neighborhoods with plenty of city parks, cafes, and restaurants.
We started out by visiting Boicot Cafe. We had read they had some of the best cold brew coffee in Mexico City, so we just decided to try them all and go with a flight! We both really loved the Rufus Thomas, which is cold brew with horchata. We both enjoyed our chilaquiles and the atmosphere of the cafe was great.
We stumbled upon Plaza Río de Janeiro, which has a true-to-size replica of Michelangelo's David!! This is a really nice green space in the city and is VERY dog friendly.
From there, we continued to explore Roma Norte by visiting a bookshop cafe and enjoying the street art. We found another green space with a fountain replica - Fuente de Cibeles. Mexico City is one of the most walkable places we've explored - especially if you stay on the western side near Roma Norte and La Condesa. If you would rather take a taxi, ubers are really cheap!
After a quick stop back at our hotel to recharge, we headed towards the biggest city park in Mexico City as well as one of the largest in the ENTIRE western hemisphere! Bosque de Chapultepec is over 680 hectares and has museums, castles, fountains, a zoo, ponds, etc. all within the park! You could literally spend days exploring this one area, but sadly we don't have that much time! Since we visited on Constitution Day weekend, most of the museums and other buildings were closed, but we still spent around 2 hours just wandering around the park and taking a nice break from the craziness of Mexico City. A fun fact about the park is that it houses the ONLY true castle in all of North America - Castillo de Chapultepec! This is somewhere we really wanted to go into, so if you visit, PLEASE go inside for us!!
We headed to the zocolo (city center) for the evening, to go inside of the Mexico City Metropolitan Cathedral and watch the largest flag in Mexico be lowered for the day! The cathedral was beautiful and well worth a visit, but the flag wasn't up. We have no idea why it wasn't flying while we were there, but this is something else we missed out on that we were really looking forward to! For dinner we decided Italian food was calling our names, so we went to Nonsolo. The pasta was good, but the fried polenta with goat cheese and honey on top was INCREDIBLE! We still talk about it to this day haha.
Make sure you subscribe to see the rest of our Mexico City Vlogs, and where else we go in Mexico! (We have a very fun day trip coming up for next week!!)
