Inside Mexico’s Craziest Market - WE WERE SHOCKED! (our first time in Mexico City) | CDMX, Mexico

We’ve made it to Mexico City! In this video, we are experiencing the market culture in Mexico City (CDMX). We started at, La Merced Market, which is one of the largest and most vibrant markets in Mexico City (CDMX). La Merced can be a bit overwhelming at first, with its labyrinthine streets and endless rows of stalls and vendors. But it's all part of the experience, and we quickly got swept up in the excitement and energy of the place. The market is a true feast for the senses, with the smells, sounds, and colors of Mexico all around you.

We then visited Mercado Sonora, which is a vibrant and bustling market located right next to La Merced. You can find a wide variety of products, from traditional Mexican crafts and souvenirs to exotic herbs, spices, and potions used in traditional folk medicine.

After visiting Mercado Sonora, we continued our exploration of Mexico City by checking out some local establishments. We stopped at a pulqueria, which is a traditional Mexican bar that specializes in pulque, a fermented beverage made from the sap of the agave plant. Next, we visited a cantina, which is another type of traditional Mexican bar. Finally, we took a leisurely stroll around the old town of Mexico City, soaking up the rich history and vibrant culture of the area.

10 Shocks of Visiting Mexico
1. How amazing the People are
2. How you don't lick it, slam it, suck it with the Tequila in Mexico
3. How much culture there is to visit in Mexico from Mayan and Aztec sights to Spanish colonials sights and Mexican history. Not to mention natural history sights.
4. The Food is so much better than anything you have had at a Mexican restaurant back home.
5. How Cabo & Cancun might not be the most authentic destinations for seeing the true Mexico.
6. Montezuma's Revenge. When traveler's diarrhea gets you... it gets you here, so don't drink the water.
7. Lack of toilet seats...
8. The Weather: yes the weather is amazing in Mexico but remember to stay hydrated (not just margaritas) and wear sun block.
9. The driving is insane...

10 Best Places to Visit in Mexico - Travel Video

Check out all the places seen in this video:

Gorgeous beaches, a delicious culinary scene, festive culture and ancient pyramids all make Mexico a popular tourist destination. Mexico is a land of color and contrasts. Crowded beaches lead into quiet colonial towns while resort cities open gateways to jungles ringing with parrots and howler monkeys. Majestic mountains descend to remote deserts. Traditional pueblo houses sit near Spanish haciendas. Ruins of Mayan cities lie excavated outside of modern metropolises. Here’s a look at the best places to visit in Mexico:

10 Things That Will SHOCK You about Mexico

We travel with a Microsoft Surface everywhere we go. I edit my videos on it & use it to backup my pictures and vides while we travel. It’s light and the best travel laptop on the market in my opinion.

We use Sony Alpha series cameras to film our videos. They are compact so you don’t look like a super tourist when you take great pictures and videos while you travel.

We use Manfrotto Tripods. They are compact, travel well, and honestly I would not use another tripod for my nice cameras.

Travel Plug that works in pretty much any country & has four USB ports. A must for any traveler.

Want to grab some great gear? We have used Osprey Packs for years & swear by them. Check them out here

Need some clothing for your next adventure? Patagonia has some pretty good stuff for all kinds of travelers.

Inside Mexico's Craziest Market ????????

We are taking a ride to Mexico's craziest market, la merced. Most locals will tell you not to go the merced market in Mexico City and even some Mexican locals don't go there themselves. It's one of Mexico's most important markets however were thousands of goods and foods pass through. You will see it all in this market, Mexican food, bootlegged goods, and the most exotic beer I have ever had. People say it's dangerous, don't go there with a camera, watch your pockets but to be honest I met some of the friendliest people ever. Join me as we take a walk through Mexico's craziest market ... or so they say.

The side of Mexico you’ve NEVER seen!!

I spent a week in small-town Oaxaca, Mexico for a local cultural celebration no foreigner has experienced (**this is a side of Mexico they don't want you to see**)
❁❁Subscribe to my channel:

Come with me to experience this AMAZING week of Oaxacan festivities in a small town you've probably never heard of called Santa Maria Mixtequilla. The reason I say that is because NO ONE has ever made a vlog of this place before.

One of my good friends Ivett's family is from this small town and she invited me to come here and get the local's perspective on this incredible cultural experience. Every year the people of Santa Maria Mixtequilla throw a huge festival-like celebration they call Fiestas patronales de la Virgin Santa Catalina de Siena.

This Mexico vlog includes:
- Multiple elaborate parades filled with music, candy-throwing, and townspeople dressed in traditional Oaxacan clothing
- A behind-the-scenes look at Oaxacan food is made
- Adorable animals like pollito, my adopted chickadee
- A look at the beautiful clothing worn in this region (huipiles and enaguas) and how women do their hair and makeup
- Crazy pyrotechnics called toritos and the castillo
- The 5-hour expedition for forest flowers
- One of my favorite parts called the fruit-throwing parade where the royal procession and others in town throw thousands of items into the street for the spectators
- And MORE!

Let me know in a comment what you think of this festival. Would you like to see more videos like this?
