$2 Chicken Tikka. Indian Street Food in Delhi. ????????

After finishing off 30 momo between us in my Hauz Khas apartment, myself and Broke Forever went for a stroll in search of some more local delicacies.

I spotted a man pushing a cart along the road carrying oranges and a grinding machine. It was pretty obvious what he sells so I flagged him down and ordered two cups of delicious fresh orange juice.

The orange man juices the fruit with manual power. No electricity is involved. At 30 rupees a cup, considering how much effort goes into making the juice, it's superb value.

After downing the OJ's we crossed the street again where some hot food was being cooked up. One vendor had all sorts of meats on display and I pointed at one that was sitting on the cooking grill, meaning it was probably the one most recently cooked. I want to avoid anything that was cooked hours ago and has been sitting there harvesting bacteria.

What I got was Chicken Tikka drenched in butter. The meat was nice but the fact that it has been cooked and then re-cooked meant the meat wasn't as tender as it could have been. It was still delicious though and again I thought it was good value.

I had room for though and a couple of stalls down there was a vendor with Hyderabadi Biriyani. Apparently what makes the Biriyani a Hyderabadi version is a particular spice that's added to it.

We tried to order, with a bit of difficulty, half a plate but what we were served was a massive plate of chicken and rice. A bigger portion than I could finish, even with my friend trying to help me.

The taste was lovely and the meat was nice, juicy and tender. More so than at the Chicken Tikka vendor. It had a subtle taste of aniseed through it, which you may think wouldn't go well with a chicken and rice dish but I liked it, and so did the street dog that we gave the leftovers to.

I had an idea to finish the street food adventure with a nice fresh lassi in a clay cup but it seems that those fresh lassi vendors have shut up shop by the evening. We came up with a Plan B though, which was to visit Mother Dairy, a famous chain of milk vendor, and get their pre-packaged lassis.

They do have a 15 day expiry date on them so they are kinda fresh.

That was the street food tour of Hauz Khas finished but on the way back to the apartment we found a Kulfi shop and I couldn't resist. Kulfi is a type of Indian ice cream on a stick. One for now and four for the road. Fantastic.

I'm happy to say that none of the vendors in the area tried to scam or overcharge me. With Haus Khas being more of a residential area and local hangout zone you don't have to be on your guard so much as you would in the popular tourist areas of Delhi.

$2 South Indian Uttapam - Street Food in Delhi ????????

I explored more of Delhi's street food offerings, this time in the INA Market area.

Riding the Delhi Metro was a convenient way to get there as the market begins right outside the station. What was also convenient was having my own camera man, Mr Broke Forever (

The first stall we came across was selling fresh fruit juice. I love these stalls as they are everywhere in Delhi, the quality is usually good and the price is always low. Even better when a generous local appears and offers to pay for your drink!

With thirst quenched we walked further down the main street and came across a Vada stand. Vada are deep-fried lentil fritters. I usually find them quite dry but at this Vada stand they were soaked in Sambar (a spicy broth) and topped with a generous amount of coconut chutney. At only 20 rupees for the meal that was easily the best value meal I've had so far.

With the stomach only half full I was in search of more and was introduced to a South Indian Pizza known as Uttapam. It's like a thicker version of a Dosa, covered in toppings. Delicious and certainly something I'll be eating again.

With a full stomach I turned my attention to clothes and in particular a baseball cap but didn't see anything I like. So what was intended to be a full market spree video with equal amounts of food and bargaining over t-shirts and caps just turned into being a street food video. No worries though.

We ended the trip to INA Market by getting scammed for some Lemon Sodas. Almost made it through the video without a scam. Almost!!!

Eating Indian Street Food In Delhi Night Market

On our first evening in Delhi myself and Harald Baldr headed to Paharganj night market in search of our first meal in India together. We found a small outdoor place and sat down to sample some of the dishes and speak to the workers. A big thanks to Harald Baldr on this one for keeping the conversation entertaining and flowing during the meal.

$0.25 Sambar Vada in Delhi, India ????????

I explored more of Delhi's street food offerings, this time in the INA Market area.

The first thing I ate there was vada. Vada is a donut shaped savoury snack, that I've tried before in Sri Lanka. I thought the one I had in Sri Lanka was a bit dry and could do with some sauce or something. Even better than sauce is sambar, which is what this shop in Delhi serves the vada with. Sambar is like a spicy vegetable soup and it soaks into the vada nicely.

Indian Street Food FEAST ????????

