Hamadān , land of water springs and water resources.
This province lies in the western areas of Iran. Mount Alvand with a height of 3574 meters above the sea level is located to the south and southwest of Hamadān City.
The altitude of this province and its location at the foothills of the Zagros and Alvand mountains results in heavy rain and snowfall. This has caused many water springs to flow through this land. Gāmāsiābis the largest river of this province; it runs into KārūnRiver.
These features have made this land rich in lawns and have made it an ideal place for nomad life and cattle breeding. Therefore the economy in this province is primarily based on farming and husbandry, then on mining activities. People of Hamedan are from different races and speak Persian, Azari, Luri and Kurdish. These people are famous for their artistic taste. Common handicrafts in this province include pottery, carpet weaving, shoe making and tannery.
Hamadān is the connecting joint between eastern and western main roads of Iran. The oldest objects of ancient Iranian civilizations have been discovered in this land. Professor Ghirshman, a famous French archaeologist has, in his studies proved that civilization of Hamedan dates back to 37 centuries BC.

Hamadān or Hamedān (Persian: همدان, Hamadān) (Old Persian: Haŋgmetana, Ecbatana) is the capital city of Hamadan Province of Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 473,149, in 127,812 families.Hamadan is believed to be among the oldest Iranian cities and one of the oldest in the world. It is possible that it was occupied by the Assyrians in 1100 BCE; the Ancient Greek historian, Herodotus, states that it was the capital of the Medes, around 700 BCE.Hamadan has a green mountainous area in the foothills of the 3,574-meter Alvand Mountain, in the midwest part of Iran. The city is 1,850 meters above sea level.The special nature of this old city and its historic sites attract tourists during the summer to this city, located approximately 360 kilometres (224 miles) southwest of Tehran.The main symbols of this city are the Ganj Nameh inscription, the Avicenna monument and the Baba Taher monument. Majority of the people are Persian but there is a sizable Azerbaijani population too.
Hamadan province lies in a temperate mountainous region to the east of Zagros. The vast plains of the north and northeast of the province are influenced by strong winds, that almost last throughout the year.The various air currents of this region are: the north and north west winds of the spring and winter seasons, which are usually humid and bring rainfall. The west-east air currents that blow in the autumn, and the local winds that develop due to difference in air-pressure between the elevated areas and the plains, like the blind wind of the Asad Abad region.
According to the survey of 1997, the population of Hamadan province was 1,677,957. Based on official statistics of 1997, the population of Hamadan county was 563,444 people. the majority population are Persians and Hamadan has a sizeable minority of Azeris, and a small group of Jews.
Hamadan is home to many poets and cultural celebrities. The city is also said to be among the world's oldest continuously inhabited cities.
Hamadan has always been well known for handicrafts like leather, ceramic, and carpets.
Iran's Cultural Heritage Organization lists 207 sites of historical and cultural significance in the city of Hamadan alone.
A tomb believed by some to hold the remains of tomb the biblical Esther and her cousin Mordechai is located in Hamadan.
The scientist and writer known in the west as Avicenna (Abu Ali Sina) is buried in Hamadan. The 11th-century Iranian poet Baba Taher is also interred in Hamadan.Wikipedia

Ganjnameh tourist village is located in Hamadan city in Iran, in the Zagros mountain range and the slopes of Alvand mountain. This area is considered one of Hamedan's must-see places for sightseeing and entertainment, with various attractions such as Ganjnameh waterfall, historical inscriptions from the Achaemenid period, cable cars, Mishan plain at the foot of Alvand peak, rail sled, bungee jumping, aquarium cave and amusement park. In the winter season, Ganjnameh waterfall freezes completely and creates a beautiful view. Also, Mishan plain on the slopes of Alvand mountain is completely covered with snow.

Ganjnameh Ancient Inscriptions & Ganjnameh Waterfall (HAMEDAN/IRAN )
In this video, I talk about Ganjnameh inscriptions which are located 12 km southwest of Hamadan (my hometown) in western Iran. This site is home to two trilingual Achaemenid cuneiform inscriptions. The inscription on the upper left was created by the order of Achaemenid King Darius the Great (522–486 BC) and the one on the right by his son King Xerxes the Great (486–465 BC). I also describe Ganjnameh waterfall as well as the Imperial Road.

در سال ۱۳۸۵ مجلس شورای اسلامی در مصوبهای همدان را «پایتخت تاریخ و تمدن ایران» اعلام کرد.
همدان اولین پایتخت نخستین شاهنشاهی ایران، مادها بودهاست.
با این حال قدیمیترین آثار یافتشده از محوطهٔ باستانی هگمتانه و نیز کتیبههای گنجنامه مربوط به دوران هخامنشیان هستند. همچنین این شهر در روزگار هخامنشیان، اشکانیان، ساسانیان، آل بویه و سلجوقیان نیز یکی از پایتختهای کشور بودهاست. هماکنون استان همدان به دلیل داشتن مراکز تاریخی و دیدنی به عنوان پنجمین شهر فرهنگی و توریستی کشور شناخته میشود و از نظر علمی نیز با وجود مراکز دانشگاه بوعلی سینا، دانشگاه صنعتی همدان، دانشگاه آزاد اسلامی همدان، دانشگاه پیام نور همدان و مراکز دیگر، به عنوان یکی از قطبهای دانشگاهی کشور شناخته شدهاست.
آرامگاه بوعلی سینا نماد شهر همدان و همچنین یکی از نمادهای پیشینهٔ ایران در فرهنگ جهان و دانش و علم بهشمار میرود.

Ganjnameh waterfall with a height of 12 meters is located on the way to the heights of Alvand mountain and five kilometers west of Hamedan next to Ganjnameh inscriptions. This waterfall has permanent water and is flowing in winters. The average water flow of this waterfall is 200 liters per second, which passes through Abbasabad and Ganjnameh valleys. However, the natural flow of this waterfall is less than 10 liters, which has increased by diverting water from the overpass. It is located in a city of Hamedan.

گزارش صعود به قله یخچال به ارتفاع ۳۵۸۰ متر بام همدان

دومین صعود به قله از طرح سیمرغ ایران
روز پنج شنبه ساعت ۶ بعد از ظهر همنوردان به قصد صعود به قله یخچال بام همدان به ارتفاع ۳۵۸۰ . قریب به ساعت ۱۱ شب به مجموعه سنگنوردی زنده یاد فرهاد میزاجانی رسیدیم و شب را آنجا استراحت کردیم. ۶ صبح به سمت قله یخچال حرکت کردیم. پس از گذشت از کوچه باغ های زیبا به دشت رسیدیم. پیمایش از۶ نیم صبح شروع شد پس از گذشتن از دشت و سنگ عقرب به جانپناه رسیدیم. پس از مدت نیم ساعت استراحت به سمت پناهگاه حرکت کردیم. ساعت ۱۰:۵۰ الی ۱۱:۱۰ کنار پناهگاه اندکی استراحت کردیم و نهایتا ساعت ۱۲:۴۰ کلیه همنوردان به قله یخچال با ارتفاع ۳۸۵۰ متر رسیدند. و ساعت ۵ و نیم بعد از ظهر همدان را به مقصد تهران ترک کردیم. و برنامه ساعت ۱۱ شب به پایان رسید.