Today I visited Conaught place with @GoWithAli , we started off by trying the infamous fire pan. I was not a big fan of it but glad i tried it anyway. After we went for some delicious grilled chicken where we saw the cooking process and how it works. Finally I went for a waffle for desert and boy I was not dissapointed!

$0.80 Punjabi Indian Street Food

■ INDIA, AHMEDABAD: Ever since I started sampling the Gujarati street food around Ahmedabad people have been telling me their favorite is actually Punjabi dishes. I've therefore long since wanted to put this to the test, but how? I don't know what Punjabi street food even looks like! Luckily today I ran into a stall selling a Punjabi potato dish by pure accident. So was it really better than the Gujarati dishes I've had?

$1.50 Masala Dosa in Mumbai, India ????????

At Chowpatty Beach in Mumbai, I tried a dosa with a filling of aloo masala. Dosa is made from rice flour, aloo is potato and masala is a mix of spices.

The next customer in line told me that it's like a Frankie but I've no idea what that is.

DELHI, INDIA ➖ An evening stroll in the streets of Old Delhi turned into a food massacre, as I find myself walking into all kinds of establishments on the hunt for a meal. After pondering for 15+ minutes in some interesting locations, I stumbled into a Shawarma store run by what looked to be two brothers. After being carried through multiple sets of hands, the chicken Shawarma arrived at me on a plate ready for me to devour.

Chicken Tikka Masala - 2 of 7 Indian Dishes You Must Eat Before You Die!

???????? BOMBAY DARBAR:
???? MY TRAVEL/FOOD BLOG:
???? DAVID’S BEEN HERE MERCH:

In this series, I want to dive even deeper into the world of Indian food and show you guys what goes into making these mouthwatering dishes. Come with me to Bombay Darbar in Miami as I show you how they make one of my favorite Indian dishes, chicken tikka masala!

Chicken tikka masala is a creamy dish is made up of boneless pieces of chicken that are marinated in dahi (yogurt) and lots of spices, and served in a curry of pureed tomatoes, cream, coconut cream, and a masala mixture.

There are many theories as to who first created the dish; some say it was the South Asian community that immigrated to Great Britain, while others say it was Bangladeshi chefs who moved to the UK. Another popular theory claims that a British-Pakistani chef invented it in his restaurant in Glasgow, Scotland.

There are lots of variations, but the dish has become so popular in Great Britain that it's now considered one of the country's national dishes. There, it’s commonly referred to as “CTM.”

The dish is very similar to another popular chicken dish, butter chicken. But butter chicken contains less tomatoes than chicken tikka masala, while chicken tikka masala is less creamy.

Also, butter chicken (murgh makani) is a creamy blend of tomato sauce and spices. Chicken tikka masala is a little different and has a creamy tomato gravy and onion sauce. The two dishes look very similar, but they have subtle differences in flavor.

I hope you enjoyed coming with me to show you how to make chicken tikka masala at Bombay Darbar! If you did, please drop a like, leave a comment, and subscribe for more travel/food adventures from around the world!

$0.25 Pani Puri in Delhi, India ????????

Today me and the Aussie @LukeDamant walked around Delhi in search of some delicious street food, we started off with some famous Pani Puri. To be honest I wasn't a big fan of it mainly because of the water texture but im glad I tried it. Next I tried some Maggi which was absolutely delicious and so cheap, it reminded me of super noodles that we have in the UK. I then tried some Lassi which was so tasty and refreshing and finally bought some REAL airpods from a random man on the street.

My First Time Trying This Indian Street Food! ????????

Travel Creators (FREE):
Travel Creator School (PAID):

New Delhi, India ➖ Today I went to see India Gate, a popular hangout spot for Indians with plenty of things to do... well so I thought. Unfortunately, it turned out to be closed! So, the first thing that came to mind was to look for some delicious street food. I asked some locals and they pointed me in a direction down the street. When walking there, a tuk-tuk driver stopped me and I got a lift to what he said was the best place to eat in the area. I tried some new dishes, and washed it all down with some fresh Indian lassi!

The Best Street Food In Delhi with Luke Damant | India Food Vlog

We went out to nosh on some of the best shawarma that you can get in Delhi. Shawarma is a Lebanese dish in Middle Eastern cuisine consisting of meat cut into thin slices, stacked in a cone-like shape, and roasted on a slowly-turning vertical rotisserie or spit. Originally made of lamb or mutton, today's shawarma may also be chicken, turkey, beef, or veal. Here at the restaurant called Al-Bake you can get chicken shawarma and it's hands down one of the best shawarma's I've ever eaten and a lot of people I know feel the same way. Enjoy this little food vlog. Don't forget to Subscribe!
